BAOTI in Genève

Super cute and cozy place with nice decorations. The prices were reasonable. The staff was friendly. The cocktail was delicious (spicy mango martini) and I really enjoyed the food (baos, cucumber salad and spicy dumplings). But I recommend reserving as the place gets filled pretty quickly; even though we reseeved we waited about 8mn to be seated.

Very average food. Tofu bao did not appear to have any tofu inside but only rice vermicelli. Pickled cucumbers were simply dipped in soy sauce. Overall very disappointing. Prices high even for Geneva. Small portions.

This is the second time I'm going back there, I love the atmosphere of this little restaurant, very efficient little menu, I recommend the duck to share (for 2) accompanied by small pancakes and vegetables, I already want to come back!

Street Food atmosphere in a bright and colorful setting, the food is high quality: discovery menu, Peking duck, pork and shrimp ravioli (Chao Shou) are excellent. The Baos with the homemade sweet and sour sauce are delicious (yet no one was excited about eating a bao). A family and authentic welcome. Thanks and see you soon!

!!! Big annoyance!!! Awesome experience. Dream seller Horrible experience. Aggressive staff and obvious lack of hygiene. I do not recommend it to fragile people Bao served half cooked and put back in the microwave, a shame for the price I should have taken them for dinner given the quality. I of course expect a mean-spirited response from the owners, obviously, like lessons from a French teacher. Just know that these are amateurs who want to think they are restaurateurs. Unfortunately they can open this type of establishment. :/ :/ In short, take your turn. It’s a shame that the hygiene services don’t check these types of establishments anymore :/

The food was very good, especially the Peking duck pancakes. On the other hand, I give it 3 stars because they did not want to give the 20% discount on the range because we went 3 people instead of 2. We had checked that the discount was valid even if there were 3 and up to 4 people, but they refused to do it… It's a shame, because it's these small gestures that make me not think about going back and I wouldn't recommend it.

The service and atmosphere were great, but the bao buns and dumplings were disappointing (a bit flavorless and the dough was not authentic).

I've been there two times recently. The spot is nice, the service friendly and professional. The food is more of a hit-or-miss situation. The stuffed buns are excellent, the baos are good, the dumplings less so. The vegetarian crepes were a letdown: crepes filled with dry crepe bits and some rare veggies - almost tasteless.

Delicious place for casual Chinese street food, probably one of the best in Switzerland. Really recommend the baos and the jian bing. The staff was a bit slow but friendly. Unfortunately, the matcha cake was already sold out and I am not sure if the homemade lemonade really was homemade as I saw someone pour a powder into a container…but, we will definitely be back and look forward to try the rest of the menu!

TBH, the buns are really expensive taking the qualities into the count, the other snacks are just average level, you can buy better freezed buns and snacks from Asian supermarket just several blocks away; if you buy those from asian supermarket in france and cook them by yourself, the quality beats anything you can buy here for sure. Plus, I knew they offered promotions to students who gave better rates to them, it is a very common strategy to get higher rates.

Nice little place with a relaxed vibe, and we ate a lot of the menu. Service was good, and the waiter was chatty. I loved the aubergine, liked the bao and the dumplings, but wasn't crazy about the omelette or the spring rolls. Needs more bao I think.

Rather disappointed. An exotic place, a magnificent authentic place, only certain flavors are sorely lacking. Vegetarians refrain! If you want to eat roasted or “sautéed” zucchini and carrots and pay more than €10 you might as well stay at home. The vegetables were bland and without local flavor, the vegetable skewers are sprinkled with spices but have absolutely no added value! We do better at home. The meatless bao lacks garnish and the salads are once again without local flavor. It’s very disappointing for a meal costing more than €35 for 1 person. The rice is good and the atmosphere is pleasant. The service is sometimes too long but the gentleman is really nice. I won't go back, or reincarnated as a meat eater to compare...

I arrived by chance and sat down because the dishes looked good and original compared to “classic” Chinese cuisine. And indeed because it is a cuisine from northern China which is less known (less popular) I did well because it was delicious! The service is attentive, no waiting and the dishes are copious and delicious. I adore !! Go test for yourselves

Not worth the price. Caramelized chicken is just chicken with sweet and sour sauce, which is not particularly good. The bao was not filled with stuffing.

We were served the wrong food, and the boss said we couldn't return it after we ate it, and refused to give us any discount. It was very bad, and the food was very small, not enough for adults, so don't ever come here! Nourishment, nourishment, patronage, nousiness, obsessive remnants, nousla mangions and nous accords, nourishment, nourriture, petite, adultery, venez jamais ! Served us the wrong food, the boss said we can't get a refund if we eat it, and refused to give us any discount, very poor, the food is very small, not enough for adults, never come!

The pancakes with fruit taste good and cost 12 Swiss francs without any additions. The hot and sour noodles are not particularly delicious, and the bowl is very small. It is incomparable with the bowls in Northeast China. Haha, it is a bit expensive. If you like Chinese food, you can try it.

We came due to the high reviews and recommendation on Harrys Ding. It was a big disappointment. Empty restaurant, very average dumplings with thick dough, small and average filling. Would not recommend.

Very friendly and smiling server. The dishes are of good quality and at affordable prices, the baos are perfect for a light meal! Modern decor and well-chosen background music!

Incredible Jian Bing (crepe omelette). I had them in north China and haven’t been able to find them since - this was just as good. Also the mochi balls were unbelievable; cooked fresh and incredibly supple. However the sichuan beef wasn’t great - too oily and a little bland.

Perfect value for money for a midday lunch (menu 22 francs). The dishes are perfectly seasoned.

Baoti is a great place offering a wide variety of Baos and Jaozi! The wonton soup is also delicious and the Jianbing is a must try! Absolutely recommended to finish your meal with a chocolate bao or a matcha dessert! Staff is incredibly kind and helpful.

Girls' night. We had a great time. I ate a “classic” bao and crepe: it was delicious. I took some to go 😊. I recommend reserving a table beforehand.

Very nice restaurant and very good food. What would be a real plus for winter would be to put up one of these thick curtains like in other places to prevent cold air from entering the room. A little extra for a big effect.

You have to try their sesame mochi for dessert, they are heavenly!! Other food is also good

It was a really tasty place. The food came quickly and was so good, especially the noodles. The restaurant however is located beside the street making it a bit noisy to sit outside.

Only tasted the Jiaozi wich where really good, soft and slippery not overly sticky. But too expensive The Jiaozi are seriously good, already tasted some that are too sticky and it's annoying but it's perfect. But too expensive

One of the best spots for Chinese food in Geneva. No duds on the menu, everything is tasty. I’m particularly fond of the gai fan and jian bing. Weekday lunch specials are also a fantastic deal. Overall, definitely worth a try if you like Chinese food.

There are some good places for ravioli and Chinese buns in Geneva. Baoti is one of these addresses, located near the station, spacious and modern and bright. The friendly service and the very fine products are delicious. The lunch options are not bad.

Excellent address, very warm welcome. On the other hand, the cocktails are really very, very light in terms of the quantity of alcohol. And the restaurant is too noisy when it's full and with the music it's even worse, impossible to hear each other properly.

Great service - the girl who works here is super nice and speaks perfect English. We went for the gai faim au poulet - very nice although a bit small 3 baos are super nice. Pork and beef were the best ones. We used a the fork discount and paid 28.3 - they forgot to include the discount but added after a reminder.

I have long heard that there is a Chinese restaurant in Geneva that sells pancakes and confections. When I was in Geneva on business, I came here and waited for several hours for the restaurant to open to try it. It is not easy to eat domestic snacks on the other side of the Eurasian continent. Because I came here just for the pancakes and fruits, I didn’t order any other dumplings, pasta, or desserts. There are regular pancakes and chicken-added ones. The classic pancakes are 12 pieces, and the chicken-added pancakes are 14 pieces. They contain marinated chicken, homemade crispy pancakes and other vegetables, and are served with a slightly spicy but sweet sauce. , it really has a domestic feel. It is more convenient to eat in a restaurant if you put it on a plate and can only use a knife and fork, but it is not convenient to eat with chopsticks. If you take it away, there will be bags that you can tear while eating, which might make it feel better. The ratings only represent my personal feelings, it’s not amazing, but it’s still okay as a change of taste. I heard from friends that it tastes better than last year, and it seems that the boss is trying hard to cater to the tastes of customers. After all, Chinese people and locals have different preferences. I hope it will taste better next time I come! Please support me~

Very tasty baos and jianbing (crêpe). Too bad the wonton soup was a bit too salty for me. Good and friendly service. Nice location. It would be great if they added more dishes like fried noodles or fried rice to have more choices of dishes.

Authentic flavours in a chic space. Perfect spot for a quick, light but delicious lunch. The salads compliment the Bao buns incredibly well and although not a vegetarian myself, the Vegetable Bao had me drooling!

Crepes craquent classic with chicken was not really tasty, and the skin of chicken wasn't removed, and it was quite greasy. But matcha cheesecake was amazing.

I came here specifically to eat pancakes. They cost 11 Swiss francs each without meat. They taste very authentic and the sauce is very fragrant. It would be nice if you could put more sauce on them.

We ordered vegetarian Jianbing at grand central food stand and it’s overall not bad. However, I wish the fried wonton skins were fresher and crunchier.

I came for the famous Jian bing, flavor of my hometown. Not disappointed. Hot drinks with black sesame and matcha tea are delicious. I also appreciate their refined and sophisticated style. To recommend !

Home made, tasty, and friendly, a real pleasure

Finally ordered the famous baos and ravioli from BAOTI, and I don't regret it! As good, if not better, than expected. The stuffings are very well seasoned. The accompanying salads were also succulent (favorite for the spinach-vermicelli one, yum!). We also had moshi - very soft - and the very good (small) red bean cakes to finish the meal. We were worried we hadn't ordered enough, but it was perfect. The only downside (if we have to find one): we liked the carrot-omelette bao less because we found that the taste of the bao paste covered that of the stuffing, which was a bit of a shame. But that's just our opinion. We can't wait to go there and try other dishes! 😉
