Ammos in Luzern

This place is amazing. The staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful, there are perfect celiac safe options (gluten free certified), and they are very welcoming to dogs. The food is unbelievable. I haven't had this good of Greek food since I moved away from home, and don't have aunties to cook for me anymore. Fish is spectacular but would recommend anything on the list.

Last night we were guests at Ammos. From the reception to the food, the very friendly service and the great ambience, everything was great. Keep it up.

A wonderful ’find’ in Lucerne… every bite was delicious and presented with gusto and care! The Vegetarian Mousakàs was so yummy… as was the Àmmos Salàta with Chicken… so many wonderful flavors… Chris who greeted us was so welcoming… Stathis and all the servers we met were so friendly and attentive! This was a delightful contrast to the pervasive Swiss and Italian cuisine!

The food was very light and delicately seasoned; not doctored or stretched. Honest food, nice service and generally recommended.

The two of us ate there today and the service was very friendly and accommodating. However, the food is almost inedible and simply overpriced. You could still enjoy the starters, but our main course was inedible. Once bifteki and once souvlaki. The souvlaki wasn't cooked through, and the bifteki tasted like everything but the way a bifteki should. It's a shame, the place itself looks inviting. We've eaten at better Greek places. At the end the waiter apologized and tried to appease us with pastries and coffee, the coffee was miserable.

We spontaneously went to Ammos for dinner and were surprised by the courteous service. Nowadays my expectations for service are not as high as they used to be, but the staff at Ammos are simply fantastic! Together with the ambience and the fine food, we were able to spend a great evening there.

Nice atmosphere, friendly service but the prices are shockingly high for what you get: souvlaki (€40) with pieces of bone and tendons in it (not pork tenderloin but pork loin), pommes are half-baked chips! Too bad that you are also asked for a tip on a bill of € 133 for 3 people.

Well, I am Greek and live abroad since 2013. Neither in the UK nor in Switzerland I have enjoyed Greek cuisine until now. Ammos is the only exception! An authentic Greek restaurant that is much better than many other restaurants in my home country. Strongly recommended!!! Also, an incredible list of very good Greek wines.

As a Greek by origin who lived and travelled all over the world though I can tell with certainty that this is definitely a special restaurant where authentic Greek cuisine flavors meet with best Greek wines collections and Greek music from different eras. We came on New Year's Eve, with a last minute reservation. We were very well received by the entire team. Especially by the manager who ensured that we were in the best possible conditions. Just loved the service and food at Ammos. Also suitable for larger groups 1A! I wanted to reserve a table for 8 people on December 30th for January 1st, 2024 - no problem, which I found remarkable. A few more friends came along, so there were 18 of us in the end - and that wasn't a problem for Ammos either. Brilliant. The service at Ammos was simply wonderful, especially for the large group. Fast, attentive, friendly - although it may have been stressful (also because of us). To eat - we then ordered lots of antipasti and shared them with the group. Quality was great. “Delivery” is always quick too. I was there on January 1st, 2023 (a year earlier) and it was good there - it was great in 2024 too! Absolute recommendation!

A cafe of Greek cuisine, but food for Europeans who have never tasted Greek cuisine. The serving of dishes is not very good. The chef should be sent to Greece for an internship. The atmosphere and service are pleasant.

This Greek authentic restaurant is on the ground floor and easily accessible for anybody. Be very well received and got a table and menu. The waitress was very friendly and helpful and guided us with respect to the menu. service was quick and we got our starter. It was olives, dry tomato artichoke. Everything was very tasty. As main course I had moussaka and it was excellent! As dessert I had a brownie with coffee ice cream. I can well the recommend this restaurant and I think we will return here sometime.

Very cozy, spacious and bright restaurant. They serve you with kindness and speed. They advise you on their best dishes of the day. And they are attentive to every detail. Even giving you water when you no longer need it, because that way they take advantage of charging you for an extra bottle, even if it's from the tap. The food leaves you with a good taste in your mouth, the dip-garden as a starter is highly recommended, and the moussaka is exceptional.

The restaurant is very harmonious. You feel comfortable and you get a real holiday feeling. The service is very friendly. The food is served visually very beautifully. But: The taste of the food leaves a lot to be desired. Very very bland. Ready-made meals have more taste. Throughout the meal I searched in vain for any flavor. You can salt, but what you taste are the grains of salt. I wouldn't eat there again now. The evening before I was at a Korean restaurant, it was sensational, you experienced taste.

The food was good so far, the homemade fries were cold when served. The menu selection is nothing special. It was quick and very cold in the restaurant. Prices too high for performance.

Ammos is a lovely Greek restaurant with a river view in Luzern. The food is delicious and they have several vegan options. The waiters are helpful and kind. The view is magical - especially when it gets dark. Definitely a must-go place in Luzern! :)

A real Greek restaurant with all the best flavors of the country but also with such a friendly and pleasant welcome! Very nice quiet setting too. For our lunch, we chose several starters, each much more generous than expected, all delicious: octopus salad, Greek hummus (avocado), lamb meatballs with herbs and tomatoes, zucchini and cheese pancakes 👏😋😋😋👌 A great address without a doubt 👍👍

We stumbled upon it by chance while walking and were intrigued by the internal atmosphere. Lovely and welcoming place and very friendly but also professional staff. Typical cuisine masterfully interpreted. We tasted moussaka and lamb stew but I think the lamb was exceptional. Well done and deserve to be experienced.

They have a gluten free labels in the menu. I had a moussaka: gluten free and without meat. It was so delicious! The service was really nice. I strongly recommend this place.

I recently went to Ammos Restaurant and had a great experience! The restaurant was very clean and inviting, which I immediately noticed as a positive thing. The food was delicious and delicately prepared, and the staff was extremely kind and attentive. I really felt like I was in good hands and can fully recommend the Ammos restaurant. The best restaurant in Luzern in my opinion. I go at least once a month. Outside there is a beautiful view of the river.

This is a great restaurant if you're looking for Mediterranean food in Lucerne. We visited a couple of times on our trip, once just for drinks out alongside the river, and once for dinner. It was very busy at dinner time so I would recommend booking if you can. We ended up sitting outside but it was really lovely and peaceful on the street. Service was great and our food was delicious. Highly recommend the skewers!

We were there with our parents and the children. The warm and friendly atmosphere of the restaurant was very inviting. The service was excellent. The staff was not only very attentive, but also happy to take our special requests into account. With a stroller and older people in our group, this was truly a blessing. The welcome was warm and set the tone for the rest of our visit. The menu was extensive and offered some exciting dishes that we didn't know yet. I would particularly like to highlight the dolmadakia which were simply delicious and are certainly a new favorite. As far as value for money is concerned, the prices were absolutely fair, especially given the restaurant's beautiful location right on the Reuss. I would definitely recommend Ammos. The combination of delicious food, friendly staff and the excellent location directly on the Reuss made the experience simply great. Thank you very much, anytime again.

Not so good service...arrogant...price performance overpriced...gets your drink after the starter, absolute no go...and no attempt to say goodbye to the guest or leave a good impression...unfortunately disappointing

Such a fantastic experience in the heart of Lucerne. The view is spectacular. The food is delicious. The hosts were gracious. Recommend making reservations to get the best seats with the beautiful views.

Were here today for the first and certainly last time. Except we were still 2 tables occupied, the waiting time was therefore incomprehensibly long. The food was cold and the potatoes were like stones. I definitely expect more for these prices! The employee who served us was also very listless and never asked if everything was okay. The only good thing was the view. It's really a shame...

You shouldn’t say Greek cuisine(autocorrect wrote it cousin), because in simple words you aren’t a Greek cuisine , and the asking prices are so high that you can’t justify, you are asking 50fr for a piece of Musaka, really???? And it wasn’t nothing like musaka. And the souvlaki was sooooo bad, the worst!!! Only the service and the view was very good, nothing more.

We did not have a reservation but the hostess was great and able to accommodate the two of us with a nice table after a short wait. Service was very good and the food was excellent. I had the burger and my partner had the pork skewers. The food came out incredibly quickly.

Unbeatable location right next to the river, a throughly enjoyably dinner experience with wonderful staff. The deep fried cheese with the tomato confit and the filo pastry feta with honey were 10/10 delicious. The fava pea mousse was a little bland but a matter of personal taste. Would return and happily recommend!

The Ammos is a gem in Lucerne. The location can’t be better. The Reuss river with its pure and clear water nearly flows under your feet and you feel like being on a cruise. The decor matches the beautiful colour of the river and supports the cruise feeling. It is modern and classic. The service is exceptional. The owner is friendly, talkable, funny and the warm hospitality in person. His team is dedicated and supportive. They know what to offer and have good explanation for all their dishes, portions and procedures on how and what to eat in the Greek culture. The food is a symphony of taste. I can recommend the Dip-Garden for undecided as a starter (Meze). The Melisanosalàta dip has a perfectly roasted and smoky eggplant flavour and also the famous Tsatzìki is a feast. The traditional Greek Salad (Choriàtiki) comes with a good amount of Feta Cheese which can also be ordered as a vegan option. Another highlight of our Meze we had are the Dolmadàkia (rice stuffed vine leaves). Almost full after three Meze for two persons we anyway still ordered the all-famous Souvlàki. Also, because the owner’s cute little daughter mentioned that their French Fries are the best in the world. She is right! The fries are a mix of Crisps and French Fries. Round in shape and so tasty. Although being quite full after the Meze we finished the Souvlàki easily thanks to the mouth-watering taste of the whole dish which doesn’t let you stop eating. Finally, the desert couldn’t be left out due to the great choice. We wanted to order almost every desert but had to make a good and smart choice since we became very full after the Meze and Souvlàki. We followed the advice of the owner and took his favourite Baklavàs and the Lefkò Mosaikò. We felt like in Greek heaven and are coming back soon for more of this exceptional service, food and atmosphere.

Simple as always...Top quality, very good selection and advice/information about drinks/food (vegis are also welcome)...very friendly staff (you feel comfortable and warmly welcomed)...Prices as usual in the city. ..certainly the best Greek restaurants far and wide...reservation recommended, as it's almost always full on the weekend...we're always happy to come back...

I searched up non-Swiss, non-Asian offerings near the water and came up with this restaurant. Note: if you want guaranteed seating waterside call ahead for a reservation. We ended up waiting for awhile to get seated (queuing both indoors near the main counter and outside near the podium) We ended up with indoor seating which is pleasant with the hanging vine plants and colorful and cushy seating. The portion sizes for the starters and mains were perfect. The pork kebab was tasty. The octopus, squash blossoms and eggplant salad were very good. The ice tea and wines were okay.

Wow! This place was amazing! They seated us immediately during a storm. Our server was very attentive, and gave excellent recommendations. We had the hummus with pita to start and had lamb and pork kebabs for the main course! All of it was excellent. Great atmosphere, good food and great service! Highly recommend! She even brought us schnapps to finish our meal!

If you are looking for a break from the heavy Swiss food come here!! We did the variety dio option and the lamb meatballs. Literally every single dip is amazing. The pita is served warm/fresh. The lamb meatballs have one of the most complicated names so I'm not even going to try and spell it. I just pointed at the menu for the server. You can cut them with a spoon. So deliciously fall apart tender. Orange wine to wash it all down.
