Great place for foreigners. Bartender, Alex, is a worldly guy and did a great job

Neglected room, glasses everywhere, they ask for a fruit juice and they force me (without success) to have a cocktail while I insist on having a juice.... Pretty Karaoke, nothing else. I advise against. Decoration and style of the bar very good though

Review 2024 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A real dancing bar, with people, all-style main stream music and really great servers. To party without the hassle towards the ideal. Happy hour from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. the price of a small one for a large one on beer, wine and ciders. Review 2020 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Much more than a bar because the decor is sensational. You really feel like you're on a pirate ship. On the other hand, I found it a shame that we couldn't sit down. Security is friendly. In the bar you have the impression that customers and staff know each other well like family. To try with friends, it's a good delirium.

I have known Barberousse for several years and me and other friends are a little disappointed because the atmosphere has changed a lot, especially with the waiters. Previously, the waiters had a good atmosphere, made us want to eat because they made their service spectacular, and made us laugh, had fun with us, took a little more time to have fun with the customers. Today, this is no longer the case. We took a captain's tour and it's not the level it was before, there are no more shows during the tour, they don't ring the bell anymore, they don't clap with as much enthusiasm as before , they fill the glass not even halfway, a bit as if they were tired of working in the bar and they do this because they have no choice (at least that's the impression they give). A friend wanted to break the record for the person who drinks several shots the fastest, etc., he mentioned it to the waiter, the waiter served him and he went elsewhere, so he didn't even take just 5 seconds to get out. his phone to keep time (well I mean having fun for 30 seconds with the customer, getting into his game, making him want to consume). In fact, they took away the desire to consume anything. The lack of atmosphere from the servers spoils a little the charm that the bar had before. The old servers were much more fun, made customers want to drink because they managed to make simple glasses spectacular... I hope that one day, it will find that little thing that made the bar cool to a lot of people..

Hello, I would like to write a new opinion because my old one was not very credible. I had been drinking and someone else wrote it with my account so it was definitely about my personal banishment. To begin with: yes there are indeed employees who serve and others who take care of clearing the tables but when a server is behind a bar and he is not particularly busy and we do grand gestures in front of him to get his attention and which he chooses to ignore is not very professional, especially when this situation happens several times. Are you asking me to give you proof regarding my friend who was drugged: the fact that he went to the emergency room isn't enough for you? In addition there are messages and cookies if that is not enough for you. The waiters weren't very cooperative, only telling him "You're drunk, go home." Regarding this tablet with Snapchat, no you are not banned from the application the account still exists and no we do not show our private parts! I asked managers several times to show me this video and never received any response. It's not very respectful of you to make us appear to be sexual aggressors when you yourself have proof that we are not. So avoid asking me to prove something to you without doing it in return. If our way of not having fun bothers you and the customers of the bar it is completely understandable, however telling lies just to get us out is not really the best decision. A great New Year's Eve spent here. The smiling and festive staff, the good rum, we loved it!

Nothing special. The beer is expensive for what it is and the pizza came burnt! We were 6 people and no-one liked it. :( Won't come back.

Good atmosphere. But a lot of people, we are packed like sardines. Not to mention that the ground is particularly sticky. Empty glass and bottle dragged everywhere, even on the ground.

Cool bar with good environment and music. They have shots with a large number of flavours, only check on the walls for a frame with the list. And they are good and strong 💪🏽 From time to time they quickly put some alcohol on the counter and make a fire 🔥as a show Not much internet connection inside though but not a problem if you there’re to party🙂. You can always come outside to sent/receive the messages.

I love this bar, it feels like a pirate ship, great bar staff with theme evenings. Always a good atmosphere and music. Lots of choice between homemade, local and international alcohols. There are lots of good dishes to eat.

Come for a drink after eating, the bar has gradually transformed into a dance bar/club with a very good atmosphere and a decor worthy of a pirate ship. Very pleasant musical choice: from rock at the start of the evening to techno and yodel at the end of the evening. Diverse and cosmopolitan attendance. The bartenders put on a show and are efficient despite the high attendance.

Every day is different! Karaoke, Just Dance, DJs, one of the best bars in the city centre 😄

Bar Barberousse has the best karaoke stage in Lausanne, with a spirited, supportive crowd (including many friendly regulars!) on both Tuesday and Sunday nights. The sound system is expertly managed, the staff is friendly, the bar is sometimes on fire. As a lady unused to going places by myself, I appreciate how welcome and safe I always feel there.

It is a very nice bar with a good atmosphere it is a shame that part of our night was ruined. A person from the staff that was in charge of the karaoke ( they do karaoke night on Sundays) talked to my friends and I in a disrespectful way and scolded us because my friends had not seen that we had to put our real names for the karaoke. He later came back to talk to us that night after we had told him that we didn’t like what he had said. In the end we ended up arguing and he yelled at us not to come back. It really is a shame because apart from that this bar is really great.

Staggering. We wanted to sit on the terrace with my friends to have a drink and eat dishes from the restaurant next door but a young waiter refused to seat us under the pretext that the restaurant did not have an agreement with them. I don't see the connection if we were going to have a drink at their place anyway. Unpleasant welcome. We will not come back.

Great karaoke evenings with friends, good music

The bar is magnificent, the atmosphere is great and there is always different entertainment during the week, it's a must in Lausanne!

Top notch atmosphere. Traditional pirate music as well as commercial titles. I almost felt like I became Sparrow. The binouse was good, the room a little warm but the atypical decoration made the difference. I recommend it for all adventurers looking for new experiences.

Very nice and all, except on karaoke Tuesday, the guy who controls the console makes me fuchi after 20 mojitos. I behave the same because I have people skills. The beautiful girl customer next to him gives me a disdain that I had not felt in 100 years of Pedro Infante. This place is very nice, except on Tuesdays of karaoke, The gentlemen in charge of the speaker feels like presidential or something. You ask kindly and he tells you go away. His lover makes fun of you and they never play your song... Very sad

A dozen colleagues meet up here on a random Wednesday night. Plenty of drinks and Switch dance party 2020 was on the menu. Fantastic time. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Drinks are a bit pricy (15 francs for a gin and tonic). Also I hear they do some fire tricks on the bar towards the end of the night.

Varied choice of rums, for all tastes. Really friendly and professional bartenders and barmaids. Original and delicious arranged cocktails. Bar fills up very quickly and few seats, go there early :)

I strongly advise against this place. Big scam with the Mojito. I paid CHF 14.- for a mojito so there was no alcohol. A bland and uninteresting mojito. I asked the barmaid to rectify it and she refused. The barmaid told me she could add an extra dose for me! No, but is this a joke?!! Why should I pay an extra dose for an alcohol that I didn't receive in the first place?! Where is the logic !? Even my friend tasted it and she didn't smell any alcohol! No but frankly you are really liars. Normally the customer is supposed to trust the barmaid and no the customer is not supposed to supervise! ABE Do you make the cocktails according to the customer's head or else?! Frankly, it's a complete scam.

Great friendly and warm place. The pirate style decor - Irish Pub has its effect!! Lots of choice of light and strong alcohol at a reasonable price and what's more, the bar staff sets the bar on fire in both senses of the word. I get up from the table to go to the bar because I don't see a waiter/waitress (probably busy...) and at the bar, I ask for a glass of water. I am told: “there is water in the toilet”. Pardon??? In short, if this is how you treat your customers…

I got up from the terrace to get a glass of water from the bar, and I was told: “there is water in the toilet”. Very shocked at the response. What is this place?? To avoid ! Lots of other places in Lausanne where we take “care” of a minimum of customers! Anyway, I go back and sit down and ask the waitress for a glass of sparkling water. Answer: there is not. In short, after 25 minutes of waiting I received a glass of water for 6CHF!!!! Response to comment: – that’s not what she said. But everyone has their own versions. - Yes, I was courteous, I'm not going to get angry in the evening because of a response like that…. I just find it a shame ;)

An ok bar with a decent mix of folks but trending oddly young - school specials? Taps run $10 which is ok for the area but not great, and not a large selection. There is a lot of smoking outside so it’s a bit hard to find a place if you both like beer and fresh air.

A disaster... we were, come on I'm broad, 3 people waiting at the bar and after 20 minutes of waiting, we left... without drinks... shame on this bar.

Original for the incredible pirate ship decoration and for the rum menu!!! There is something for every taste. The server outside is friendly and dynamic!! The terrace is really comfortable if you want to escape the hordes of people having fun and singing inside the ship 😄😄

The best evening I've had in as long as I can remember! I rarely go to bars, it's definitely not my favorite environment, but I was ready to go back to Barberousse the next evening! My precious (and indispensable) hearing protection and I danced uninhibitedly until the end of the night on the stage, in the company of our friends and complete strangers; sung to the point of breaking the vocal cords to the excellent playlist... And this in a warm and reassuring atmosphere. No unwanted hands on butts or excessively drunk partygoers... Fans of non-alcoholic drinks have, for once, a choice of original juice, I enjoyed discovering aloe vera juice, for a real sensation of thirst quenching... If every evening is the same, I can only highly recommend... 🔥🙏

My daughter is 17 years old, she was refused access to the toilet because she was a minor. Now you have to have your ID card to go to the toilet.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

A cult place in Lausanne to drink with friends and especially dance to music typical of the place

Amazing bar, but it's very rude security which throws you out at 01:59. Proper behavior is usually a quick reminder beforehand, or at least asking politely. Not shouting FASTER while im exiting, i wasn't even slow...

I spent several great evenings at Barberousse Lausanne and I haven’t been back for a long time. I went there yesterday and I was very surprised by the welcome. First, a security person searches my bag (ok, that’s fine) but asks me to empty my water bottle, telling me that they sell drinks inside… really??? A bottle of water to empty?? Since when can you no longer drink water in a bar? (Knowing of course that I was going to consume drinks inside) Very disappointed with Barbarossa for this water bottle anecdote.

Pretty nice, I like going there on Sunday nights with friends when there isn't too much people to just chill and chat. I've heard good things about the busier times too, good music apparently :). The bartenders are also really friendly, it's nice

The state of our table after more than 30 minutes of waiting. The server even ignores us after several of our calls. The services really leave something to be desired.
