Café Kajüte in Baden

Note: Iced coffee is really just cold coffee essence, ice cubes and some milk, no vanilla ice cream, no cream! The food is not rated here and probably deserves more stars.

Great breakfast in wonderful surroundings by the river. Highly recommended. We will be back.

Beautifully located, directly on the Limmat

Nice place by the river. Unfortunately far too expensive, especially for a self-service restaurant. Little space and still many families with children.

I like what I ate. I drink ice coffee that was not tasty and was expensive in my point of view. 6 CHF for a coffee not that good. But it is near to water that part is beautiful.

Nice bar right at the Limmat river with a very relaxed atmosphere. Outdoor seating only. They've got a great selection of 10+ craft beers - some on tap, some in a bottle. The Tarte Flambee and ice creams are delicious. You can access Kajuete in four ways, only by foot or bicycle: through the beautiful old town of Baden, from the thermal bath quarters, with an elevator from the square in front of the train station or with the bridge across the Limmat from Ennetbaden.

Good place to have a drink (coffee, beer) and nice ambience. I will save myself the food in the future: the tarte flambée topping is so skimpy that I find it embarrassing. Dry tarte flambées with a measly topping are served. For 17.- I just don't think that's okay. At this price there are more and better things for the money at the Italian restaurant.

There is not enough choice for eating The food was also too expensive, you still had to pay for the deposit but you didn't get much in return afterwards. I personally recommend people to come here if they like tarte flambée because that's the only thing they have here. I would definitely not go here with children.

super good concept, everything is just good

The big disappointment. For the first time this year we treated ourselves to a tarte flambée and a large salad in the cabin in Baden. What we got then (see picture) defies description. CABIN 5 p.m. CRÈME FRAÎCHE, ONIONS, SALMON, ARUCOLA. Crème fraîche? Forget! A minimum of onions and rocket and a few pieces of dried salmon. A quarter of the surface is not occupied by dry dough. I have to go back with the salad because the salad dressing was forgotten. All in all, I am extremely dissatisfied with the cabin. A pity.

Excellent coffee, super-fine homemade tarte flambée, salads, fine aperitif platters, various beers, fun spritz varieties. A wonderful place by the river, you can stay here forever and enjoy the day. A little vacation on the Limmat!

Finally something that really tickles the mind, and vision of a comfortable gettogether area on the riverside of baden. For years it was missing such a wide variety of drinks, refreshments and a wonderful speditive and friendly bartenders. Snacks are fine as is the chilly athmospheric view. Unique and forward thinking Concept to bring buzz in a corner long forgotten for baden. Will return asap there. A nice permanent place with heartblood ambiente. Love it.

Cumbersome deposit system, queuing again to get your deposit, uncomfortable chairs, small tables that tip over easily because there are only three legs, staff not very friendly, rigid kitchen times, not a minute before 12:00 there is anything warm to eat, no real restaurateurs, none Service, you have to do everything yourself, prices like in a full service restaurant, multiple stupid long queues even if you want a coffee or an ice cream after your meal. You are fenced in like in a zoo. Food is just standard.

Very friendly staff. We had a storm and it suddenly started to rain heavily. Although there wasn't much space in the hut, we were allowed to retreat there and continue drinking our coffee. Many thanks!

Very nice place and nice staff. However, the food is absolutely overpriced (tarte flambée bases are probably bought in packs of 100 and are filled very sparingly. I would have liked fine bread instead of baked rolls with the hummus).

Very pretty refreshment bar along the river, shaded terrace in the morning, sunny in the afternoon. Quality regional products. Toilets available.

Cozy place on the Limmat. Co-entrepreneurs very friendly. Fine homemade tarte flambée, somewhat carelessly prepared salad. Large selection of drinks, good beer. Depot is required on all glass, so bring it back. I really liked it, would love to come back. Toilets very clean. Be sure to check the opening times on the home page, only open when the weather is nice.

Always nice as a stopover on a bike tour, cozy and simple café right on the Limmat. Like an oasis in the hectic pace of swimming and yet not far away. We always enjoy the delicious tarte flambées and paninis. Motivated team that remains friendly even when there is a lot of crowd.

A really cute, cozy outdoor café or restaurant that gives the impression of an insider tip. At half past ten in the morning a queue is already forming. So a reservation is recommended. The delicious breakfast under the trees in the shade is the perfect start to the day. Located directly on the Limmat, this is the perfect place for a little break and invites you to move your home office here. We recommend. Head out, relax. I'll definitely be back. A very clear recommendation.

Cozy atmosphere by the river. No car traffic. Only in summer. No indoor area. Accessible by wheelchair via lift.

Great café with a large selection! The only downside: folding chairs are unfortunately a bit uncomfortable (perhaps seat cushions?) and the tables directly on the Limmat offer no space for your legs under the table top. Otherwise everything was great, probably the most beautiful fresh air café in Baden.

Excellent place to spend a pleasant time next to the river, very quiet to be able to talk, a place for the little ones to play, a blackboard, a kitchenette, Legos, various games. Excellent Coffee 👌 I was visiting some friends and we went twice in 6 days hahaha, I think that says it all.

Hidden bar right on the Limmat. Reminds me of a pop-up bar or street food. Brilliant location and lots of seating in the middle of nature. Is not always open due to weather conditions. Therefore, inform yourself in advance and then definitely go there.

Very nice casual spot next to the river, with coffee, drinks and food. The seating is outdoors and there are cute fairy lights. I had an Apfelschorle and a tomato / mozzarella / pesto sandwich made with focaccia as the bread, which tasted nice. Very friendly service. Would definitely recommend!

The cabin is the perfect meeting place after a hot summer day: the Limmat is the perfect place to cool off with one of the many types of beer on offer. And the delicious tarte flambée helps against hunger. In the evening there is even romance with the fairy lights on the river bank...

Very nice and cozy place to stay. Lots of different beers, in my opinion too IPA heavy, there could be more lager or normal beers but otherwise everything was great.

Kajüte is an awesome place with good vibes just parallel to old town on the lower river level. Friendly owners, good service, normal prices for Switzerland and great view onto the river. We live in Baden and like this place alot, since it allows you to walk town yet end up in a little bit of nature.

Directly on the Limath. There is something for a small appetite, coffee, tea and open IPA beer. Nice service. To recommend.

The Cafe Kajüte is located in the idyllic place at the "Tränebrünneli" between the old town and the new "Botta thermal bath", here you can get by far the best cappucino! The culinary delicacies are not to be despised either, the whole thing is rounded off by a young, well-organized team!
