Due to the unfriendly treatment of non-Swiss people and the unequal treatment towards German-speaking Swiss, I can and will avoid this bakery. Here you can experience implicit racism up close.

On Saturday morning I bought, among other things, 2 vermicelles in a cup. Were inedible. Vemicelle at the top was old and the cream at the bottom was yellowish and sour. I will never buy anything there again. The Birmensdorf and Uitikon branches, on the other hand, are very good.

This review is based on the employee's own words, so please consider it official notice. Don't go here if you're planning to stay. They have tables and outlets, but don't use them. At least not if you're not Swiss (I’ll explain shortly). This used to be our regular coffee shop - not because it's great, it's okay, but we went because it's the only coffee shop in Stallikon - and my friend, who is also a foreigner, and I always ordered food and coffee as we sat and talked and typed up notes at one of the several tables in the shop. We never stayed if it was full, which it very rarely is. Today, the shop was empty except for two other Swiss women who sat down and started charging their phones. When we paid our coffee, the older, short-haired barista informed my friend that we would be charged a five-franc charge if we plugged in our laptop. "Fine," we told her, and unplugged it. Based on the EKZ business tariff, an hour of laptop use would cost CHF 0.007, i.e. less that 1 Rp. If we had stayed there for eight hours charging our laptop, or two laptops and two phones, however many devices you can imagine, it would have cost them less than 1 CHF. So that's ridiculous, but even more ridiculous is the fact that there is NO advertised policy about a surcharge, and they didn't charge anything to the Swiss women who were sat near us with their phones charging. But we didn’t want to make a fuss, so we just unplugged the laptop. Then, the older barista refused to return the five francs. She told my friend that she had seen me in the shop on Thursday (an afternoon in which I spent fifty francs on breakfast and lunch, and almost no one else was in the cafe the entire day), so they would be keeping her money. (That's wildly illegal.) She should have charged me last Thursday, if this was a real policy. But instead she just refused to give my friend the proper amount of change, after retroactively charging her for an unadvertised policy that they applied to someone else (me). We asked her when this policy had been implemented, and she wouldn't tell us. She just invented a charge that she had never told us about before, that wasn't advertised, and that wasn't applied to any of the other patrons. She said the owner said to charge us, which is worse. She then became even more rude and told us that this “isn't a cafe for sitting and working,” it is a "traditional coffee shop." Could have fooled me, given the tables and the other people sitting and working there. So, if you want a "traditional coffee shop," go here, but don't sit and don’t stay. The rules are the rules, and they apply to everyone, right? Consider this review an advertisement for their surcharges, and official notice that this is a “traditional” place. Thank you.

We always come here after a leisurely walk in the forest. The staff is very friendly and the bakery offers both salty (rolls) and sweets - which not only looks beautiful and delicious to the eyes but also tastes heavenly. Highly recommended!!

Was only there briefly for shopping. Breakfast. This time I was disappointed with the quality of the croissants. They probably didn't endure something well. Feel like the day before. It's a shame, because otherwise the quality is always good.

The bakery is actually great. I was a little angry during New Year's week. We took a walk with the kids from Leimbach over the Balderen to Stallikon - unfortunately the shop was closed from Christmas to New Year. Without anything being mentioned on the website. We just walked back hungry because there was nothing else in the village.

A great bakery in the heart of Stallikon, super nice, helpful staff, combined with a postal service. What more do you want?! I always like to come over with my dog ​​after a walk and get some delicious bread for dinner or snack or reliably pick up my packages and mail.

I always come here because unfortunately there is nothing else nearby. The selection is good and the things are delicious. Unfortunately, depending on the employee, you are not greeted and not everyone serves you very arrogantly. Maybe management should do something about this as the store itself is very nice and cozy. It's a shame that certain employees don't understand before their wages arrive.

I was here again just today (March 18, 2019). I wasn't greeted, the staff talked among themselves, there was no eye contact. During my last visit, when I pulled out my credit card, the same employee responded with a blunt "no"... without explanation, without a sentence. This branch is the complete opposite of the main store in Uitikon, which is "pleasant across the board" :-) For example, the cream slice is uniquely good!

This is our regular Beck, they have the best crumble cakes. The staff is super friendly and you know each other if you go there often. The small reading corner is great for relaxing and the mail is also handled very reliably. Thanks for the great service. PS the other Bode Becks in Uitikon and Birmensdorf are also great.

I really hate going to this bakery. On my first visit there, I bought a raspberry tart, fruit garden and the cream tasted noticeably sour and even the base was already dry. The second visit didn't go much better. My wife bought a cheese quiche. It was completely burned on the ground. In my opinion, the baked goods such as croissants and rolls are far too hard and not "fluffy" at all. Furthermore, the staff is not particularly cooperative or attentive. They are more impressive because of their village housewifery that makes a strong distinction between known and unknown people, or between Swiss and non-Swiss people. Definitely not recommended, even 1 star is an exaggeration.

Today a slightly longer and stricter review: Baked goods and offerings are good. But it doesn't stand out from other bakeries. Personally, I miss French croissants or “Gipfeli” that are a bit “finer”. Price/performance...well. When it comes to bread, I don't notice a big difference compared to wholesalers. However, I think coffee to go is really overpriced. They're not in the city The employees are top. I think the post office in the bakery is a total “no go”. I don't think it's okay that my expensive bread slides across the same shop floor as packages that are lying around in all sorts of places. For hygiene reasons, my dog ​​is not allowed in the coffee corner. Well... that's just how it is when the post office has to save money. What really disappointed me today was that both the post office and the bakery didn't feel the need to open the shop to the villagers. This is not customer friendly at all. For me personally, I see no reason to consider this local business any more than the Coop or Migros. In this sense: Good luck

Good bread and baked goods, salads and chocolate. Nice staff - but not cheap.

"That's why we don't bring any mixes or ready-made doughs into the bakery." That's exactly what I expect from a bakery, otherwise I can buy the bread from the big ones. The bread and patisserie are delicious, so I shop there regularly.
