Very good, but excessively expensive for its quality. Paying 6.50 CHF for only 7 croquettes, which get lost on the plate, is unacceptable. Additionally, charging extra for support is disappointing. The burger bun, supposedly homemade, is not authentic. However, the Toblerone dessert is excellent!

Disastrous fondue We reserved a “fondue gondola” in the evening and were looking forward to a delicious meal. The starter was perfect, as was the rösti, but unfortunately the fondue was gritty and far too runny… The waiter kept us in good spirits and the boss responded professionally and pleasantly. I would go again, but wouldn't order fondue again.

A complete shame. On September 3rd at 5pm terrible service from the employee Mr Ali. When asked what the "xirope" was, the answer was whatever it is, I don't know or strawberry or raspberry, you'll see... then when I asked for the internet I did he replied "sit down, that's it already...". Terrible, arrogant, terrible. Place to avoid due to the employee's intentions. The Colleague who was with him always showed more availability, but rarely arrived at our table. He only answered me when I asked for the bathroom password.

WONDERFUL ! We came for my husband's birthday without knowing this place and frankly we were not disappointed! Damien welcomed us and made us feel immediately at home with high quality service, as did his colleague Julien! They have a real gift in their profession! The food and cocktails were delicious! We had pike perch and chocolate mousse for dessert and my dessert was a favorite (a peppermint granita, raspberry parfait with forest fruits) They celebrated my husband's birthday and sang along. Truly the perfect kind of evening from A to Z. We came home with a smile and enjoyed ourselves We recommend +++ And a special thank you to Damien & Julien! Quality people!

We come every morning to drink our coffee after leaving the station and have always been very well received, apart from this morning, August 10, 2023, the more than cheeky waiter Manuel... We ordered our coffees with 2 sugars, in short I had to go and get our 2nd sugar inside and the real highlight is when we ask him for an ashtray he tells us that he doesn't have one yet, they haven't been washed. So I tell him what do we do with our cigarettes he says on the ground, he doesn't have time for that. He was overwhelmed by events... Finally a very rude waiter and not friendly at all or before if we see this waiter we will go elsewhere. We don't need this in the morning at 7am.

On August 1st, after a long journey, we had a very nice meal. The service was very friendly, everything was well maintained and the toilets were very clean. We ate a mixed salad and a risotto.

Quite nice really. Went to them only because they had in their menu the traditionally Swiss Rösti. Thought at first that I could pair it with Schnitzel but during summer they only serve it with Bratwurst. Well the Bratwurst was kinda meh, bland, felt commervial. The rösti on the other hand might just be the best I served in den Schweiz. It had texture, it had fpavor and it paired well with the sauce. The potatoes they used weren't mushy and had a bit of crisp to it so I was pleased of what I served. The beer, I'm not sure what I served, it was a Swiss beer nontheless but they didn't have that range of beers I expected. I am more of a weizen fan, and I didn't know what to order (out of 5 beer kinds) so I went for the waiter's suggestion and in came a blonde beer, Swiss, cold. It was ok, nothing to complain, goes well on the hot weather, but felt commercial, certainly not the unfiltered weizen "Einsteinsbier" served in Bern and at the price of 7Fr for 0.5L I can't say I'd serve again.

Stopped here for a drink and sat outside in the warm evening. Most pleasant!

Top location, moderately motivated staff...We put another table next to ours because there were 6 of us...the waiter wasn't very amused...it's a shame. The first impression counts... We were happy that a young, friendly service person served us. Prices at the upper limit... the situation is probably being exploited here?

From unfriendly service to ignorance, forgetting half an order and an endless amount of rubbish on the floor, this bistro is characterized by aggressiveness and uncleanliness. Garbage is pushed aside with the foot, not greeted or said goodbye. For such a renowned restaurant, the service is a disaster. I recommend saving your nerves and enjoying a coffee at home in a cozy atmosphere. Tables not wiped down and not wiped dry. In my opinion one star is already too many. I wouldn't be surprised if little animals came crawling out of the salad. Never again and will also protect my friends and acquaintances from this nuisance.

The friendly staff served me courteously, so I found the atmosphere pleasant and I was able to enjoy my mint tea. See you next time

As expected from a hotel bistro. Neither worse nor better than so many others! In Switzerland it's just a bit more expensive!

We had a 3 course meal, the soup was absolutely amazing, the main was tasty but a bit salty and the pudding was also very nice. What let the experience down was the service, when we asked for a glass for our soft drinks, we were told we had to use our water glass (which had water in), a more helpful friendly attitude would have been better.

Top! Ambience and atmosphere as well as the friendly service, and all of this at a fair price! Chapeau, gladly again.

I did just a quick stop here for coffee. But man was I surprised positively by the serving staff. Immediate service, super friendly, very professional and suuper attentive. Really a great experience for a quick coffee stop :)

I do not think I have ever written a negative review but the treatment my family experienced at this restaurant was beyond terrible. The experienced waiter made a series of snarky comments directed at my grandparents (respectively 80+ and 90+) years for taking too long to order and not understanding him. He switched languages deeming that my grandmother’s German (who is completely fluent) was not good enough for him. He also teared off the menu from my grandfathers hands. Additionally, the service and the food were in itself disappointing, they would forget to bring glasses, an additional spoon or to serve wine after being asked to do so. The exchange with the server made our lunch very unpleasant, and my grandparents were visibly affected by the way they had been treated. Only after having payed the addition, did we realize that they charged us for 8 coffees instead of 5. Do yourself a favor and skip this address.

Great restaurant well located next to the station. We were there in the evening and we were served by a great person Daniel from memory, a person who speaks very pleasant French when we don't speak German. A waiter who listens and is very attentive to our very kind daughter. He was offered a coloring page to keep him busy during the meal, a great idea. The Restaurant Bar & Bistro right next to the SBB train station in Basel is a good place to go for a quick lunch after or before a trip from Basel. In addition to the normal menu in the evening, there is also a small menu during the day, which offers many Swiss classics. The perfect choice after a holiday abroad. The staff was very friendly and professional, which we really liked. If you need to go to the toilet, you should ask the staff for the toilet code beforehand. The toilets are also very clean and nicely kept. Despite the good location and the good food/service, I found the prices a bit expensive, which is why I had to deduct a star.

Bar and bistro Victoria in Basel A bar and bistro right next to the tram station at the SBB train station in Basel. A good option to have a drink when you have to wait for the train. Or before going into town or the zoo. Today I was there with my girlfriend. My girlfriend had a café and I had a cola. My friend got some cold milk with the café. Delicious food after a long travel day. It is close to the station and public transport connections, so also ideal if you are passing through. The staff is friendly and also speaks little English. The menu is not extensive, but they have excellent dishes.

05/23/20 The waiter present was an absolute impudence!! After asking where the toilets were, we were asked to order first. It was also said that of course we consume here. We left the restaurant straight away🖐 Two weeks earlier the salad came without the bread, he apologized for forgetting it😮🙃 only after the request and the salt and pepper also after another request. The worst thing, pepper and salt, came in sachets like you know from Burger King!!??? Not recommendable!

Trying out this veggie burger around the Basel main trainsstation was extremely rewarding - tasty and fully living up to expectation! Great value in this context, where fastfood chains, faux bakeries and massmade sandwiches rarely offer the hungry traveler the peace of mind you need when on the road! Service was excellent too - will return anytime I am passing through!

There was an accident happened in the restaurant on Friday, 20 Sept 2019. Mass dirty water with black color from the ceiling came out suddenly. All guests got shocked. My jacket was totally wet and dirty. Unfortunately there was no apologize from the hotel, not even an offer of a free drink nor a word of sorry. I am surprised about the hotel management which is not customer-orientated hospitality style. This restaurant is definitely not my choice anymore. Dear Ms. F. Kohnle Thanks for the reply. My point ist not about water( even though it was dirty water at the beginning for a while), but the treatment to the guests. Even though we arrived a quarter to 10 p.m., we were made aware that we could still get hot food. The food was impeccable. The plates warmed up. We sat outside. Toilet with code that must be requested.

The problem with this friendly establishment is the service. Good, solid food. The service can't keep up. Why aren't tables on the terrace cleared away immediately? The wasps are happy, the customers are not. Why is it that when you point out that you would like to eat indoors under these circumstances, you are folded in every way? Why is every handout from service perceived as an imposition? You think you're in the wrong film and look for the hidden camera.

Average restaurant, but great location right next to the main train station in Basel, food is OK, but not great /nothing special, interior design and atmosphere OK, but nothing special, service a bit tardy, but friendly. Washroom requires a code. Ask you waiter.

Very unfriendly service! The reservation didn't work out! However, when we realized that we had already reserved 5 days in advance, the waiter claimed that someone else had already reserved this table before! The same was the case with other customers, they also didn't get the table they had reserved! Not only did it take a long time for our food to arrive (the people at the table next door also complained)! At first the waiter reacted very unfriendly, but later apologized. The restaurant isn't exactly cheap, so you'd expect friendlier service! We have eaten in many restaurants, but we have never encountered such unfriendly service. The food was excellent and very nicely prepared, so the overall rating was only two stars!
