Free parking space outside the restaurant. Nice restaurant setting. Homely. Attentive staff. Ordered two sets with deer meat and crepe suzette. The amuse bouche was tasty. Ordered medium rare meat but it came medium well. A bit disappointed. I'm general, we had an enjoyable lunch.

I really liked the perch fillets. For price reasons I opted for 4.- to take 2 services of perch fillets. The atmosphere is chic, but there is a lack of space. Easily accessible parking space for the disabled.

I didn't know, so it's good without being transcendent, the tartar sauce tasted too much like oil (?) and the waiters sell you the place as "the place to be" but honestly I've already eaten perch much better and above all cheaper (from Lake Geneva too!), the price is exorbitant! Too stiff for me

Too bad, excellence is no longer there. Two services of perch fillets, the first too dry for fries too, the second the perch perfect for fries too. Desserts without cutlery 5 min wait to finally have the cutlery, special request for a dish completely skipped... The service has deteriorated and the food has become "no more".. too bad. Nice discovery of this restaurant in Buchillon. The products are fresh and of very good quality. The service is pleasant. We ate on the terrace, a little view of the lake, it's nice. A little noisy due to construction but that's not their fault. We tried the party menu at 110frs. Not disappointed. Everything is good and presented nicely. A good, pleasant time we had.

After hearing Au Vieux Navire was THE place to have dinner overlooking Lac Leman, we arrived excited and left feeling rather ambivalent about our whole experience and won’t be going back. Initially we were pleased because we were told unlike other reservations, we would not have a time limit to dine. Upon arrival however, staff told us our 6PM table on the terrace would not be ready for 45 minutes. So we bought some wine and waited. By the time we were seated the entire terrace was full and it had been a full hour since we arrived. We settled on the prix fixe menu and sampled the filets de perche and filet mignon de boeuf, both of which were enjoyable. We had dismissed the initial delay as an oversight since the food was good, but when we followed the waiter’s recommendation and ordered dessert (one hour after sitting down), we were informed the dish would take too long to prepare for the time limit on our table. Staff informed us that in order to have dessert we could move inside their empty dining room to continue. Disappointed, but wanting to finish our meal on a high note, we went inside and enjoyed a decent dessert. We left feeling as if the restaurant has been riding on an outdated reputation. There are other options in the area nearby with comparable food, far better service, and a much more positive experience.

Beautiful location, wonderful setting on the terrace with stunning views of the lake. Small aperitif with champagne and strawberry-passion fruit champagne cocktail. The latter was very well prepared with the subtle side of strawberry and passion fruit without being too sweet, a great success. Their salad with their legendary and incomparable sauce is always just as magical, we can't get enough of it. Second starters with fresh goat's cheese quenelle and tastings of perch fillets, absolutely nothing to complain about, simply delicious, well done and thank you. A little disappointment when we received the entrecôte (stale on the bone for 21 days) and the beef fillet, which clearly lacked cooking. Both were "blue" even though we had asked for rare, it's ok, it can happen but when we asked the waiter to cook them a little more we would have appreciated the simple humility in admitting the mistake rather than try to justify it by citing the size of the pieces of meat which in no way excuses the cooking which is supposed to be mastered by a professional. The second cooking was more satisfying and it must also be said that the pieces of meat were of high quality. 2nd little problem: the fries. Having come to Le Vieux Navire several times in the past, I was also delighted with the matchstick fries which were by far THE best I had tasted, I was disappointed with the fries which seemed industrial or even frozen. When talking to the waiter, first response: they are matchstick fries. We told him "no, obviously not" and he ended up admitting that they had finished the matchstick fries and had to replace them with others. We would have liked to be notified when ordering and not at the end of the meal. Back home, looking at the photos from the last 2 years on Google it seems that they haven't been making matchstick fries for a long time. They may have been artisanal but hard to believe and also slightly lacked cooking (personal taste). Once again we would have preferred honesty and transparency from the start. For dessert, unfortunately we were not able to have it on site, due to lack of time, so we had to take it away. The chocolate truffle was really good. The chocolate cake... WOAW! It exceeded all our expectations. We think you should enter it in a competition, because it is by far the best chocolate cake we have ever eaten. On all levels, incredible taste and absolutely perfect textures. Everything you expect from a chocolate cake worthy of the name. We had a very nice evening despite these 2 little hiccups and thank you for that. We look forward to coming and trying the experience again, even if only for the famous salad and the incredible softness. THANKS !

An institution regarding perch fillets which persists over time. The setting is always warm and the service always attentive. If you book in advance, don’t hesitate to ask for a table on the terrace. We had the scallops as a starter followed by the traditional “Vieux Navire” menu. Composed with a salad with its special sauce and old-style perch fillets. Nothing to say, everything was perfect without any false notes.

After several always positive visits, today we were very disappointed with the dishes. The service was lovely, no complaints there! But in terms of dishes, the presentation left something to be desired. The perch were OK despite the excess fat on the plate. The chocolate profiteroles were in reality chocolate with profiteroles... these poor little choux were bathed in a pool of chocolate sauce with a bitter aftertaste. For the softness, it was missing a little bit of cooking but it was okay. We were left hungry this evening, it remains to be seen if we will repeat the experience. Because looking back a little bit, today might not have been a good evening (I hope so)!

First visit to this local institution. We really ate the best perch fillets of our existence there. Another Oscar for the truffle dessert, a real killer. Less fan of their famous salad, maybe 30 years ago it could have caused a sensation, but it remains ultra basic: a little greenery with sauce. In summary, they are very strong in storytelling, the promise is kept in terms of taste but visually on the plate it is disappointing, a little “old school”.

Until about 1 year ago it was "5 stars". Be careful, now the quality is dropping (perch, fries in particular), the service too and the presentation on the plate as well. It's no longer as "fresh" and succulent as it used to be. The service is a little more haughty, especially from the head waiter (the other waiters, however, are rather nice). It's a bit of a shame for a restaurant that is (or soon "was?") in our hearts. We went there with joy and left with a smile. You have to pull yourself together! We have the impression that you are living on the reputation of the past and that it still “works on its own”. But loyal customers who leave and say so, that will weigh. We hope it was just 2 bad experiences in a row. We're going to try one last time. We are very sad to write this comment. For now and in view of the past, we give 4 stars.

We have been visiting this establishment for 20 years and we used to often come and eat with family. I am extremely disappointed and outraged by the professionalism as well as the dishes served, in particular the perch fillets which are dipped in oil, reminiscent of chicken nuggets where there is more breading than fish. The presentation of the plate already makes the dish tasteless to the eye. The fries told us that they are homemade but in reality frozen, no taste. So the plate is filled with oil from the perch fillets. We made comments during the first service but it didn’t change anything for the second service. No more professionalism for a big restaurant like that…. More than 60.- per person without dessert for a dish that would have been much better in a fast food restaurant….. NOTHING TO HAVE ANYMORE WITH THE PAST!!!

We returned and were able to enjoy this beautiful terrace, well sheltered from the sun, with a breathtaking view of the lake. The staff is attentive and pleasant, quick to correct a small error. So I was able to follow my guests eating their starter while waiting for my main course. Once arrived, I tasted it with relish, it was a perfect egg. Indeed the food was well served and delicious. Parking nearby. Reservation essential. Good welcome. We will come back to this.

Is there still a need to praise the merits of this Buchillon institution? This small restaurant which once served excellent perch fillets, roast chickens and eventually steaks, was taken over by a Captain who knew how to infuse the Vieux Navire with a new identity, respectful of the past but bringing a marked touch of gastronomy. The staff is smiling, welcoming, professional without being stuffy and knows how to tell you the story of Crêpes Suzette by concocting them in front of you. The menu is beautiful but the only problem is that each time, we would like to taste...but we come back to their delicious VN style perch fillets. Desserts should be classified as dangerous weapons as they delight gourmands. Lovely bottles but we would appreciate a few other local winemakers from time to time. From May 1st, opening of the terrace, a green setting with a view of the lake. A real joy every time. Reservations highly recommended.

In the heart of a small, friendly village on the banks of Lake Geneva, hides this wonderful establishment. The welcome is provided with extreme kindness even without reservation (and on two occasions). It is still advisable to do it, given the success and the few empty tables. The service is impeccable throughout the meal, with good advice and information on the day's suggestions. As well as for food and wine pairing. Arctic Char is quite simply a refinement for the taste buds. Beautiful showcase of this fish with wonderful preparation and presentation. The room is very nice in winter or in cool and rainy weather. On the other hand, for beautiful days under the sun, the terrace and the view of Lake Geneva are magical!

We discovered this restaurant last week. Very good service the meal was very good products prepared without fuss but very delicious. I had the perch fillets which were very good and fresh, my partner had the lobster which was also very good. A word of advice: don’t overdo the fries if you have the crepes suzettes for dessert!

Already when you arrive in the restaurant the smell of fat hits your nose. With so many good reviews we still wanted to give it a chance even though the desire to leave was great! Basically: dirty place, grease stains on the menu, very dirty floor, waiter with lack of hygiene who scratches his nose and cuts bread at the same time. For the food it's a shame. Non-Swiss perch fillet without it being specified, fatty and tasteless, frozen and soft fries. A real canteen plate... but the price is nothing like a canteen: 180 CHF for 2 fillets of perch and a bottle of chardonnay for 40CHF. It's time to redo the room, give it a clean and review the kitchen and the suppliers.

Personally, I had the pike quenelle and I was delighted 🐟 Same story with my table neighbors who respectively opted for the perch fillets and the beef entrecote. Lobster perch fillets and excellent tasting and very well presented. The desserts are also worth the detour. The terrace is magnificent. The staff is very friendly. The only downside is the slightly slow service, probably due to insufficient staff for the crowds on a Sunday because the servers really seemed to be doing their best. In short, to recommend if you have time to enjoy.

Really nice restaurant. Have visited it for the first time and had famous Filet de Perche and it was delicious. The staff was friendly and efficient in their work. Planning to be back for sure :)

Not crazy crazy. However, I had good memories from several years ago. The food was expensive and average quality, not much seasoning. The place wasn't super clean either, there was a rather noticeable layer of dust as well as strange stains against the wall. Maybe we had a bad day?
