Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We came with our toddlers and the service, plates preparation and hospitality have been outstanding. Bravo the to the team Blu! Keep up!!!

Cozy, clean and modern furnished interior with beautiful music, large exterior with lake view. We have been there several times and... The staff has always been kind and attentive, the service was fast even though the room was sometimes full, proving to be well organised! Fresh sushi, of excellent quality and variety. Very thin and crunchy pizzas, light and digestible with excellent quality ingredients, delicious Cavatelli with luganighetta, Craft red and light beer from Ascona. The truly excellent desserts: chocolate cake with a soft center and apricot in various consistencies; glacé coffee (an original affogato), creme brulé one of the best I've ever tasted and chocolate mousse. An entirely vegetarian menu is available

Very nice location on the lake, with an excellent choice and excellent dishes. Professional staff. Ideal after an afternoon at the spa next door! The cost is a sore point. 6 CHF for half a liter of water and 24 CHF for a ham pizza are really excessive, even for Switzerland

The environment and service are good, as is the food. My wife hated some of the lamb but it turned out to be cold. She pointed out to the waiter that the dish had been changed and it was excellent.

As a starter, I chose a decent-sized avocado tartare for the modest sum of 24.90.- (traditional menu), which I think is still a little expensive compared to the cuisine on offer. Regarding the dish, I ordered a pizza, the establishment's signature dish, and I was particularly amazed by the price. I took a pizza for 29.- (not the cheapest ok but the prices are around) to end up with a relatively ordinary pizza, nothing extraordinary, even a little bland, very oily with a more than passable taste. In short, I could eat the same or even better pizza and pay less in another establishment, the price here surely being inflated by the certainly very pretty setting. The latter was very clean but nothing to complain about, on the edge of the lake and the interior is very warm and welcoming. In short, we would expect better cuisine in keeping with the very lush environment and also prices that are much more affordable and justified than those charged.

While passing through the area, a local person recommended this restaurant to us. This is a beautiful lakeside building, part of the thermal baths establishment next door. The interior was lovely with modern, chic and subdued decoration. Good point with the high ceilings. The servers were also warm and helpful. There are two different menus: traditional dishes and sushi. I opted for sushi and that was indeed my mistake. As an appetizer, I had an avocado tartare. But considering the price, 25.50, I must admit that I was not expecting such a small dish with so little taste. I didn't have any sushi because the price was also exorbitant: 30 francs for 8 sushi. My table neighbors had these sushi which looked rather ordinary. Then, I took 4 mushroom ravioli, 15 francs, which I didn't bother to take a photo of. In summary: 40 francs spent to go out on an empty stomach. To make sure you have enough to eat, plan on a budget of 80-100 francs per person. I recommend ordering the wine by the glass because bottles of white cost ~60 francs at the lowest. I recommend this establishment for big budgets but not big gourmands.

Very nice restaurant, culinary - a bit very - colorful: burgers, sushi, seafood, vegan, pizzas etc. We had a three-course meal, which was delicious. The choice here was also varied, between meat, fish and vegetarian. Original, relatively small portions and prices in the middle segment. Staff was nice. The music is rather too intrusive for our taste. Very fine Soave served by the glass, at 9 Fr. rather on the borderline. Ate vegan hamburger on another visit, there are two to choose from.

Excellent service and excellent dishes, the location is wonderful, refined interiors and a very relaxing terrace, impossible not to be captivated by the view. The restaurant is perfect for business lunches and romantic dinners. The restaurant has a panoramic terrace that directly overlooks Lake Maggiore, equipped with a bar and a wonderful lounge. Particular attention to the pizzeria of the BLU restaurant, after having tried many pizzerias in Locarno, perhaps I found the dough light enough to not feel heavy during the night. On many occasions I have dined in this restaurant in Locarno and I have always returned home satisfied. The terrace facing the lake is just a small peculiarity of the place, in fact the internal room is very welcoming and spacious, so much so that they have divided the area into two areas. So far I have only described the ground floor, on the first floor we have another room and a little gem "sushi restaurant on sight". I have often dined upstairs and I must say that the view of the room below is a brilliant idea, ideal for events with music or live shows. The restaurant offers several different types of cuisine, Italian cuisine, Mediterranean cuisine, vegetarian cuisine, vegan cuisine, pizza and sushi. Thanks to the proposed events, in addition to the types of cuisine listed above, you can also taste other types of cuisine. Il Blu is one of the best restaurants in Locarno and thanks to its position it is also very quiet, however during the summer the tranquility disappears.

We spent 2 wonderful evenings in this restaurant. Warm welcome. Efficient and professional service. Top notch cuisine. Delicious wine and excellent atmosphere. Many thanks for all these moments of sharing and human exchange. All the staff at this restaurant are perfect!

Beautiful venue on the lake. If the day is not cold it is possible to have lunch or dinner on the terrace overlooking Lake Maggiore. The menu is good, with a wide choice of dishes, including pizza which is excellent.

I ate a Margherita pizza. The pizza was not good at all. It looked like a pizza you buy from a place that sells kebabs. The poor mozzarella and the acidic sauce. I will never go there again.

Pizza was really low standard. Less good than 90% of pizzerias but more expensive. Maybe I should have eaten more but I wasn't that hungry. However, the place is really beautiful both inside and out. For the place that has coffee I would have expected biscuits or better presented, not a delivered coffee like in any bar. Raw materials of what my friend ordered also do not reflect the price

Fine good food and nice ambience...

We came at the BLU fewer times, nice, cosy, and modern environment. In the Sommer the outside terrace is really nice. The restaurant is quite big but the team is present and the service is ensured. Despite the restaurants has Customers all year long the sushi is not available every day, the rest of the menu is a traditional Italian, some dishes are well prepared and some less despite those recipes are not complex. Our pasta was soaked in a medium/low quality oil as an example. The sushi quality is better, especially the appetizers.

My experience is based on the Locarno Film Festival pro party which was held here. Sadly it was very poorly managed, wait time at the bar upwards of 40 minutes, limited menu, everyone crammed into one space. I’m sure the venue is normally fine, but on our visit, frankly it sucked.

5 stars all deserved. The service is excellent, just like the food offered and the kindness of the waiters. There is a classic restaurant, a sushi restaurant, a bar area, a terrace and even a children's area. Highly recommended!

Asking more than 20 francs for a mini starter is too much! The service seems a bit rushed and empty plates and glasses sometimes remain on the table for ages. The fries taste worse than those from McDonald's. The design of the interior is very successful and the terrace looks very cozy.

Chic restaurant right next to the Badi in Locarno. But not much to read, eat, feel by Bella Ticinesi... but good vegetarian or vegan food. Prices high but worth it (Bw. great icecream & nice creams)

Especially when you consider that they are offered at prices that you would normally only expect on a luxury yacht in Monaco. The BLU employees, however, are like rays of sunshine shining through the clouds of high-priced food. Her smile and warm personality are so refreshing that you almost forget that you paid as much for a cup of coffee as you did for an overnight stay in a 5-star hotel. The bottom line is that BLU Restaurant & Lounge is a fascinating experience. It's the place where luxury meets the lago, and the result is... well, it's definitely unforgettable. That's why the BLU gets a solid four stars from me. So, grab your platinum credit card and experience a culinary adventure that will take your breath away - literally. Bon appetit!

I eat at Blu every day and everything is always very refined and special, combined with the fabulous location, it's impossible not to recommend it.

Unfortunately, I recently had a very disappointing experience at Restaurant Blu in Locarno. Although the ambience and location of the restaurant is really nice, my visit was marred by the poor service from Salvatore. To begin with, I was impressed by the warm welcome and attentiveness of the staff. However, the mood quickly changed when Salvatore took my order. He was awkward and unfriendly, and seemed to have little interest in making my stay pleasant. The wait for my food was unreasonably long, and when it was finally served, unfortunately it was no longer warm. Although I tried to bring this to Salvatore's attention, he seemed uninterested and unwilling to care. I felt unappreciated and neglected as a guest. In addition, communication with Salvatore was very difficult. He was not attentive to my concerns and could hardly answer my questions. It was frustrating that he didn't take the time to attend to my needs. Although the food itself was okay in terms of taste, I couldn't really concentrate and enjoy it due to Salvatore's poor service. Overall, my experience at Blu Restaurant was disappointing due to poor service from Salvatore. I hope management takes this matter seriously and ensures such issues do not occur again.

Magnificent, terrace overlooks the lake

The Blu Restaurant & Lounge in Locarno has become one of my favorite places to enjoy a dinner after a relaxing day at the thermal salt pans or the swimming pools of the same structure. It is an elegant venue located on the shore of Lake Maggiore, offering an enchanting view of the majestic Marmontana and Camoghè mountains. In the evening, the lights reflecting on the water create a magical atmosphere. I have always appreciated the quality and presentation of the dishes served at the Blu Restaurant & Lounge. Every time I had the opportunity to taste their dishes, I was impressed by their delicious preparation. The restaurant's chefs demonstrate great culinary mastery in creating tasty and fascinating dishes. Furthermore, I must underline that the quality-price ratio has always been adequate for the type of service offered. I always felt like I was getting a high quality dining experience without having to spend a fortune. It's always a pleasure to know you can enjoy a delicious meal in such elegant surroundings without feeling overwhelmed by the final bill. The service at Blu Restaurant & Lounge is generally attentive and helpful, however, I have noticed that sometimes they are a little too present, especially during dinner when the place is not crowded. More than one waiter came over several times to make sure everything was okay. Personally, I would prefer a more discreet approach, with just one waiter stopping by every now and then to make sure everything is running smoothly. The only negative note I would like to highlight concerns the beef tartare served in the Lounge. I found it to be lacking a bit of flavour, making it a bit dull. Additionally, the butter provided with the dish was too hard to spread easily, making the tasting a little awkward. I hope they can improve this aspect over time, in order to offer an even more satisfying experience to their customers. Despite this small inconvenience, Blu Restaurant & Lounge still remains an excellent culinary destination in Locarno. I highly recommend this place for those who want to enjoy excellent dishes in an elegant atmosphere, accompanied by a breathtaking view of Lake Maggiore.

Stylish restaurant with cool decor right on the lake next to the large swimming pool. When the weather is nice, there is a beautiful large terrace. We had an excellent meal here. Very friendly attentive staff.

Has some nice vegan options - book early for a table

We often return to this restaurant and it is always a guarantee. Super dishes, wide menu with also a great choice of vegetarian/vegan dishes as well as meat and fish. Perhaps this time I saw the staff being a little less attentive, probably due to the full room. I would appreciate the waiter topping up the glasses if a bottle was taken. We will be back.

Really nice ambience but food was okay.

The place itself also deserves 4 stars. What leads to an evaluation is this: offering, outside, the complete menu, which is otherwise good, at 22.5 chf and then charging 9chf for a liter of still water and 4chf for coffee is ultimately incorrect as well as misleading. Proposing the menu at 25chf and the water at 4chf would not have changed the final bill, as well as guaranteeing seriousness in the management.

Last night we had a table upstairs for a hen party. Fine location, excellent service, aperitif dinner, delicious cured meats, cheeses and focaccias. Followed by pizzas with a bottle of rosé and still and sparkling water, perfect value for money. Everything was very good, they allowed us to come in the afternoon to make the decorations. Classy lounge music. Here, the only flaw: for the cake it was not possible to request a song to make the moment a little more "sparkling". Anyway, recommended place!

The atmosphere is very nice. The food was good and the waiter who served us, Andrea, was very friendly and professional. The dishes were served quite quickly, even though the restaurant was full. The quality-price ratio is what prevents me from giving the restaurant a 5 star rating. The prices seemed too high for what they served us. I recommend it for the atmosphere it offers for an aperitif.

Relaxing and super chic atmosphere at Blu di Locarno. Definitely the best place in the area. I spent a pleasant evening with friends, delighted by a delicious hamburger (top quality and cooking of the meat)! The service was also excellent, even though the place was full the dishes arrived without delay and the waiter who served us (Luca) was always very kind and super helpful. Prices a little above average, probably justified by the strong tourist component in Locarno. In general I recommend it.

Service: upon arrival we were well looked after, to choose a drink (they had no customers) the waiter approached the table twice indicating in an ironic tone that the restaurant was closed at 00:00, it being 9.30pm. Rushing the customer unnecessarily. When we called the same waiter to take our order, I asked him about two drinks whether they were sweet or not, to which he replied that he doesn't drink alcohol and doesn't know. the name of these maids: Federico
