One of the employees was great, very friendly and accommodating. All other employees without charisma and no smile. At the reception we waited to be escorted to our reserved table. We waited for probably 5 minutes, we were seen but not noticed. Our coats were kindly taken away when we arrived. When we left, however, it was more important to clear the table than to give us our coats from the cloakroom. A pity. When we left the table, the empty aperitif glasses were still on the table. Conclusion: Ambience good eat good Service has potential, with the exception of the one employee, she was great

An excellent espresso, but paying 5.20 CHF for it was excessive.

Price and performance are right. We liked it very much. We've been there several times and whenever we're in Basel, we're there too. Real recommendations

Located in the Hotel Marthof, a wonderful place to have breakfast, lunch and dinner. Being guests at the hotel on multiple occasions, we have had them all. The food is delicious and lunch and dinner, is added more sophisticated choices which are all exceptional. The tartar, salmon, pike, filet and of course rostii are noted. But the staff just makes for a totally great experience and are to be commended.A wonderful, vibrant bar scene with a great vibe. Lovely brunch options and friendly staff

Rather expensive in price. The selection isn't huge. But the quality is good, as is the ambience and the selection of cocktails is just as great. Definitely worth a visit. Gladly again.

Long wait for a place but otherwise good

Good restaurant with top service. Drinks were delicious, the ice cream was incredibly good. The atmosphere was very modern and stylish, but the noise level was very loud. The food was good.

Ideal for a quick coffee. Bohemia is very idyllic and has definitely the most comfortable benches I have ever sat on. We ordered a cappuccino & a hot chocolate 🍫. When operating it, you quickly noticed how focused they all are. So please don't get upset if you don't see a smile, they are only human and not robots. Only the guests could have a little more decency. If I were the waitress, I wouldn't have smiled at some of the guests. At the entrance, 2 young ladies couldn't even get in without knocking over the decorations & when we wanted to leave she stood in our way & could only laugh stupidly. Next time pls Get out the way..!!!

The Bohemia in Basel impresses with its appealing ambience that creates a pleasant atmosphere. We were led to a beautiful place, which had a positive effect on the overall impression. However, some aspects of the service experience were less than satisfactory. After a waiter accompanied us to our table, I had to get the menu myself after a long wait. This seemed a bit uncoordinated and could have been avoided with a more proactive service. After getting the card, I returned to the table. Despite this short contact, the service was still not smooth. The waiters appeared to be deep in conversation among themselves and ignoring customers. The wait time to take the order was an additional ten minutes, resulting in a subpar service experience overall. It would be desirable for staff to focus more attention on guests' needs and communicate more efficiently with each other to ensure a more seamless experience. Improvements in this area could significantly improve the overall appearance of the Bohemia.

Very nice steak. The medium rare filet mignon was just right, made exactly to the point. The scallops were a bit overdone and dry as a consequence. But the dessert mille feuille was however also very well done.

Quite elegant and in a great location. Brunch as well as lunch is very good but be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes for food and waiters. I love the place but every time I get agitated by the slow service

We were there in the afternoon to have a drink. When we still didn't get anything after half an hour and left, we were surprisingly met with a lack of understanding from the staff... What a shame.

There was a lot of noise and it was difficult to hear each other at the table, poorly marked restaurant, no sign with the name on it, the kitchen closed at 9:30 p.m. and the restaurant at 1:00 a.m., the meal was good. Quite expensive for what it is.

Very good food! The staff is very friendly... i truly like the fact that you can see the kitchen and how they prepare your meal! You can also find a big variety of drinks!

We chose Bohemia for a small XMas celebration with the team. The food was very tasty and the atmosphere was nice; especially towards the end I would have wished the staff to be a little more attentive.

Many years ago, Erasmus of Rotterdam was in this city and fought for his ideals... I'm sure he would have liked to relax and have a good drink in this place. There are not many places where you can do it in an elegant place with a very good atmosphere... and here they are all combined!!

Beautiful atmosphere, furnishings and location. The service is mostly good. The food and drinks are also good but the price/performance ratio is not quite right. The food is too expensive for the portions, taste & quality.

A very, very nice place in a stylish, rather upscale atmosphere. In my opinion a great location whether for a delicious drink (and they are really delicious) or for food. The roof terrace is particularly recommended in summer (note opening hours, entry fee). I really enjoy coming here.

Wonderful and fancy place. A large selection of the most diverse types of brunch, from continental to oriental. The only small complaint is that the service is quite slow and there is a long wait.

The tartare was excellent; the atmosphere is simply beautiful... but the best thing is the courteous and extremely friendly service!

There was no service outside on Saturday at 9 p.m.... no one was there and when he came he (a gentleman) served a table and disappeared... we're talking about over 15 minutes and bye

Nice and important restaurant for Basel. Very friendly service and good food. There's just one thing I don't understand. If you want to drink a coffee and eat a piece of cake at 4 p.m., this is not possible. Because the kitchen is closed until 4:30 p.m. and the service staff is not allowed to put a piece of cake from the cake display case on a plate and bring it to the customer.🤔 I find this very special, I can't understand it. I hope this gets changed because it really makes absolutely no sense.

We wanted to drink a beer in comfort. Unfortunately we got a beer that we didn't like. We asked the waiter, unfortunately there wasn't a big selection. And he didn't like this beer either. It's a shame, a reason not to come again.

We had a very quiet evening here, a beautiful setting with the marketplace in front, the well chosen interior and decoration, create a excellent vibe. The service was ver good, besides the people had lots to do outside and in. The food was above expectations, congratulations to the chef. The barista created the most simple, though the most difficult thing he could do with perfection, a world class espresso ! What a treat !! All in all, a perfect evening for us, thank you 🙏🏻

Today I was in this wonderful location for the first time, which really offers an excellent atmosphere. Best operation and service as well as a cappucino/café cream which was so good that I can say I have rarely enjoyed such good coffee. It's definitely not the last time I've been here, thank you very much. Update, June 12, 2023 Now I've gotten around to spending a few nice hours in Bohemia again. The salmon with lemon risotto and broccoli was simply delicious and the atmosphere was cozy. Many thanks also to the very friendly staff, see you next time.

We had dinner with 6 people on Saturday evening with advance reservation, which is recommended. Great central location. Great conversion of a former sales room. A very pleasant atmosphere and an impressive bar 👍👍.The quality of the food was really good and innovative, for example the starter of asparagus cordon bleu...really awesome💪👍, the French fries in the bag were simply a dream. Big compliment to the kitchen 👍👍💪, it was a shame: the meat was lukewarm, it shouldn't happen...and now unfortunately it's backfiring thanks to the service staff and possibly a lack of skilled workers...and it should be clearly noted here: We are regulars Gastronomy Visitors from various gastronomy classes and the majority have had very positive experiences with establishments with the same staffing issues. The service is very cold. And a look at the reviews confirms that this is unfortunately the program here ... although the management is apparently regularly informed of this based on the reaction to reviews ??🤔🔥 The complaint was not addressed, there was no question as to whether it was good, even though the waiter walked past four times. Then we would have had a chance to optimize our little complaint in a timely manner. Non-professional, heartless performances. Little presence, because I tried to contact the service staff for about 2 minutes. Lack of knowledge of German. Beer was poured into the same glass. Bill after our complaint, completely comment and listless Emotionally supported, placed on the table with momentum, no question whether it was split or everything came together Had to figure everything out ourselves. If this house didn't belong to a well-known major distributor, there would probably be a change of landlord soon. It's a shame that doesn't work for these very high prices. Just lost 6 customers. We consciously enjoyed the dessert in the Mövenpick nearby... top service even with less staff, super efficient cuisine and a mega fine dessert... well please go 💪💪👍👍 Update: Just got a call from the restaurant manager, he apologized in all form and were really interested in what was going on, that's how good complaints work 👍👍👍👍👍👍

Here you can have a nice small meal. You can also enjoy an English breakfast or something similar here. In the evenings there are also good drinks and snacks here. Actually, you can have something for every situation. The service was ok. I don't think everyone can do that at any time The service was friendly but not outstanding. You can also sit outside and watch the people bustling back and forth. Oh, and there's a small glass of water with the coffee. I always think that's something good School stop. Even a cloth napkin is offered. And that only for breakfast. Hats off. From certain angles you can also look into the kitchen. If anyone feels like treating themselves to a little something, then sit there and chill out. Have fun to all of you who have just read this.

We were happy to eat at Bohemia. Unfortunately the service was very bad from the start, starting with the wrong drinks. We had around 4 different people serving us that evening and it took a lot of time until something finally came. The food, i.e. Chateaubriand for 60.- per person, was laughable... 4 pieces of meat that were almost transparent per person. There was also a minimal amount of sauce and a few fries. Very unfortunate. When we wanted to pay and someone finally came after asking three times, we wanted to give a tip to be polite, but it was then forgotten again. Well, it's your own fault. All in all, far too expensive for far too little.

You would have to supplement this with special spices! Plus the music is way too loud! It's hard to have a conversation with four people! But let's try again!

Best burger in town. Rib eye steak grilled to perfection is also great. The excellent Swiss Salmon👍 is also highly recommended

This restaurant has no business being open during the Fasnacht as it clearly does not respect the spirit of the celebration. At a prime location at the Marktplatz it was a shock to be greeted with such rudeness.

At the Basel carnival, charging 1.- for the toilet, after we had already used the toilet and explained to me that you were a 4 star hotel and that not “everyone” could come in. I find it very worrying. If we had known this beforehand, I would have gone looking for another toilet with my 5-year-old daughter. We definitely won't come here again!

Great food, great service, great location! The burger was particularly good. The waiter had a good sense of humor. Note that the truffle fries are in fact fries with truffle mayo. It was good but you have to like mayo + it came on top of the fries - it would be nicer if it was separate.

Went to dinner at Bohemia on Saturday evening (must make a reservation). We had scallops and moules with fries, both were excellent. The best thing about the evening was the great service we had, the young woman did an excellent job. We then switched to did afterwards. The bartender was great there too. Would love to come back.

Unfortunately, only the brunch menu is the same as the partner restaurant in Zurich, but not the result on the plate. The combos consist of the smallest portions for an overpriced price and we had to insist on getting an omelette as offered on the menu and not just an egg bite. Orange juice was also forgotten. It's a shame for the brunch when the evening meal was otherwise good.

The cocktail did not match the description in the menu. I switched to a different cocktail a - it was definitely not worth it. Not balanced and was just a taste of cheap alcohol. For cocktails- maybe go somewhere else.

It worked for us. Moules frites and the salmon with risotto were good. Service was attentive and the tarte tatin for dessert was excellent. Price-performance ratio is right, especially considering the location.
