The Asiaway in Zurich Oerlikon was IMHO once the best Vietnamese restaurant in the city. Actually our favorite restaurant and a real insider tip. Unfortunately, the quality of the service and food has deteriorated drastically over the past few months and is currently no longer recommended. The PhoBo used to be absolutely authentic, like on the street in Hanoi. Today it consists of sticky rice noodles, poor quality round meat, is also prepared incorrectly and served without the traditional accompaniments such as lime, coriander, etc. On our last visit, ordering a drink took around 40 minutes. The entire restaurant was completely filled with smoke because the ventilation in the kitchen hadn't worked for two days - basically the restaurant shouldn't have been opened at all. By the way: I say that as a heavy smoker. When the completely overwhelmed staff brought us the wrong drinks, then the food from other guests and the picture fell off the wall at the neighboring table, we got up and left before ordering our food.

Yummy authentic Thai and Vietnamese and lovely staff. We came here on a beautiful Friday night and found a table outside. We had a tasty Vietnamese Beef Salad with rice vermicelli, a beautiful green Curry and a Red Curry both with Chicken, and a delicious Pad Thai. Luckily we did not order starters as the mains were big. We took a fair bit of time to order as we couldn’t make up our minds. The staff were super friendly, patient, and helpful.

My favorite place in Zurich for pho and a favorite place in general for delicious food! It really hits the spot for me. While my favorite is the pho beef brisket, their other dishes are also tasty! A few favorites of mine: shrimp summer rolls, crispy spicy squid, mushroom + morning glory, red curry, and their vermicelli bowls! Staff are always warm and accommodating; the ambience of the restaurant is always chill. I guess what I’m saying is you really can’t order anything wrong here. Walk in is usually possible on weekdays but weekends you’re better off making a reservation!
