La Guinguette in Genève

I had known in its time the famous creamery of the Parc des Eaux-Vives and on the occasion of a return to Geneva this summer I stopped thinking of finding it again and I discovered "la Guinguette"... guinguette this one only has the name... and I'm weighing my words... very slow service, I'm going through some of the best... I really hope that the City of Geneva will intervene...but hey, I won't go back there again

Peaceful and charming terrace accepting pets on leash. Huge morning toast accompanied by a good coffee served with humor and a smile...What better way to start the day?

Located in the Eaux-Vives district, La Guinguette is ideally located in the heart of La Grange park and a pleasant stopover, especially in summer. Small meals on site, simple but quality, great for a quick lunch with friends or family.

Great place for lunch or a drink while enjoying a nice shady spot. The staff is very pleasant, accommodating and friendly. Service is at the bar, so it’s convenient for those in a hurry. Croques, salads, tartlets, and artisanal ice creams, everything is delicious.

When I come to Geneva for vacation I usually stop by to eat or drink something. But today (08/30) I said to myself never again: I ask an employee (light eyes, 1m65 tall max, who thinks he's a handsome guy) for a glass of rosé. Not being able to leave 2CHF for the glass (because I was on the other side of the park) I asked him kindly if he could give it to me in a cardboard glass and there he gave me at least 3 thoughts like for example: “ah but wine in a goblet is not good”, “ah yes it’s true that everyone doesn’t care about ecology”, he said that to me in a very haughty and disrespectful way ! But who does he think he is? I pay for a rosé and someone takes the liberty of lecturing me in a completely inappropriate and insolent way!

Very calm restaurant serving salads and hot sandwiches.

Lovely spot for a drink (mostly) or a bite under the shade of the beautiful trees of the Parc de la Grange. You have to order and pick up at the counter. Price is OK for Geneva, in the higher range for a summer buvette with self-service - but it has a classier feel than other spots.

Good address, the dishes are good but the price/quantity ratio is not there. A large club sandwich is not enough for a meal.

Pretty garden atmosphere like in Greenwich. The salads and croq’ are tasty. A beautiful, shaded and pleasant place. Dog friendly: the staff provided a large bowl of fresh water.

Nice and cozy place with varied dishes and pétanque. Very good!

Love heading here during the spring and summer - really lovely relaxed vibe. Great views and love the Croque Monsieur.

Nice place with delicious food. However, my opinion is to pay in cash because a) it is not possible to pay by Twint, nor b) to check the amount paid on site by SumUp (small white device for payment by credit card). Yesterday evening, I made a payment by card for two croques (CHF28) but I realized that the receipt that was presented to me and that I had already paid for was for another order (croque+small salad ) with a lower amount (CHF 18.50). So I mention it to the cash register manager who prepares the SumUp for payment of the difference. Except that today, instead of the CHF9.50 difference to pay, I found that the card was charged CHF17.50 in addition to the CHF 18.50. :(

Super nice little cafe in a cozy, shady, quiet corner of this beautiful park. Prices okay. Food limited to sandwiches but very tasty. Super nice staff behind the counter. Thank you!

Great location, run by your cousin from the country.

Yes, it is sometimes a little crowded, but the waiters and waitresses are always very pleasant and smiling, plus the setting is magnificent. My kids are having fun in the park while my wife and I are drinking Spritz and forgetting our worries, I'll be back!

A limited but delicious catering menu. The croques-Monsieur are delicious, and the salads (Ruminantes and Chèvre) are excellent with an explosion of flavors. No-fuss place with a very pleasant welcome This will be our new canteen for lunches in the Grange park.

Service much too slow and poorly organized. Really a shame for such a beautiful place!

The new Geneva hotspot. Nice atmosphere, low prices good food and local beers. Try the croque monsieur with chèvre chaud it's delicious!

Perfect for having a drink at Parc La Grange but don't expect to get drunk there. Bar service.

The place is still so pretty and nice It would be nice if at 4 p.m. we didn't have to give up half of the snacks on the menu and fall back on a mini tartlet for 6 francs.

Very friendly welcome, the ice creams were good. We enjoyed the deckchairs.
