Very nice alpine hosts and a great panorama

Had a really nice overnight stay with a delicious dinner and a hearty breakfast. We'd love to come back.

Small mountain pasture about 50 minutes from the top of Speer. In the restaurant you can get several drinks and a couple of simple dishes typical of the region, to be enjoyed on their beautiful outdoor terrace. You can also stay overnight in the structure. The place is very quiet, easily accessible and offers a beautiful view of the nearby peaks.

We hiked up the Speer today and wanted to stop off at Alp Oberchäseren after the descent. The sign said open and current Schlorzifladen and meat loaf. Were very disappointed like many other hikers ☹.

Very fine cheese can be bought directly from the alp, the climb is worth it.

After a strenuous mountain tour, it was wonderful to rest and relax there. Very nice service. A hearty snack was just right after the climb and the strenuous return trip. And all with a breathtaking view.

Perfect Swiss mountain experience … home cooked food and a view. Although anything would taste good after the hike up!

I loved this place! Stayed one night and enjoyed the silence and fresh air at the top.

Very cozy mountain pub with friendly service. The coffee and (still warm) nut croissants were delicious. Good refreshment for the climb to the spear👍🤗

A big thank you to the Jöhl couple including the waitress!!! After a misstep I broke my ankle below the spear. At the Alpwirtschaft Oberchäseren I received immediate and uncomplicated help! The innkeepers looked after me and gave me an exclusive quad transport to the valley! If it weren't for them, REGA would probably have had to take care of this trivial matter. Jeanette & Pius; many thanks for your help!!!

An excellently served alp in the most beautiful location below the Speer with a great view. Friendly staff and good menu with all kinds of local delicacies. My meatloaf with fried egg and refreshing elderberry syrup were delicious. It was worth the effort of the climb. Refreshed, I made my way up to the top of the spear.

Great mountain restaurant to have a snack or meal when hiking. We had the sandwiches On our way up to Speer and the Älpler Macaroni (typical Swiss dish) as lunch on our way down. Everything was great and the staff who is the family running this place were very friendly. Be aware that all drinks and food has to be flown in by helicopter thus the more expensive process for the drinks.

Top mountain restaurant and friendly service for years. The bottle of mineral is justified because it can only be transported by helicopter. Hikers who “repent” should take the water with them from home.

These are bandits... they unrestrainedly exploit the thirsty plight of the hikers... a bottle of mineral water costs an incredible CHF 11.-

Fine milk and fine apple cider. So beautiful!
