Angkor in Zürich

Nice interior design, food (in the evening, à la carte) unfortunately unreasonably expensive (4 dim sim for 21.- as a starter), which is probably why there are no prices on the menu on the internet. Unfortunately the Pad Thai was totally boring. No wonder the place was almost empty on a Wednesday evening. It's a shame given what is actually such a great location in Puls 5...

Went there for a quick lunch and it was decent! I had the duck and it was tasty and also the portion was big for the price! Was overall quite tasty! The personel could be a bit more polite and they were quite rude sometimes with how they would talk in questions. Overall it is OK if you like Thai food

Unfortunately the food wasn't very tasty. The prices are too high for the quality of the food. The service was not at all courteous. The only good thing was the facility.

It's a shame that you can't see on the map which country the dishes come from. The selection is great, the prices for the food are at the upper limit. The beer prices are exorbitant. But I would still like to go there again.

I came here for my birthday with friends and made a reservation a month in advance. I mainly wanted to come for karoake as it is listed on the website, but sadly it does not exist anymore (please update your website!). The staff seemed pretty stressed out. I ordered two bottles of champagne for my table and the staff forgot to pour one glass for a guest. I wanted to order the mixed dim sum for the table and asked how many people does it feed. I guess the staff thought I and others asked how many pieces because they answered “for four”. As we were ten people I ordered two orders. The staff came back with four plates only and the two baskets of four pieces of tiny dumplings. We had to order another two and an additional appetizer to feed everyone. After we all ordered our food and received it, we did not receive enough plates. The staff seemed angry that we asked more than once for plates because he said I know, as he poured our drinks we ordered after we asked for plates. We all ordered dessert and finished it. Afterward the staff came and brought me the same dessert I ordered, and sang happy birthday. I was a bit confused, but also questioning why did you not present me this dessert before me ordering it 😂 It seems a bit unorganized here as there were a lot of guests and perhaps because we were a table of 10. Food was good but I would not come back here again.

The food was good but not according to the price. It was simply too expensive for what was offered. The mini spring rolls and dumplings on a plate for 2 are simply frozen products. Ambience is very good.

I don't understand the other reviews. We were there yesterday and there is no friendlier service than at Angkor. The service is impeccable and incredibly welcoming. The food is also very tasty and really excellent. Always worth an experience!

I invited 2 customers to Angkor for Christmas dinner (aquarium area). The location is bomb, the food is wonderful, the prices are salty and the staff is unfortunately not worthy in this price range.

Very nice decor, food OK without more, service not very professional (we asked three times for a second bottle of water, without any success), very high prices. Honestly, we found this place quite pretentious and disappointing.

As soon as you stand in front of the entrance, the restaurant leaves a wonderful impression. The restaurant is known for the aquarium section, where you can watch goldfish swimming around the dining table. It should be noted that you can only choose between 4 different dishes in this area. There is also the “normal” part of the restaurant, where you can sit at a table as usual and enjoy the delicious food. You can still go and see the aquarium part. The staff was very friendly. The food was also excellent and served quickly. It's worth a visit! Go and enjoy😉

very nice atmosphere, but that was about it… the food was alright, but definitely over-priced, even for Zurich… we were four friends, in somewhat of an empty restaurant and each dish came separately rather than being severed together… not sure i’ll give it a second chance.

Fine-dining Asian fusion restaurant with beautiful decor. Enjoy your meal while watching large Koi swim around your table. Large selection of dishes originating from different Southeast Asian countries, mostly Cambodia and Thailand. Fast and friendly service.

Not worth the money at all, spent over 400 and the food smelled had no authentic taste whats so every. Although the atmosphere was good but the waiting staff never had smile very rude. Wouldnt recommend at all!!

The ambience is unique! No matter whether in the koi tank, in one of the separate rooms or in the hallway! At reception and service you can be unlucky and catch someone who obviously just wants to ruin your evening. You should be suspicious when the menu offers over 50 dishes - spread across Asia. Anyone who expects quality is unfortunately completely wrong. You wait a long time for measly portions that don't even really taste good. It has nothing to do with the original dishes of the respective region anyway. Beautifully presented on beautiful dishes, but unfortunately a disappointment that was far too expensive and not filling. My tip to the restaurant: reduce the menu to authentic Cambodian cuisine, prepare it fresh and hire friendly staff!

Too expensive for not so fine food. The food was undercooked and portion size was small. A plate of spring roll was just one spring roll split in two halves!! After eating here, we went to eat properly at the street food festival which was happening just on the opposite ground. I would not recommend this place for people with good appetite.

Good food, problem is portions are very small on take-away, paying 30CHF for a dish that is half full is only taking profit, and not looking after the customer!

The food and selection is good. Everyone can decide for themselves whether 20.- Chf for 3 satay skewers is appropriate. The only positive thing I can say about the service itself is that we didn't have to order anything twice. I was negatively surprised by the inattention, the speed and the disinterest of the service staff.

Had reserved a table for 4 people at 7:00 p.m. When we arrived we were given the menu and wanted to order the drinks straight away, but after 20 minutes the waitress still hadn't come to us. We couldn't order food or drinks. Other guests had also arrived 10 minutes after us and already had drinks on the table and were being served. Once and never again!! I expect more from a restaurant in the higher price segment!

Today we were at Angkor again after a long time, the service and the treatment of the guests leaves a lot to be desired. We ordered a dish with prawns for 39.50chf. When the shrimp dish was served, we couldn't believe our eyes. We were served 5 small shrimps. We then politely asked why the dish with 5 small shrimps was so expensive, and we were given the following "Other guests have never complained about the price and if they don't like it, they can go to another restaurant." It wasn't the price that shocked us, but rather the way a manager treated and responded to guests who asked a polite question . The art of dealing with guests should also be learned. You don't just sell the dish but how you present the restaurant to the outside world. My husband proposed marriage at Angkor 10 years ago. The staff were so polite and accommodating that we then decided to have the wedding dinner straight away. We're still raving about it now.

Our favorite restaurant everytime when we go to Zurich. For me Thai food in Angkor is the best in Switzerland, beautiful place, good location, staffs are friendly… Amazing good job Angkor - hopp hoop 😜🫰🫶

The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the staff give you a friendly welcome. After you order drinks, it takes a little longer until the dishes are served. My duck with pan cake is great and a pleasure with the teriyaki sauce. The price is rather in the high segment and therefore not always worthwhile. Great experience for an evening.

Aquarium table review: The one star belongs to the nice service lady, I feel sorry for her for having to deal with the complaints every time! The meal for 3 people: fried starter platter, main course: 6 pieces of shrimp, 1 piece of duck breast, 1 plate of vegetables, a little rice, for all 3 people together😅🥶 There was no after-service upon request. For 300.- without drinks!!! Food is mediocre good. Huge rip off!!! I'm from the catering industry and the menu isn't worth 40 francs per person, in this quantity.

Very arrogant and unfriendly employees...it took about 20 minutes until they accepted the order. When I wanted a spoon, the waiter just looked at me and moved on - you could tell he wasn't interested (he was wearing a green T-shirt) Otherwise the food was ok.

Once upon a time it was crazy, to be honest, the types of food were terrible, I loved it. To be honest, the duck meat with coconut milk was terrible, the pasta was also good, and even the salad was overpriced.

Yesterday we reserved a table for the evening and arrived about 15 minutes beforehand. We were greeted by a slightly larger lady with glasses and very long black hair received and since the restaurant was full, We were told to wait at the entrance. About 10 minutes later a couple who had also reserved a table arrived came into the restaurant. These were then led directly to a table by the same lady, even though we were there before. We then had to wait another 10-15 minutes and only with emphasis were we then (probably by the boss herself) finally brought to the table. The service is generally super friendly, but the lady with the glasses and the long black ones Hair is very unfriendly and has no charisma at all. She doesn't have us right welcomed and served. For example, she brought us food and we thanked her. Came from her no reaction. We are regular customers at this restaurant and we have noticed this many times She doesn't seem to enjoy working there that much. There is one in such a restaurant Such behavior towards customers is not at all appropriate. In our opinion this is Person not in the right place. She should take an example from the other employees, who are always friendly and also have a certain charisma. Hopefully some action will be taken in this regard. In any case, we don't want anything to do with her be served more.

I chose this place without any prior knowledge about it. I am spoilt rotten by Asian restaurants in London so I was quite cautious and did some research before booking a tablefor a colleague banker and myself for a business luncheon. And this was perhaps one of my best possible gastronomic experiences in Zurich ever. Swift, efficient and polite service, delicious food and adequate pricing. Nexy time I am in the area I am going there again, no question.

The restaurant is very nicely decorated. The food was very good and you get a large portion for 6 people. You pay around 100 per person to eat with the koi fish. If you want to eat differently go for it 👌. But a bit too expensive for my taste.

Still sports the impressive interior design reminiscent of angkor temple stone carvings. The main reason to come here doesn't live up to what it was a few years ago... The food/price ratio is not ok and bordering obscene, even for Zürich: e.g. 48 chf for a small plate of meat with some sauce. Looking like a Cambodian retaurant and filling the menu with chinese, thai and japanese dishes is not ok. Add the fact that this *Cambodian* restaurant doesn't have Angkor Beer is just sad. Combine with a set of highly indifferent (not to be mistaken with Asian reservedness and deference) staff and you will have a less than ideal feeling when the bill comes along. This could be a great place with just a few changes.

Today we ordered from Angkor via eat.ch. I had Pad Thai with shrimps for 33.- The taste was good but unfortunately the noodles were completely sticky...they were also rather economical with the prawns...for 33.- I expect more than 3 pieces.... I ordered the Pad Thai without onions. Unfortunately that didn't work either. We certainly won't be ordering there again.

The takeaway for lunch is great.

I've been a customer for years and it used to be really good, but unfortunately; the quality of lunch menus is constantly decreasing. Plates have also become smaller. Chicken still from Brazil. Recently ordered Szechuan beef a la carte for lunch. Tough gray meat with clear haut goût...that's it for me, goodbye Angkor.

A bit old, I used to go there often. The food was good, the tea had little flavor (but I'm not a tea expert).
