Boulangerie-Confiserie Suard in Fribourg

Witness the decline of a cozy place in the Alt district because it remains cautious of time. The bakery products are good but it is not artisanal (ay ay the croissants) the prices of the products are too high especially taking into account the new self-service concept... The coffee at 3'90 that you make yourself -even on an unattractive machine does not work...the customers have deserted the place and the closing at 2 p.m. does not even leave hope that the students will give it a living spirit. Damage.

Sad atmosphere of a station platform

Nice older style furnishings. Self-service. First pay at the bakery counter and then pick up the coffee yourself. Maybe it's not always like that.

This morning at 6:30, I bought a small prune tart to give to my mother who I was going to visit. And big disappointment when opening the box. Very softened cake batter base, a sign that it was a cake from the day before. My mother's reaction: "that's dishonest". For my part, I find it detestable as a practice. I really didn't expect that from Suard

Bought a crown of kings with almonds, more than CHF 30.- and the very soft puff pastry and we had to look for the almond paste....really too expensive for the quality of a pastry chef, we could have understood from a supermarket .

please review hygiene. For a bakery it is unacceptable to see bluebottles on cakes and rolls that are not protected. Me who adores Suard, this time I was very disappointed. It made me hungry and as a result, I didn't buy anything.

The staff is very cheerful, the place is easy to access and very good quality in the bakery, pastry and chocolate. 😊
