AUER Chocolatier SA in Genève

I have been having my coffee in this very pleasant place for over 15 years, it is always a pleasure. But 1 year the coffee went from 3.90 to 4.20 it is one of the most expensive places for coffee in Geneva. I'm just unbelievable so I go less. Too bad, I leave it to the tourists.

Favorite chocolaterie in town. Unfortunately the service is not super friendly, and the prices are beyond high.

One of the best chocolates ever but so pricey!

The hot chocolate was not thick enough because it was from a regular coffee machine (like ones in hotels and offices). The almond cake is absolutely average specially for the price. HOWEVER, I tried some of their chocolates are they are spectacular. Special mention to the passion fruit bonbon

This place has been around for years on one of the main streets in Geneva. For good reason. Best coffee in town and do not miss the little cakes called pinons (not sure the spelling).

I went to the store twice today and I got greeted by a very unpleasant asian woman. She was rude and racist to me, a middle eastern hijabi woman, and my husband. The first time I bought some chocolates and asked for her to wrap it she declined saying that they only do that during the summer season, I accepted that and kept quiet and ignored the fact that i’ve seen them wrapping chocolates for the customers before me. However, the second time I went to the store that day I bought more chocolates and a french lady was serving me instead as she was about to wrap my chocolate for me I heard her asian colleague tell her in french “ribbon only” thinking that I did not understand. I instantly called her out on it and her colleague covered up for her and told me that they probably just had a busy day today that’s why she didn’t want to wrap it, changing the narrative. So wrapping is only available for white european people and declined for people of color which is a shame because she is also of color but maybe her anger is with arabs or muslims. Have you ever seen a chocolate shop that doesn’t offer wrapping? Absolutely disappointing since I’ve been a customer in this store for years, what a very very bad experience. It’s 2024, do better.

The must-go Chocolate house of Geneva, even John Kerry (us ambassador) came here during his leisure time. The employees are lavish, kind and very professional (they all know perfectly what they sale). The chocolates (truffles, ganaches, jellies...) & their dark chocolate Macaron are just divine and not only for the eye. Every time I shop there for presents or myself, I am more than pleased. Keep going this way, perfection does not exist but you sound like it. ❤️👌🏾💯

Very disapointed. My daughter received a 500g ballotin. Offered by a customer. She gave it to me and I was delighted, I love pralines. Now in this big box there were only pineapple triangles and half oranges. And the pineapple triangles were not exceptionally fresh. Tip: avoid buying boxes made in advance.

Your almond chocolate are amazing. I tried them at a friend place. I then ordered online as we live in Zurich. They are really delicious. Next time I am in Geneva I will stop to visit your store.

Excellent chocolatier. The best of Geneva. Chocolates not too sweet. It's a shame that the shop is so small because you often have to wait outside for your turn in a waiting room.

I can’t describe how awful they treated me came at 9:30 as in google it says it’s open at 9 so I told the lady over there it’s open on google she pushed the door closed and said come at 10 Came back at 10:15 and was standing in the queue again it was my turn so I was standing to tell her my order she shushed me and took the order from the lady after me as if I’m not there waited patiently then my turn came she didn’t talk to me until another lady came and took my order She was a blond lady Didn’t say anything just walked out but they deserve the worst reviews ever for how rude they are

Personally I love their pralines and princess almonds! Every time I pass through Geneva I stop at their place to buy some but I find the welcome not very warm... this Saturday for a second time I was received by a haughty saleswoman and her desire to advise me on the products was disappointing and with a touch of arrogance which did not please me at all and those around me. Otherwise great for everything else...

Came here looking for raspberry filled chocolate, but because they were out of season, I left with the passion fruit dark chocolate at the recommendation of the nice chocolatiers. Found a new favorite dessert. Thank you AUER

The Princess Almonds are excellent. My favorite place to come and buy chocolate when I come to Switzerland. I highly recommend the Auer chocolate factory in Geneva.

On the train to Geneva from Paris the lady raves about the chocolate covered almonds with cocoa dusting; I took her advice and went to this chocolatier and learned why she was raving about this particular treat at this particular shop. It is definitely a stop in Geneva!

Friendly service, delicious cappuccino and cakes

We went there with my partner and we had two hot chocolates and two pine nuts, which I must admit were a real treat. The fast service matches the welcome, perfect.

A coffee, breakfast and chocolate shop on Brands Street They have chocolate stuffed with almonds. It is a very beautiful small oval shape, and it has small boxes that are suitable as gifts.

Hello, the place is small, on a beautiful street for walking and shopping. The coffee is small and has two sections, a section for selling sweets. They have a princess almond, I don’t try anything else, and the second section has a beautiful cappuccino coffee and the famous almond cake. It has outdoor seating at sunset, a nice atmosphere and coffee.

Don’t ever miss to sit outdoor and have the small cake and coffee .. buy a box of chocolate before you leave .. great for gifts .. we have been going there for over 20 years and never tiered of .. miss it this year

Top cholaterie in Geneva. In this coffee shop, you can buy delicious Pignons, a typical sweet of the city. Is very small, but cosy. Definitely recommended 👌.

One of the best chocolate stores in Geneva. You cannot go wrong with any of their chocolate. Sometimes there is a long line but it is worth the wait. I came here multiple times and service was great and chocolate quality was good. You definitely should try it when you are in the area.

Auer and its princess almonds a delight

Revisited the place today, after so many years. Same ambiance and same service. Great place for a break, and a Chocolat maison, with a pignon.

Lots of different chocolates to choose from. They said the chocolate covered almonds are the most popular so I grabbed some to bring home to my family.

It is a small chocolatier with two neighbouring shops. I usually sit at the left one which serves breaksfast, cofffee, little cheese sandwiches. It offers a lovey small European cafe experience I side. Old leather furniture, with very close sitting plan with the other customers. My favourite is the pignon au vanilla but pignon chocolate is also very good. Some may find it too sweet but I find it very buttery and a good quality treat!

I went with the crowd and search out this chocolatier in Geneva. Amazing google reviews are harder to resist than the chocolates from this store. I spent £50 on a tiny box of chocolates because I really wanted to try "the best chocolatier in the world" as claimed by a google reviewer. If you are a foodie or a person who knows their chocolates, then you will be disappointed. I had earlier in the day bought a box from an unknown brand in Le Chamonix, and the chocolates were genuinely well made and tasted amazing. AUER is a poor cross between Cadbury's in look and feel, and tastes like the even poorer Wedel. Advice to owners: - Source better quality cacao - Change the fats you are using to one with a lower melting point and a neutral taste - Get a good chocolate chef.

After a few years we returned and found the same excellent quality! Of course we are in Switzerland, in Geneva, and the prices are what they are... that is, very high, at least for us, but there is no question of the Swiss quality of life. One chocolate leads to another so be careful! Still, it's worth a stop!

Princess almonds superb even if they exaggerate in price and how much they increase their price compared to other price increases of other chocolate companies selling the same type of product. Quite stingy also when it comes to service, not even a free truffle when you buy for more than 100 chf in the store... so to improve their service a little (go and get inspiration at Tristan in Perron and you will see what good service is at the customer base)

Beautiful, delicious chocolates of all shapes and sizes -- try their famous chocolate coated almonds dusted in cocoa, but also the many-flavored squares, bark or coated orange slices. Super sweet staff as well ❤

The best Chocolate I have seen.

Very average Powdered hot chocolate (€6.10) and a bag of Twinings tea (€4) are excessively expensive for a standard presented like this. Only the almond and pine nut cakes are really worth tasting and quite good, but industrial drinks that we want to pass off as "homemade"... No.

Ideal as a gift for the family who are very happy to receive boxes of chocolates with different assortments, the essential specialty of princess almonds! One of the best stores, Bravo to the chocolatier as well as the staff for the welcome and the tasting, we will come back.

On the door it is displayed that it is open on Saturdays until 5:30 p.m., but it already closes at 5 p.m. 😕😕

A couple of people had recommended buying chocolates from Auer - particularly the dusted almond chocolates - these are truly delicious...but I did not find their truffles to be that good.

I was looking for Marron glacé and found it in this beautiful shop it was really busy everyone was taking chocolates I did not try the chocolate I tried the fresh marron glacé. Very friendly and patient staff will a big smile.

Princess Almonds are excellent! The pretty golden boxes inside enhance the beans coated with wonderful chocolate. We can sense the high quality preparation when tasting it. For example: almonds are completely skinless and extra sweet. A very nice gift 👌!

Visited this place on recommendation from a friend in Brunei. Wow… the almond cake in their cafeteria is yum yum yum. I came back 3 days in a row for afternoon coffee and of course the almond cake. Very satisfied 😉😁 Oh, their chocolates are nice too.
