I was very disappointed with the dinner! Salmon tartare burger with buffalo mozzarella and tasteless guacamole, quality of salmon not at the top, mussels that didn't taste like mussels and very salty spaghetti with clams. Waiting to order about 20 minutes… For the quality they offer, the prices are exaggerated!

Very welcoming, informal place, furnished with particular taste. We tried two excellent fish burgers and a pleasant and fresh draft beer. The service fast and friendly. Prices a little high as in all of Switzerland but not exaggerated, also considering the quantity of the portions.

Very expensive and posh like few others. They serve sandwiches and sandwiches and charge them as if it were a banquet. You also have to be Panoli to go eat seafood or salmon in front of a lake in the Alps. I didn't choose the place, but I had to pay. For that price in Sanxenxo they give you three seafood dishes. If you are rich, go.

Never eaten worse fried food. I had dinner with my family, we ordered two fried dishes, both very dry and with a lot of salt. The octopus sandwich was terrible and perhaps the only one that survived was the one with tuna. Leave it alone!

We ordered spaghetti alle vongole from the menu. They were so spicy that it was impossible to eat. Although there was no mark of this anywhere on the menu. It seemed that spaghetti were raw and still needed to be cooked until al dente(

Very good. The only small flaw is that the sandwich is so enormous that a pre-cut would be fine (superfine ingredients torn to pieces are not ideal).

The restaurant staff was friendly and kind, but until a few months ago the plancha octopus was served whole at a cost of 28 CHF, while now practically only 4 small tentacles are served, maintaining the same price. If the portions are reduced, perhaps it would be appropriate to review the prices too.

This was an unexpected find for us. We decided to walk away from the tourist centre of Lugano and found this gem on the lake. Whilst we saw most of the patrons ordering fish burgers we went all out on a mixture of seafood. In fact we asked the waiter to bring us 3 Tapas and a main to share. The result was .. fish cakes... superb .. octopus... brilliant .. muscles... a tough one as we get the freshest mussels in the world in Cape Town .. a seafood platter of white fish, large prawns and calamari.... also brilliant. I highly recommend this spot for a great fish meal

I went to eat and I didn't think that a flavor could satisfy my palate so much, beyond this I must say that the tall, brunette waitress is truly a professional and kind girl, beautiful in a peremptory way. I think her name is Chiara, I think I'm in love with her, I would kill for her, in fact I did!

I'm vegan and since my friends went there I look at the menu and see some dishes available, I decide to go anyway. Even though we were on site at the beginning of the evening, the only vegan burger on the menu was not available. Rice balls, fried in the oil where the fish is fried. The fries ordered and never arrived. The salad very good.

We decided to go for a bite to eat for lunch at this restaurant. The menu is limited to a few dishes, at least at midday, among which the fish-based burgers stand out. An amarea and a langostino were our choice and I must say they deserved it. The bread, a michetta, well toasted; the first stuffed with fried octopus and the second prawns. Certainly, it is not recommended for those who want to eat every day during their lunch break... prices lower than average for Lugano but still linked to an offer of fish. Too bad about the view... you can only glimpse the lake...! Courteous and helpful staff, kitchen open until at least 2pm..., we arrived at 1.45pm, this is a plus for the area. Must try again!!!

Spectacular venue and amazing food! I ate a delicious octopus fish burger accompanied by chips which were super, it really felt like I was on holiday at the seaside. Fish burgers you absolutely must try, especially AMAREA 2.0 is the bomb! Super recommended, I will definitely return

The location is nice, rather outside the actual center of Lugano. The food was good and of good quality, although I wasn't crazy about my mixed fried food (photo). For next time I will try the burgers, which seem to be the strong dish of the house.

Terrible service, very slow. We went in at 8.30pm and ordered drinks, by 9pm nothing had arrived. After reordering the drinks at 9.00pm, we still did not receive all the dishes and side dishes (even though the restaurant was half empty). INDECENT service that will make us NEVER return.

Food is original but quality could be improved. The place is nice but noisy. The service is nice and helpful. Regarding delivery, they don't seem to pay lot of attention to the orders, we asked (and payed) for avocado... it did not show up :(

One of the most original places in Lugano! This restaurant offers a menu that is small at first glance, but with a beautiful variety of dishes in which the absolute protagonist is fish (and seafood): fried, raw or included in cooked preparations. From the many tapas that satisfy all palates (and the various levels of hunger that diners may have) to the imaginative burgers, which combine ingredients that are at first glance a little contrasting but which turn out to be winning combinations! I've come several times and I love the Amarea burger, which combines fried octopus, baked potatoes, rocket and the delicious basil mayo (imagine pesto mayo basically!). I find the bread improved compared to a few months ago (which I agree with some of the reviews which sometimes find it a little dry/crumbly). The twist bbq are nice paprikose and very good spiral chips that are not easily found in other restaurants. The place is sometimes a little noisy depending on the position you are in (even the music), but it is beautiful with sea-themed furnishings. The terrace overlooking the street unfortunately suffers from car noise, especially at lunch times. Young, dynamic and proactive service, with the team always super available to explain the various dishes and give advice. Slightly expensive prices but justifiable given the market niche they have taken.

Friendly waiters. The food is all frozen and they don't even serve it hot. You ask for 2 separate portions of calamari and they only bring you 1, according to them "abundant" to make you pay for 2, but they were absolutely not 2 portions. The octopus arrived burnt on top. We asked them to prepare a bag for us with the leftover stuff and they only put some in it. And as if that wasn't enough, they made a single bill on the receipt without showing the price of each dish and the cover charge. Prices were right.

Chosen at random for a quick dinner, Amarea turned out to be a very pleasant discovery. The staff is as exquisite as the food. Abundant and tasty portions, varied choice and decidedly high quality. Also highly recommended for vegetarians and for those who don't opt ​​for the famous burgers with various first courses and choices from the grill

As a vegetarian, I found a tapas dish of vegetarian meatballs and a legume-based burger on the menu and I found them both delicious!

I would give it 400 stars... I ate the pasta and it was good and full of raw materials. The next time, a little hesitant, I tasted two types of sandwich, one tuna, the other shrimp. Never eaten such good sandwiches. Well done!

I recommend making a reservation if you intend to eat in the evening. The food is well presented and the taste is amazing. One thing I didn't expect for the prices is that they are not at all shy with the portions in fact we left very satisfied. The guys working at the service were very friendly. Already thinking about the next time I'll stop by to eat.

We were waiting for the third guest and while we were waiting, without us ordering anything, they brought us two homemade bruschettoni, PHENOMENAL! For those who like fish in a modernized version, their burgers are amazing (with the charcoal bread, really light).

Good yes. Quality fish. Cool place. Fair prices for Lugano. But guys, the problem is the bread. Crumbled, tasteless and too dry. It's not burger bread... Considering that the menu says "fish burgers" you expect a softer and tastier bread, in short like that of hamburgers. Really, reluctantly I have to say that bread with white flour seems like the 2 cents michetta that they give you with Salamella at the village festival. I hope you improve on that because the rest is top. See you soon

Nice and well looked after place, the food is tasty and not at all heavy.

I finally managed to try it and it fully lived up to expectations. We ate some fried foods as an appetizer, nice, crunchy and tasty. The octopus was very soft! Then I had a fishballs burger which I really liked for the contrasts of flavors and texture. Note of merit for the honest prices of drinks, a sparkling water for fr. 4 in Switzerland is a rarity and the beers are also cheap. The only thing I didn't like too much was perhaps the background noise in the room.

The menu is nice and the "tapas" are excellent but the sandwiches are a little lacking in filling.

I had been waiting to go to this place for a year, I was curious about the menu options and the offer of gluten-free bread, even the photos of the dishes looked inviting and delicious... but maybe they were just photos! We ordered two prawn sandwiches, including a charcoal one. The probably overcooked bread could have been thrown against a wall because of how hard it was.. inedible!! Even the ingredients and compositions did not reach expectations in the slightest compared to the bill, 60 euros for two sandwiches and a water. The only positive note is perhaps the courtesy of the staff. The location and the alignment of Swiss prices are fine, but people expect quality first and foremost. Amarea we are right on the high seas!!
