I came here with family and had an unforgettable night. Quality of service was outstanding, particularly Igor was impeccable. The atmosphere was lively with a piano playing live all night. We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary (the one in church) because in reality it would be 31 years in civil life (29.08.1992), but since we will be on holiday on 29 August and it is usual for us to go to the lighthouse we opted to celebrate the event in church. What can I say, a pleasant, quiet environment as always, where you can talk without having to shout, an elegant/chic place, waiters attentive to our requests, excellent food, everything very fresh, TOP and fast service. We highly recommend it. We ate fish based, as in the photo you will see, accompanied by an excellent Rose HP de Provence wine, since there were two of us in the bottle, we didn't finish it, but don't worry, the waiter was very kind, he put the original cork back on and we he delivered it in a very elegant bag to take home. Without a doubt one of the best fish restaurant in Lugano. We ate a wonderful Rombo fish, fresh catch of the day. All accompanied by an elegant and welcoming environment. Special mention to the waiter for the great service, friendly and very competent. At the end of the dinner, home made sweets offered. What to ask for more! Super recommended. Bright green light! 🚦

The Al Faro restaurant in Lugano Paradiso is a quality culinary experience. Their menu offers a wide selection of delicious dishes, carefully prepared and attractively presented. The staff is professional and friendly, creating a pleasant atmosphere. However, parking can be a problem, with limited availability nearby. We had dinner on February 25. We had 2 glasses of champagne, 2 warm octopus salads, 2 sole meunière, 2 desserts (1 scoop of chocolate ice cream and my husband 2 scoops of lemon) and 1dl each of red wine, plus a bottle of still water, total of the 'addition 225 frs. Normal price. The soles were exceptional, but we would have preferred to have seasonal vegetables rather than just potatoes. We were really well received, the service was not too long and the setting was very chic and friendly. In short, a lovely evening.

Terrible food. After a salmon appetizer, which I left because I didn't like the smell, we had the famous "fish soup". I left that too, my husband only ate a little. You could feel that the fish was not fresh, from the smell and taste. What a disappointment!

We had dinner on Saturday 12 November 2022, reserving a table for four people. Dinner consisted of two courses for everyone, two desserts, four bottles of still water, a wine costing CHF 44. - and two coffees. The bill was almost CHF 500. - My husband and I ate their specialty, "Fish soup" Unfortunately, the next day we were very sick, due to food poisoning, due to the not very fresh fish. My husband almost ended up in hospital with diarrhea, vomiting and general malaise. It's shameful that you can't even trust a restaurant like FARO anymore!!!

We had our dinner at this amazing restaurant in August. It’s a world class restaurant specialized in seafood, starting with great welcoming by professional waiters, and the starters were super delicious and tasty. The main course of selection of fish were something beyond imagination. Our experience with the place is 7 stars. We highly recommend this restaurant for those who want to have a great time with luxury place and food.

Average good food for a restaurant in this price range. 235 chf for two people so I would say that you would be entitled to a high level of customer care. However, what irritated me is that I order a grilled fillet for 48 chf. The menu includes vegetables as a side dish, boiled carrots, boiled courgettes and baked potatoes. I kindly ask in Italian (here the official language is Italian so no Miss understanding!) "is it possible to replace the potatoes with a taste of porcini mushrooms?" The waiter replied yes of course! I thank. The fillet arrives (also nothing to do with the fillet migno from Morton Steakhouse in the USA which costs the same) with a side dish of a handful of porcini mushrooms, no more than a handful, also very oily to be honest. Naturally no potatoes as I requested to replace the side dishes. The bill arrives and I post it among the photos here on Google. I pay 48 chf for the filet as per the menu and I get the surprise of additional mushrooms at 28, I say 28 chf (which is not a side dish on the menu). I asked the waiter for clarification, specifying that I had verbally asked if it was possible to replace the potatoes with mushrooms and was told yes. I wasn't told that they would charge me an additional side dish at 28 chf (more expensive than the first one I ate which was a risotto at 24 chf!). I, the waiter, only specified to me at the time of the bill that the mushrooms were to be paid separately without even worrying about our disappointment and perhaps trying to mediate by offering a dessert or similar, I don't mean discounting the side dish. It should have been specified when ordering that the mushrooms were paid separately, that substituting the vegetable side dish on par was not possible without payment, that the handful of mushrooms cost 28 chf, and above all perhaps I could have also agreed to pay the mushrooms 28 chf as a side dish but then they would have had to bring me the default side dish for the fillet, i.e. vegetables and potatoes which I did not receive instead, despite paying 48 chf for the fillet and 28 chf for the handful of porcini mushrooms. In the end they not only made me pay for the replacement but also saved us the basal side dish! Very bad. And they didn't care about my complaints

Absolutely love coming here for seafood! We've been several times. The daily catch is always a good option, especially in the salt crust. I got a grilled lobster and it was amazing. Service is always lovely.

Delicious food, more than suitable quantity, delicate flavors and top quality of both fish and meat. I would also say the pastries are excellent, delights for the eyes and the palate. Extremely positive note for the kitchen. Very positive note also for the carefully themed furnishings of the place which was what we expected. As for the service, some things to review (a very kind and attentive waitress): *Difficulty finding our reservation from the beginning (which makes the arrival a little difficult), *rather hasty and inattentive waiters (many mosquitoes, waiter never came back to tell us whether or not there was a repellent spray available (I saw from the reviews that some guests have been reporting the mosquito problem for several days and I would therefore expect a be careful about it in such a place), very hasty to bring us the POS but no one present to greet us when we left, no greeting or look from the owner who was very busy with the reservation of a table of acquaintances..! Overall an ok experience because we had a good dinner, but our mid-August dinner lacked a little hospitality.

We have been 3 times to Al Faro and were always happy with the quality of food and service. Price is slightly high but you get what you pay. We will definitely come back when we visit Lugano next time.

The outdoor area is very pleasant and not disturbed by passing cars, a stone's throw from the lake. A "lighthouse" in catering in Lugano with a good relationship between quality and price.

Is ok. Not outstanding. Service gracious but he forgot our chocolate maybe cause it was closing time. Mediterranean Sea bass a bit of no flavor. The squid ink pasta with crab sauce a bit heavy. But tasty. I rarely mention price in my reviews but this was a bit over priced.

A typical fish restaurant. You have the fish and seafood under control wonderfully. But you should take the meat off the menu. The tartar came plain, unseasoned, garnished with anchovies. The beef fillet came cold. Very unfortunate. Since none of the cellars asked if it was good, I'm assuming you noticed we weren't happy. All in all a nice evening, nice ambience, which has its price. But the food should also be okay if you don't prefer fish.

4 of us had a fish-based lunch, ordered starters and four soles at 54 chf each, they tell us, there is only one, but we can make a turbot for two but enough for three. ok lunch, good food and great environment. After paying, in the evening I check the receipt, SURPRISE, 3 diamonds at 56 chf each. I find a turbot of just over one kg 168 chf without telling us the cost first. It is unfair and unprofessional. Disappointing surprise.
