Good food and nice service. What more do you want?

There were two of us for dinner. 2x tomato cream soup and as a main course Entrecode Cafe de Paris with pasta and veal schnitzel with champinion cream sauce. It was an absolute blast, 10 out of 10 :) Great service thank you

If you visit in the evening, you must make a reservation. I went without a reservation in the evening and ate a quick meal, but I think it's okay for lunch without a reservation. The portions are quite large!! It was a restaurant with a nice atmosphere.

A decent meal. I came to Grindelwald on the spur of the moment on that day. I visited two restaurants, one Italian and one Indian. Both were full. After wandering around, I came to this restaurant. The restaurant was about 70% full at the time of delivery. It's fast, the chicken is very tender and the steak is average. It tastes good when paired with green sauce. Overall, it doesn't offend the Asian stomach.

Koreans here are really delicious. I went on a trip and wanted to eat outside, so I googled it and left. It was the best food for Korean tastes since coming to Switzerland. I have to go again tomorrow... .❤️

I knew Swiss food was bad, but I was upset because it was expensive and not tasty. I think it would be much better if I made it myself, and the plating was really sketchy. Even though I kept looking, they didn't come to pay or take my order. It was a continuous wait. The tomato juice was all messed up and left over ^^. Only the gamtu side was delicious. Spaghetti is also not good. The sauce doesn't taste good. The sauce didn't taste good either. I was craving soup so I ordered tomato soup, but adding spaghetti noodles made it even better.. ㅋ꙼̈…

The food was hearty and good. Great atmosphere, small and rustic. Staff very friendly. Unfortunately, prices are quite high. But that's probably how it is in Grindelwald.

We ate in the restaurant in December, but we didn't stay overnight. The food was GREAT. The meat was cooked to perfection according to our wishes and the taste was gigantic. The service was very friendly and the restaurant is in a good location near the Firstbahn. Great food at fair prices - by Swiss standards. We will be back

adequate service The steak was so burnt on the outside that it was so tough that a knife could not penetrate it well. The price wasn't that expensive for Switzerland, so I didn't expect much. I ordered a steak after seeing good Korean reviews, but was a bit disappointed. First of all, I can't recommend steak.

Restaurant was ok. The veal I got was very bland so I had to put a lot of Dijon on it. The tomatoes soup was amazing and presented very nice. This is an ideal spot for anyone going to the mountains.

We went to this place for lunch and the ambience is beautiful. I ordered a creamy schnitzel with mushroom sauce which was for 23 euros. The waitress said it contains pork but we can also make it in chicken if you like. I happily agreed as I am not a pork fan. The food was delicious. When the bill arrived, they charged me 25 euros for the schnitzel and 2 euros for the sauce. So in total, I paid 27 euros for a dish which actually was for 23 euros. When I asked, the waitress said she also thinks it’s incorrect and not logical but has to follow orders from the manager. This is nothing but cheating and should be informed beforehand. 4 euros of overcharging ruined my experience. Dishonesty is not appreciated and I would like the money back so hoping you make it correct by contacting me.

The best restaurant for Korean tastes This is the best restaurant I stayed in for about 7 days. Even my husband, who is a big fan of Korean food, says it’s the best. The schnitzel pasta is so delicious and the grilled steak in the steak salad is also the best. The menu had pictures and explanations so it was easy to order. The food tasted even more delicious because it was eaten while looking at the North Face of the Eiger, and the server was friendly. They brought mayonnaise and ketchup when I asked for them, and I enjoyed them very much, probably because I wasn't expecting Swiss food!! However, as all reviews say, you must protect your food from flies and bees.

The first restaurant I went to when I arrived in Switzerland. I had heard many times that Switzerland has very salty food and that there are only a few restaurants that are delicious, so I didn't have high expectations when I went there! Me, spaghetti bolognese and salad steak? I also ordered a small size beer and cola with tomato soup and the price was about 75 francs (Swiss price Dorabence). I highly recommend the delicious steak salad. The salad sauce is very delicious. I went for the tomato soup after reading reviews on Google, but it wasn't on the menu, so I ordered it separately. It was nice and hot. Later, I ate the soup with spaghetti bolognese haha. The reason I deducted one star is because the flies keep coming near me...hahaha. Three or four of them take turns attacking me hahaha. Other than that, the staff was friendly and the food came out quickly!

It was the first place I went to after arriving in Switzerland. The meal was very delicious and the service was good. Entrecote didn't smell like veal and was delicious. However, if you eat it when it is cold outside, it will cool down quickly so you have to eat it as soon as it comes out haha. Zuricher geschnetzeltes is a dish served with meat and mushroom sauce like potato pancakes, and it was delicious! (It's a little salty - most Swiss dishes are salty haha) And I ate tomato soup. It's really delicious. Since eating here, I've been obsessed with tomato soup and have tried it again every time I go, but the tomato soup here is the best haha ​​(out of the three restaurants).

We stopped to eat at the restaurant. The food is very good and so was the time it took to get our orders. Unfortunately, some of the staff was less than friendly when asked where is the restroom. She pointed then continued to tell my husband that she is there to make drinks not give directions. If you are not happy dealing with tourist costumers it's probably time to find a different job.

The chicken breast was tasty and not as dry as I expected, and the schnitzel was just okay, even though I didn't know it wasn't fried. The steak is good and all Swiss fries are delicious. I ate inside the restaurant and there were some flies. It wasn't too much of a nuisance, but it was annoying sometimes... It was an okay restaurant.

Alright food. We visited here in early September. They have a menu with pictures which makes it easy for foreigners to identify what the dishes are if they do not speak English or German. We both ordered the "Rahmschnitzel mit Nudeln". The meat was a bit dry and overcooked as well were the noodles. The service was friendly and the beer was good. All in all, an okay restaurant. Would most likely not visit again.

Very good food, good service, and friendly staff. Came here for early dinner and sat outdoor, didn't travel far (our hotel just across the street from this restaurant 🤣). We ordered the creamed schnitzel with mushrooms and noodles, and sirloin steak with french fries. Delicious, loved our food. The food came out fast. Finished the food so quickly and traveled back to our hotel. Very much recommended to eat here.

Yesterday we visited a local business along the way. Everything was great, our favorite Swiss food was perfectly prepared. The dark haired brunette was very friendly and helpful to us. She managed everything and everyone. He offered us the best and spoke to us kindly. Thank you and we will definitely visit again.

I visited because it was right in front of me as I came down from First. Even though I went there after lunch time, the ordering/food time was the fastest among all the European restaurants I've been to. The Rugenbräu was delicious, and I heard that Swiss schnitzel is not fried, so I ordered the cream sauce schnitzel. It wasn't anything special, but the sauce was good and it wasn't fried, so it wasn't greasy, so I enjoyed it. Other than a few flies, I don't think there are any downsides.

The restaurant served straightforward Swiss entrees. The creamy pork schnitzel with pasta was good (4 stars) and the veal sausage was okay (3 stars). The outdoor seating was inviting at the end of the main drag. Passersby seemed to be enamored with the gelato stand next door.

We just had dinner here and didn't stay at the hotel. We ordered a side of fries and two sides of pasta for our dinner. As a scenic spot, the prices of the dishes are reasonable. We all thought the taste was okay, much better than expected. So I gave it 5 stars.

Unacceptable service from the waitress in charge of taking notes, bad manners and no politeness.

We came here for lunch today and we want to highlight two things. First of all, he was good at eating. Second, the awful customer treatment we received at our table and the one next to us by the waitress who seats and charges people. A sample of this bad deal is below: 1. One of the girls who came with us is a vegetarian and we asked her the options and she left us almost speechless. 2. Next, when ordering the dishes we were saying how many dishes we wanted from one of them and we hesitated. 3. He didn't put the individual mantles on the table for us while he did on the table next to us. 4. One of the dishes has been left; the salad 5. The table next to him asked what kinds of beers they had and left him in a bad way. Nothing else, just that, if you have a bad day, people are not your bumper. Cheers to the end of the season.

Great meal for a great price! Wonderful service and a gorgeous view. Someone said there wasn't enough mushroom cream sauce. They gladly gave me more.

Wow, what a surprise after initial skepticism, because photos on the plastic card were more reminiscent of the kebab shop and the slightly chilly landlady. But it's all just superficial thinking. The food was super tasty without a lot of chi chi, rarely eaten so well, the landlady was very friendly. Some posh people can learn a lesson here. But in general, the Swiss can just cook.

We were looking for a delicious, typically Swiss Cordon Bleu and were not disappointed. We also received absolutely friendly service. Deserved all stars!

Service was nice, the location couldn't be better in my opinion. But my steak (Veal scallops with mushroom sauce with french fries) was dry. Like it was reheated from the earlier day. The sauce fixed it tho, it was nice.

We ordered the entrecôte steak (medium) and it was cooked to perfection! We also got the schnitzel with noodles and the only downside to the dish was that there was not enough of the delicious mushroom sauce. We had dinner at 5pm so the place was still quite and the service was good at this time.

After getting off the First Mountain Cable Car and walking for 1 minute, the restaurant had an average taste. The main point was that the waitress in black was rude and not polite at all to all Asian faces. During the meal, I observed that she was very enthusiastic and groveling towards European and American people and greeted them with a smile. The only thing about the two faces of Asians was that when I checked out, I told her that I had been discriminated against. She and I pretended not to understand. I repeated it loudly, and all the diners around heard it. Her discriminatory behavior polluted the beauty of Grindelwald.

Had a cup of hot chocolate and cup of coffee from Alte Post. The cups were good. This is located at the Grindelwald. Staff speak English and they were supportive in Translating the menu card to English. Their prices are bit expensive however in comparison to the other Swiss restaurants the prices looks similar.

Worst experience of micro aggression in this country. Giving two stars because the food was decent but waitress was quite rude and one could make the argument that she was racist. My partner asked if he could see a menu and was rudely told to go look outside (he had missed it initially). After we sat down, we waited a while and she hadn’t come back to set up our table so I had to go and grab two menus on my own. When she came to take our order, my partner had questions about an alternate menu he had seen and she rudely told us she would bring it over but the kitchen closes in 5 minutes. Now, none of this sounds overtly malicious but when you consider the race of the two people she served, the tone with which she spoke to us and the fact that she was all chummy to the caucasians next to us, I have to wonder why. You can tell people nicely that the kitchen closes soon. Also, why were all the Asian tourists given paper placemats while the other diners had red cloth placemats? Maybe it was busy and the waitress was having a bad day, or maybe she has an unconscious bias. I want to give her benefit of the doubt but it was a disappointing dining experience.

The landlord's recommendation fell short of expectations. Chops, cordon bleu, Viennese schnitzel and Zürcher Geschnetzeltes were the culinary highlights of the day. Nothing more than solid home cooking was offered. The feel-good charm is missing in the loud, narrow atmosphere. The simple presentation of the food was exemplarily crowned by two plastic bottles with ketchup and mayonnaise. Beer was delicious.

The restaurant is just around the corner after getting out from Grindelwald cable car station. The entrance was small with limited decoration therefore it is not that eye-catching. But the food is rather good with good selection of traditional local dishes. The prices are relatively fair compare to other sight-seeing places.

The staff at the store were bright, friendly, and made me feel very welcome. It was a recommended restaurant in Grindelwald that made me want to go again.

The service, food & general atmosphere was fantastic. The only issue was the army of flies hanging about, it made for a very frustrating dinner!

Like other reviews have said, waitresses and owners (?) yell at you and are just shockingly rude and mean. It was such an upsetting interaction, after simply asking for a table for 2. The woman yelled at us for no apparent reason, throwing her hands in the air because there were no available table. How could we possible have known that? 1 star is too much. Left a sour taste in my mouth about Switzerland in general. Fortunately other restaurants in the area were kinder.

You can't go wrong with a swiss view. Service was fast, and they were polite, but getting the check was difficult after asking 3 times. I've had better food and beer, but it was still decent.

Quaint little restaurant with amazing food! We had the beef stroganoff and the veal in cream sauce with noodles and they were both a solid 10/10. The vegetable cream soup was also one of the best I've ever had. I highly recommend for a good sit down meal after touring the great town of Grindelwald!

This is a wonderful Swiss restaurant where locals eat and drink. We were after some comfort food after our visit to Jungfraujoch. We had the schnitzel and the grilled sausage with beer and cider. Food was delicious with generous portion sizes. Reasonable prices. Service was great too. Five stars 🌟! Next time we’re visiting Grindelwald we’ll be back for more.

In no place in the world is it okay to yell at paying customers. But I guess that is what this owner does. We kindly asked if we could order just drinks which the waitress agreed too. When I took a few bites of a snack from the grocery store. For context, I’m hypoglycemic and can not let my blood sugar levels fall below a certain level AND on top of that have many dietary restrictions. The manager on staff decided to come out and yell at us repeatedly after trying to explain the situation and then continued to yell at us after I put my snack away. She disrupted the entire restaurant and made everyone feel uncomfortable. It was an extremely unenjoyable experience. Terrible service, guess they just want your Swiss francs?…they definitely don’t care about service, just leverage their view of mountains. According to the other reviews it seems like yelling at their customers is a common occurrence. Dine at own risk

Thought Swiss people were nice, for never being in a war…some of these folks are loud and rude, must be holding it in. Big boss lady was terrible restaurant owner and angry, basic misunderstanding regarding food allergy and starts yelling and no control of herself. Waitress a coward and provided no help. Sure the hotel is nice but terrible service at restaurant…angry people avoid.
