Bela Loko Café & Genuss in Baden

Mega hearty coffee that invites you to linger. The food is great (fresh waffles, cakes, soups)

This café is very crowded during breakfast on Saturday mornings but there is almost always room even without a reservation. For me, the latte macchiato is the best in the city and the cakes are all delicious, as are the waffles. The service is ok.

A little gem, inconspicuous from the outside. Very nice staff, freshly made waffles, vegans are also happy here (but not only), and the Earl Gray muffins are great. I'll come back here and look forward to it.

I think we found the best waffles in whole Switzerland. Not too sweet, perfectly crunchy outside and soft inside. Very decent tea and cakes too.

For those looking for something unique, the cafe offers a range of extravagant products not found everywhere. Particularly noteworthy is the original and unconventional ice cream, which is a real taste experience. Overall, Bela Loko Café & Genuss is a place you should definitely visit. Everything is just right here – from the service to the product range. I will definitely come back!

Nice place, very good coffee, worth a visit

The restaurant is furnished with attention to detail, the service is friendly, you feel comfortable and the menu is not the usual thing that is offered in every café. For that and also because it is a family-friendly restaurant, we will definitely come back (we don't have children, but we like to support inclusive restaurants and those that also offer vegan alternatives). Only: I would be happy to get a little more than a single waffle on my plate for 11.50 😁 which was very tasty and fresh! Secondly: it would be clearer if the menu (V) said that it was actually vegan right from the start, and not only upon request.

my little one and i were very excited to visit and try their waffle (that they‘re known of in Baden) for the first time on a saturday morning. from outside it didn’t look busy. the tables outside weren’t occupied. while we took a seat i noticed that two employees from inside saw us but didn’t react. so i went inside and asked if it‘s okay to take a seat outside. they said yes, but still didn’t react. i didn’t receive a menu card. i thought they might come out in a minute, but they didn’t. i gave them 15min and then i went back inside for the second time and ordered at the cashier. it took them 45min to make a waffle. while after the third time asking for my order inside, i noticed the employee that was making the waffle never received my order. what was most upsetting was the employee that served us the waffle afterwards frienldy apologized for the slow service, but i couldn’t believe her and it felt more like an excuse, because i saw other customers that arrived after us receiving their food and beverages before us. first impression: very disappointed and unfortunately the service had such lack of awareness and was very poorly that day.

Friendly staff and delicious brunch!

Went to Belaloko for breakfast on Sunday. Nice cafe with super friendly service. We decided on the etagere. The taste is very good, but unfortunately a bit lacking. 1 slice of bread & 1 Gipfli per person is quite little for a cake stand. We ordered bread, but unfortunately we had to pay extra for it. We thought that was cheeky. We think it would be better if you got 1 x bread / 1 x Gipfli / 1 x roll or something like that or bread for free upon request. The price of 22.50 CHF / person for the cake stand was supposed to cover another slice of bread etc... Especially since the ingredients were more confit and nuts etc... So nothing to fill you up, unfortunately... But a nice, cozy place Coffee, which definitely makes you want to linger, just not enough to fill you up on a Sunday morning :)

Definitely visit this cafe in the old town of Baden/Alt Stadt, its great. Delicious cakes, coffee and waffles! Friendly staff and chilled out atmosphere. Really liked this place and it's my kinda decor!

Very great café! Child-friendly, even has a children's corner, which we really appreciated, as you aren't so welcome with children everywhere. Friendly staff and excellent food, especially the waffles are unique! However, I can currently "only" give 4 stars because on our last visit we waited a full hour for an order of 5 waffles and a yoghurt. We would have liked to have been informed that it could take longer or at least to have been informed while we were there Waiting time will be communicated how long it will take. After almost an hour we had to ask ourselves, then the order came within 5 minutes. Otherwise, if everything wasn't so sensational and especially in Bela Loko, we would have been there for the last time.

A real insider tip when traveling with a baby. There is an area with toys for the little ones. Add a delicious waffle and a rainy autumn afternoon becomes real fun :)

The rear room is a little echo-y meaning it's hard to hear others around your tables. Good and drink options are nice, including gluten free cake options.

The name fits perfectly - beautiful place <3 Great atmosphere, delicious cinnamon rolls, delicious breakfast and fresh waffles. The coffee is also super fine and I can warmly recommend it for a few cozy hours.

Very nice concert by "the Ocelos" in the beautiful vaulted cellar. Before the concert there was a very fine aperitif rich, a thoroughly successful evening.

On a Sunday at 11 in the morning you will have to wait an hour to be served. We ended up leaving without breakfast. When we told them the reason, they apologized and invited us to a juice and a cake. The place is very nice and the food looks very good, but I would go on a day when there was no one there.

Came across this gem of a place earlier today while in the "Bäderquartier" of Baden and enjoyed some of the best soup I have had lately! Super friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, delicious food, and WIFI: this has just become my favourite café in Baden :) I look forward to returning to sample the rest of what they offer (in particular the sweets, which looked sinfully good).

Good products, somewhat small portions. But I don't find 5 francs for a carafe of water when you would otherwise have spent 10 francs for 2 coffees acceptable.
