We were exploring venues to organize our wedding in Thun, and met with the staff in Beau Rivage Thun on multiple occasions. They were very friendly and accommodating for our needs, spending time and energy making plans for our event (catering, schedules, decorations, etc). Would recommend

The T-bone steak and the carne cruda here in Thun were an excellent fusion of Afro-Asian flavors, a culinary highlight that enchanted the palate. Service was also 10/10 as ALWAYS!

Arrived mid-afternoon on a Friday. The restaurant was only serving pizza, lasagna and cold appetizers at the time. We ordered pizzas and lasagna. The diavolo pizza was yummy though the lasagna was average. For my fellow Americans, it tasted like chef-boyardee. The staff were friendly and welcoming once we made it clear that pizza and lasagna were fine with us. Beautiful views from the back room.

This is Italian food culture at its finest. If you're lucky enough to find a free table at lunchtime or in the evening, then it's like Christmas and Easter together. It's better to reserve. Either way, you will receive a very warm welcome. And if you don't have a reservation but a nice table could become available soon, you will be asked to go to the bar counter, where you will be served an aperitif at the expense of "de la Casa". And when you have eaten, then, yes, then one thing is certain for you: " I'll come back, again and again.. (....

November 2023: Still a beautiful location, attentive service, extremely well maintained and pleasant. Heavenly veal liver with fresh porcini mushrooms and fantastic red wine risotto. Italianità at the highest level. Fall 2022: Attentive service, excellent food and wonderful ambience. Everything perfect! Fabulous venison schnitzel! Summer 2022: Spontaneously found a sunny spot on the beautiful terrace before 5 p.m. and was served attentively. Very good Italian and creative cuisine. Service was variable: the first waiter (who didn't even say hello) may have been under pressure. The other waiters were charming and professional. Delicious wine, fine cuisine, beautiful terrace until sunset. Thank you to the Beaurivage team for this pleasant hospitality.

Very well maintained kitchen. Very good pizza with high quality products/ingredients. Unfortunately, on the last visit, the garlic and oregano were missing from the Pizza Diavola and also from the Pizza Vegetariano. A pity. - If the pizzaiolo memorizes the 5-6 ingredients, then it gets a full 5 stars!

Tomato soup was a dream, but I found the portion too much as a starter. The rack of lamb was cooked to varying degrees, sometimes too much and a bit tough. Good location, easily accessible from the train station, max. 10 minutes or from the bus stop, 2-3 minutes. Varied menu. Nice service, good explanations of the dishes. The “winter garden” is more pleasant because it is quieter than the main restaurant. In my opinion, value for money is good.

You will feel like you are on the coast in Italy. This restaurant is wonderful. We arrived without a reservation around 1 pm on a Saturday and we were able to get seated without any wait. The food is delicious - my wife had the gamberoni alla griglia with a side of pasta and I had the risotto, which was vegetarian. The tiramisu for dessert was the best North of the Alps. We had a bottle of the house red wine (the Salento Negroamaro), which was so good that I got an extra one to take home. And the service was really out of this world - thanks to Domenico and Franco, but everyone was wonderful. We will definitely come back for more.

As always great. If you want real Italian food and not some pasta with cream that is sold as carbonara, you have to go to Beau Rivage.

Great terrace in summer. Delicious Italian cuisine. I enjoyed excellent veal liver with real red wine risotto.

My husband and I stopped by by chance on a Sunday for lunch. We asked the manager or owner for a table that he was preparing on the terrace. In a rude and unkind way he asked us if we had booked, when I answered in the negative he quickly dismissed us saying there was no room. The good thing is that his waiter who arrived while we were leaving, in a kind way (quite the opposite of the owner) looked for a table to seat us, but was promptly taken back by the owner who told him to leave it alone. Now dear Sir, your work should be an example of kindness and courtesy, qualities that you totally lack.

The food was great, they can still work on the service.

We were turned away at the entrance in a very cold manner. According to the waiter, there was no more room available, even though the terrace was clearly empty. We were dressed a little sportily, nothing exaggerated, that is the reason for our dismissal, for sure. The outfit makes the monk here.

Rarely have I seen such arrogance in a restaurant. Wanted to go for a pizza at 2000 and saw that many tables were empty. The waiter spoke to us in Italian, treated us condescendingly and said that the restaurant was full. After us there were regular guests who he then led straight to one of the empty tables. You probably don't need it.

Nice place in Thune. Some of the servers speak poor English, and the dessert menu is not translated. Food was ok. We waited a long time for food and to pay.

Good food but the service was terrible and rude

100% Italian. Top service... very friendly and organized and every wish is fulfilled. The atmosphere is beautiful and you feel like you are on vacation in Italy. The food leaves nothing to be desired... simply world class. The Parmesan risotto is the tastiest risotto I have ever eaten. The chef, Donatello, is the friendliest and loveliest chef around. I can only wholeheartedly recommend the restaurant.

Probably the best veal livers with porcini mushrooms in a butter, sage and rosemary sauce and an excellent red wine risotto - great women's tennis!

Magnificent huge terrace overlooking the river, we stopped here to refresh ourselves. Unfortunately I don't give a good rating for the somewhat slow service, only 2 tables occupied and staff preparing the tables for the evening meal, I had to call to be able to place our order

We really enjoyed the food, a good portion and finally something to fill you up! In short, a big compliment to Koch. The service was very friendly and they tried quickly to reserve a table for us. Great team! We will come back from Lucerne!

Very great place to go out for food. I think the restaurant operation is great and the decor is great too. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Next door there is a large hall for celebrations, such as weddings. For an organization like a wedding, the service staff is very professional and you can tell their expertise. Can only recommend it.

The food was extremely tasty. The vitello tonnato is really recommended and so is the limoncello dessert. The service was very friendly, but we had to wait a long time until someone came. But I don't judge this strictly because they had a wedding that evening and the terrace was full. I also thought it was very, very nice that when we made the reservation, they remembered that it was someone's birthday and came to the table with dessert and sang. We would definitely like to come back.

We went here for ice cream on a weekday afternoon. The ice cream was very tasty - the atmosphere was nice. It was. The staff was unfriendly and condescending. You probably won't be very welcome with small children. We had to wait a quarter of an hour for the bill; there were a maximum of 6 tables in the entire restaurant occupied - the restaurant is very large. In addition, Feldschlösschen beer was served in Junfrau Bräu glasses - that's not possible.

Now finally again at the Beau Rivage in Thun Essen. Is still one of the top addresses for Italian food. Nothing has changed with Domenico's move. We will be back……

Great Italian restaurant in the heart of the town of Thun.

Beautiful view, wonderful cuisine

Very good food, very courteous staff. I ate my birthday meal here and the staff came with a piece of very good cake, a fountain candle, sang Happy Birthday and at the end even received a birthday present from the restaurant. Wow!

Portions are smaller and prices are firming oohoho. I'm thinking about who to visit again Beau Rivage

Very nice restaurant with a large terrace which is recommended in summer, don't forget to reserve in advance. The cuisine is incredibly delicious and the Italian dishes are always on point. I am sorry to rate it 3 stars. Why? Good service, a lovely restaurant but truffle flavored penne with beef - good quality meat - oddly lacked flavor. Seafood penne the same. Are Swiss Italian restaurants afraid of palate-pleasing flavors? Let's have some brio, some passion! And, horrors! No freshly shaved parmesan. Kraft parmesan cheese? Or the equivalent. Wine good. Perhaps other dishes are better? Pricey, but it's Switzerland!

We had dinner on a weekday evening. You probably always have to make a reservation at nice places because there are always plenty of people and it's full. The pizza I had was okay in terms of price and tasted great for such a restaurant. The service is fast and friendly and will even sing for you if it's your birthday. Very cool restaurant

Service an absolute disaster. I waited 45 minutes for the aperitif wine. It was not possible to pay with the waiter. If you want to have a nice evening with good service - DO NOT visit this restaurant. Price performance of the service is not worth it at all.

What can I say? Everything was perfect from the food to the staff to the place... for work I stayed in Thun for 9 days and I went to the Beau Rivage 7 times, is there anything else to add? Whatever I took from the menu I was pleasantly surprised!! if I were to return to those parts I will definitely know how to feel at home! thanks to all the staff!! Fabio

Except for the dirty railing on the terrace, everything was great. In a restaurant like this where everything is perfect (food, view, service) you should also clean the railings every now and then. But it's not the most important reason why you go to the restaurant.

good food good service. We were registered with a dog. Unfortunately, in the 30 degree heat, NO water was offered to him... chairs in the garden were very uncomfortable... a shame🤔

The pizza was amazing 😍❤️❤️ I came to this village by chance. It is beautiful and the view of the restaurant is even more beautiful. For your information, lunch starts at 12 and ends at 2 and dinner starts at 5 until the end of the night, and the time in between is only pizza and lasagna, but with non-halal meat.

The best meal in Thun! The waiter recommended the penne pasta with beef tenderloin and truffle, which is the chef’s specialty, and it was truly incredible. We also had the tagliatelle with mushrooms and sausage, and the caprese salad, which were spectacular.

Beautiful restaurant by the river but what a shame limited menu choice as the kitchen is closed at 130pm. Service is differentiated with better treatment to the locals.

The very best tartare I've ever had! With the combination with the truffle, brilliant! Huge compliment to the service staff, it rained out of nowhere, but still so friendly and professional! I'll definitely be back!
