Yesterday I was able to enjoy a wonderful 4-course menu with my companion. The service and the ambience were great. Overall, despite the slightly higher prices, the restaurant is highly recommended.

Pleasant restaurant with good service, good food and amazing espresso. You can then buy panetone at home.

Watch for the fine print. Each plate you ask to share costs 10 CH even after you tell the one grouchy waiter that you changed your mind once informed of the fine print on sharing, and don't want to share, and then order only 2 items. The nice waiter of the 2 servers got us a $10 forgiveness of the $20 charge asked for on the plates we were forced to share. The pasta sause was nondistinctive and the pasta shells al dente to a fault. The monk fish was ordinary but the accompanying sauce was delicious. The grouchy waiter did a hard sell after the meal on ⁵a huge can of sweets and was clearly miffed at our refusal. Thanks to the nice young waiter for being a gentleman.

We liked the restaurant and the service, which is very friendly and client-oriented. The food was delicious and at a good price! The only minus is that it is not friendly to non-smokers: there is no arrangement on the terrace for a smoking free zone.. so if you are a non-smoker, you basically cannot be outside :( Well, it’s a smoker-prioritising world :( My recommendation is to make a terrace smoking-free and arrange a specific smoking area somewhere, as many other gourmet restaurants do

Lovely dining experience. Set 5 course menu. Recommend the white Ticino Merlot. Great service too. Not your usual "swiss service". Our waiter Alessio was very attentive and also gave us more recommendations to continue the evening after the dinner.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Agapé and it was a great experience. The menu is diverse and well-curated, offering a range of Italian and Mediterranean-inspired dishes made with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. Everything we ordered was beautifully presented and tasted even better than it looked. The wine list was also impressive, with a great selection of local and international wines to choose from.

A great experience! The discovery menu is worth it, creative and tasty. Lactose intolerant, no problem, the chef has adapted his dishes. Impeccable, attentive and very professional service. I highly recommend even if the decor gives the impression of being in a Lady Gaga music video. The whole thing is coherent!

Wonderful place! We were made very welcome there and ate very well.

There were four of us as a family and we were thrilled. The waiter translated information about the dish and was extremely attentive and friendly. The food is innovative and simply great. Definitely deserves more than 13 Gault Millau stars. The chef introduced himself personally and was also extremely cordial. Ambience also great. All in all, definitely a must in Lugano!

This is the second time we have gone to dinner in this corner of sensorial paradise. Like the first time, we chose the surprise menu, with the creations of the chef who never disappoints, surprising us with his magic! Gentlemen.. from a broccoli you have produced a dream appetizer, I would like to be able to convey to you the emotion that shines through in each of your dishes, but I think that the only way to feel all this is to try it first hand. If you want to find quality, kindness and creativity in Lugano, you are in the right place. In addition to the unequivocal goodness of the dishes, I also want to emphasize the service, Alessio and his colleague made us feel spoiled by giving us all the attention necessary to make the service perfect, they clearly went beyond expectations. If you want to try something unique and spend a special evening in a relaxed and pleasant environment, this place is for you.

Restaurant with a poor menu and very bad service as if you only take bar service you will be turned away in a bad way. All of this makes you wonder why the place was almost without customers on a Friday evening in the center of Lugano.

This restaurant was truly a great discovery: the staff is very kind and attentive, the menu is refined (with few dishes), the dishes are a joy for the sight and the palate, the prices are in line with restaurants in the area ( but this is less chaotic than those in Piazza Riforma). I highly recommend it!

Location: very comfortable inside. It's nice on the outside, but the proximity to the road makes it quite noisy. Service: really very satisfied, professional service and although there were only two waiters I never had the impression of being left out. Cuisine: we tried the tasting menu. Nice presentation of the dishes, without exaggerating. Nice mix between Ticino and Southern Italian tastes. Everything really delicious! Wines: wine list a little sparse. They don't have much and few particular vintages, certainly a point on which we can improve. Conclusion: Truly a great discovery for Lugano, I highly recommend a visit with a seat inside the restaurant and trying the tasting menu with wines by the glass.

Great location for this restaurant, right on the lake with an excellent view. The food was very good, but very small portions for the prices. But yes, it's Switzerland. It was swarming with waiters and waitresses. There was a junior and a senior head waiter. Organizationally, it was a complete disgrace for this personnel build-up. The only person who still had the whole thing under control and an overview was the senior boss. He knew what had to be done and was good at delegating, but the rest of the group somehow wandered around without a plan, and so you had to wait with time delays and up to three-fold rushes until what you wanted landed on your table. It's a shame guys, you could do a lot more if the errand boys and girls celebrated the event in a more concentrated and organized manner. Nevertheless, thank you very much for the evening. The view and the ambience made up for a lot.

In one word: fine. Delicious food and super nice service. The surprise menu included a course with squid, normally not chosen by the fafel lady. Here it was prepared in such a way that even she liked it, hurray and congratulations. The portions are not small so make sure you are "hungry". The same also applied to the accompanying wines. The very friendly service only happens once a year.

Top service! Nice atmosphere, high quality food, unfortunately little choice & smaller portions but with a lot of enjoyment!

Exceptionally overpriced and underwhelming

We had the four course meal. The menu was a surprise. And we loved it! Quality was outstanding in presentation and taste. And quantity was not wanting. We struggled somewhat to finish the very good dessert. The excellent service made our dinner a memorable one. It was the best dinner we had in Switzerland thus far!

A hidden gem. Truly. Try the chefs tasting menu and you won’t be disappointed. The variety is incredible. Quality unsurpassed. What is most impressive is they change the entire menu every 7 days. Close for two days and reopen. Parking can be found a block away. Service top notch. I’d return here once per week if I were a local. This would be my first choice of Lugano restaurants. Period.

Nice restaurant, great service. Portions nicely prepared, but not suitable for hungry people. The only disadvantage is that the outdoor area is not separated from the busy main road. Very noisy when there is a traffic jam and you can practically see the guests eating. A privacy screen would be more pleasant.

First visit at Agapé for lunch time. Agapé position is central, they have a terrace which is very enjoyable during summer. The concept is simple, bistro style with a gastronomic, gourmet vision therefore small menu, fresh ingredients and a keen eye on the presentation. Cuisine influences from Italy as well as France. Today we were a party of three. We had a carpaccio de loud de mer with peach dots and lime and pomelo dices. Followed by a risotto with chanterelles and zucchini, a risotto with tomato, stracciatella & shrimps and a iron steak with radish ravioli. Lunch was rounded up by a café gourmand (oh so French, oh so nice!). We all enjoyed our dishes, portions are correct and reflect their concept. Service very friendly and welcoming at all time. Prices: middle range We recommend and will be back soon.

We arrived one hour before closure and yet we took the 5 courses menu costing 89 CHF. The service was fast :). The food was quite elaborate and gourmet. It was overall tasty and enjoyable. Unfortunately the appetizer and another dish were too salty. The veal was sometimes hard to chew but other bites were quite tender. The wines were good. The service was excellent.

We were in Lugano for a few days. After a long walk along the lake, we just wanted something small to eat and looked for a cozy place to eat and/or drink. The exterior of the Agapé restaurant immediately caught our eye. Although it is located directly on the street, we found the garden area very stylish and comfortable to linger. Unfortunately, the small menu selection on the menu didn't match what we were actually looking for. And yet we were able to decide on a small starter: fortunately, because what we were served was absolutely amazing... simply magical in terms of taste and appearance. According to the staff, the menu is kept extra small, but they want to put a lot of effort into preparing the dishes. They absolutely succeeded!!! The service was very polite and attentive. The waiter's counter-suggestion of white wine was also an absolute hit (we went for a Chardonnay, but he suggested the Etna). Thank you for the conviction and the fine wine! All in all, we can only warmly recommend the Agapé. Top!

We went on a Thursday evening for an aperitif; I appreciated the outdoor space of the garden and the atmosphere created by the music, the cocktails were normal and the food was good. The waiter was kind but not very professional in his manner and I think that if they paid more attention to the presentation of the tables instead of leaving them completely empty, they would be more welcoming.

If you want to treat yourself to an excellent, unusual meal in the center of Lugano, go to the Agapé restaurant. My experience will help you help others. Enjoy your meal

Volevo assaggiare qualcosa di nuovo per me. Questo posto ha fatto al caso mio. Non tutti gli abbinamenti erano correti al mio palato, ma il gusto è totalmente personale. Impeccabili e innovativi.

Nous avons passé un très bon moment entre amis. Cuisine créative et de qualité (nous avons pris le menu découverte avec 5 plats), accueil chaleureux et cadre très cosy. Nous avons également apprecié les produits vendus côté épicerie (une tuerie, le cake au pistache!). Une adresse que nous garderons pour de prochaines visites à Lugano.

C'est un restaurant gastronomique. Nous y sommes allés en famille et avons été très bien accueillis. Nous nous sommes laissés surprendre par le menu du chef. 5 plats servis, magnifiquement bien présentés, plein de surprises et de découvertes gustatives de l'entrée au dessert. Absolument délicieux! Seul bémol, les asperges un peu trop salées à mon goût, mais le reste était succulent. J'ai adoré me faire conseiller sur les vins en lien avec les plats du chef. Le cadre est sublime et malgré le printemps frileux en soirée, nous avons pu manger sur la terrasse, abrités par les galeries et chauffée par un chauffage extérieur. La terrasse donne sur la route, un peu bruyant parfois. Cela reste la meilleure expérience culinaire de notre séjour en famille à Lugano.

The reason why we return often and with pleasure to Agapé is that the flavors and combinations of Chef Butti and Messina's dishes are extraordinary. The menu is constantly evolving, follows the seasonality of the ingredients and the quality of the raw materials is of a high level. The attention, kindness and professionalism of the staff complete the pleasantness of the experience. Agapé is also formidable in the preparation of both sweet and savory leavened products... it's a treat at all hours!

Finalmente ho trovato il ristorante che fa per me!Ne avevo sentito parlare da conoscenti entusiasti e a mia volta ho voluto provare.Una sera in compagnia di mia moglie, mi reco in questo piccolo ristorante dall'aspetto semplice, senza pretese nel centro di Lugano. Una giovane donna (rivelatasi la direttrice), ci accoglie sorridente e ci fa accomodare al tavolo. L'ora tarda ci fa optare direttamente per la cena senza passare dall'aperitivo. Ci viene consigliato il menu découverte, (un menu di 5 portate senza conoscere gli ingredienti). Dall'amuse bouche al dolce (rivelatosi il mio piatto preferito, insolito negli abbinamenti ma di grande maestria) dei piatti con materie prime di qualità. Non le più nobili del mercato ma sublimate con precisione. Gli chefs (si sono 2) sembra che non vogliano vincere facile con prodotti nobili ma giocano la carta dell'inventiva, del lavoro minuzioso e abbinamenti inconsueti ma coerenti.Una bella serata in questo piccolo locale del centro che aspettava solo di essere scoperto. Finalmente l'ho trovato e tornerò nuovamente.

Endroit découvert au hasard avec TripAdvisor. Nous avons pris le menu découverte qui n’a pas manqué de nous charmer autant en saveur quand qualité et couleur. Le tout est un délice en bouche. On a proposé de très bons vin au verre pour accompagner les mets.La patronne parle très bien le français ainsi que le serveur. C’est un beau travail d’équipe.À recommander à ceux qui apprécient la cuisine raffinée.
