Great service and great food! Good value for money

I think my pig is whistling! Without a reservation, we politely asked for a table, and what did the service manager say? He cheekily claimed that we would get a table as soon as the ladies had finished their dessert. We waited for a whole hour until our patience ran out. When we finally want to pay and leave, this boss comes to us annoyed and demands that we continue to wait. When I insist that we've waited enough and want to finally eat, he takes out his reservation book and shows us that the restaurant is fully booked for the evening. As if I care about the book! It is an absolute impudence to tell a guest to wait when they have been waiting for what feels like an eternity to finally eat and then decide to leave. This boss has absolutely no idea about service and is the best example of arrogance.

The food was far too expensive and there were 8 people there with a birthday child and they weren't even given dessert

Authentic and likeable. The lunch menu is always “tasty”. The first restaurant where I (almost) complained about food that was too hot. The peppermint tea was as it should be. The service was friendly. Barbes is always worth a visit.

We spotted the restaurant while exploring the city, stayed nearby, and, unable to secure a table without a reservation, booked for the next day. The food was excellent, and the service was outstanding. Overall, it was a fantastic experience.

Service and atmosphere were great but I expected the food to be spicier , tastier, more explosive. Humus was a bit tasteless and the falafel a bit too dry.

Solid food, though slightly disappointed in the variety for lunch. Haven't been for dinner.

We arrive a little early and personally only at 6:00 PM can order more menu. We reserved a table for 6 o'clock... and then we left and returned at 6 o'clock. Is there already a reserved table for us with card name and time. And personal and owner are very friendly!! And the food is very tasty!! And mini puff pastry parcels of spinach are so delicious. And also very pleasant oriental service.. wow beautiful!! If you are exploring Lucerne, I advise you to go to Barbes restaurant!!

The service was very friendly. The food was great, had lamb tajine and baklava for dinner and would highly recommend it. However, you should reserve in advance, otherwise it will be difficult to find a place. It may not be suitable for a large group (there were 10 of us and that was fine), the restaurant is not very big.

A restaurant that serves delicious Moroccan dishes. I recommend it when visiting this place. The staff are polite and have the principle of telling customers whether the food is halal or haram. Harira is dangerous, do not miss it, and there are all kinds of tagines with them, and the hummus is delicious

Hi, I would like to share with all of you the wonderful experience I had in this restaurant. I was there with my family and we ordered "Rfisa" and I must say that I was literally catapulted into Morocco 🇲🇦, the flavors of that dish and the presentation were absolutely indescribable, something really tasty, to finish with a good Moroccan tea and some sweet. The prices are truly accessible to everyone and the service was 5 stars especially Hamid the owner was polite and didn't let us miss anything, we will definitely be back thanks Barbes! ❤️

A very beautiful restaurant with wonderful outdoor seating, the food is delicious and the Moroccan tea has a wonderful flavour.

Very friendly staff, great food, nice atmosphere - you have to visit the toilets, they're beautiful 😍. I will be back! The chicken lemon tajine was amazing. The small mezze plate great to share between 2 people beforehand. Generous portions.

We had a great time in this restaurant, the food was excellent and the owner very friendly. The chicken pastilla, tagines and mezze are simply delicious. A piece of advice: go to this Moroccan restaurant, you won't regret it! Delicious !!

When the Harirah soup wasn't to the level I expected, I was worried about the rest of the food. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the good assortment of mezzas and taking we ordered. The couscous was exceptional with all the dishes, allowing the gravy to soak in and contribute to a wonderful Moroccan flavors. The standout dish for us was the meatballs tajin, but all the other dishes were good as well. I would recommend avoiding the soup and increasing the mezzas. It should also be noted that the service and atmosphere in the restaurant was excellent as well.

Eating great taste takes you on a trip to Marrakech great service

The food is absolutely outstanding and not just by Swiss standards. There is perhaps one or two places in New York City on this level, but nowhere else besides Morocco. Every dish was perfectly executed in a modern yet authentic manner. It's also the opposite of a tourist trap being located a little bit outside the historic downtown and attracts much more of a cooler crowd.

Very good food with good conditions

Wonderful Moroccan spot with an awesome staff. Every mezze and all the tagines were delicious especially the cured feta and the lamb tagine. The interior is also beautifully decorated and we really enjoyed the Dune Moroccan white wine we tried.

I was disappointed that this restaurant was below standard. This restaurant does not offer halal food. It only says chicken but I don't think it's halal. We ordered two main courses, the first was a tagine with vegetables and the other was also vegetables with artichokes, with a plate of falafel and hummus. I was surprised by the size of the plate, it was very small and contained very little couscous, a few carrots and zucchini, and the vegetables were not well cooked. The falafel were like they had been cooked for a long time and then they were put in the oven so they were fresh. They had no taste or smell. In general, Moroccan food is wonderful food, and this restaurant unfortunately tarnishes the reputation of Moroccan cuisine and should have a different name. Perfect Mediterranean restaurant

A beautiful Moroccan restaurant, especially the owner of the Bou Hamid restaurant, Maksar. If you are in the city of Lucerne, you must try the restaurant

It is only possible to eat for 1.5 hours, after which you have to leave the restaurant because the table has already been reserved for the next ones. We had to wait a long time until the order was taken and afterwards there was hardly any time to eat. A pity.

Moroccan restaurant near the center of Lucerne. The food is fantastic, you can choose tapas style and thus get to try many different dishes. Perfect for the undecided. The owner was very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere, very cozy. Pretty good value for money. Recommended for couples, alone, with friends or family!

This restaurant has the best authentic Moroccan food that I ever tasted! Even better then what I had in Marrakesh. Food were delicious and if you cannot finished your food they will pack it for you to take home so there’s no food waste. Super sustainable approach. The owners are so humble and wonderful people. The staff were nice and friendly. They made me and my guests feel welcome. The service was incredibly! I can highly recommend this place. A word of advice, do book ahead to avoid disappointment 😊

I was not yet familiar with Moroccan/Lebanese cuisine. That's why we opted for the menu where you get different dishes. It was delicious, friendly service and nice atmosphere. The price/quality ratio was also good. Recommended if you are in Lucerne! :-)

A small but beautiful place to eat. The staff is exceptionally friendly and the service is excellent. We had a mixed platter with 8 choices of Maroccan food and we enjoyed it a lot. Prices are definitely ok. It was pretty full on a Friday so reservation is definitely recommended.

Great Moroccan restaurant only a few blocks from the Lucerne train station. The menu focusses on Mezze, Tajine, and couscous. There are vegetarian options available. All dishes were delicious, freshly prepared, and good portion sizes. Friendly and accommodating staff.

Within my 2 home country regarding Moroccan cuisine specialty. Barbes is the best in Lucerne.

We walked 2 km until we reached the restaurant because it was written that it was open, and when we arrived, they refused to receive us on the pretext that the restaurant does not receive reception until after six o’clock. This is poor organization by the administration, as visitors’ efforts may be wasted upon reaching the front.

Very tasty oriental food that only my grandmother in Tunisia beats. There are also nice descriptions of the food and drinks, which brings the culture closer to the visitor. I can only give great praise and say: “Keep it up!”

I've been to Barbes several times and honestly can only report positive things. The food is amazing and there is something for everyone, whether you are a vegetarian or a meat connoisseur. The mezze is great for sharing, you can put together what you like. The tagine as well as the couscous are original Moroccan and taste great. The service is also very commendable, very attentive and super friendly. I will definitely visit Barbes again and definitely recommend it to others! Keep it up Dear Barbes Team

Serving is not big enough for an infant let alone 2 adults. Was told to order the mezze for 2 adults, it all came out on 1 plate and it was about 60 francs . Flavour was below average, bread was stale and old. Avoid.

I have known this restaurant for a long time and we love coming back. The main points to remember: a very pleasant atmosphere, an attentive boss who cares about the customer and authentic cuisine. I clearly love royal couscous. In my opinion it is one of the best Moroccan restaurants in Switzerland.

The restaurant is very ordinary, directed towards Germans, and because of this restaurant and its generous person, I have no longer been careful with our Arab brothers and consider it a trap. His treatment with us was bad compared to the Swiss. Inferiority complex. Advice: If an Arab, look for Swiss restaurants with better service and treatment.
