Very good food. Also very good and lovely service.

The food is very, very good. Not just the flagship dish, the entrecote. Everything is very good - including the desserts. Best quality and very professionally prepared. The service is excellent and is characterized by friendliness, speed and generosity. Price is fair for what you get. We go there again and again. Reliably only the best.

Slightly disappointing experience. 1. The meat was good, but for the price of the dish, the fries could be homemade. 2. For dessert, a very expensive gourmet coffee to ultimately have nothing homemade (supermarket macaroons, a mini supermarket muffin, industrial ice cream and a little doubt about the crème brûlée all the same) the coffee is very good . 3. Friendly service staff

I was there one afternoon for a professional meal. I had heard a lot of good things about it. Small, rather noisy room, in my opinion, not great for professional meals. For the meal, we took the Business Menu: Homemade foie gras terrine as a starter / homemade salad and finally the famous entrecôte with café de Paris sauce accompanied by fries / a scoop of ice cream for dessert and a coffee. Very hearty and very good.

We went with the gourmet passport, I had read the comments, "it's a favorite", I hoped to not be disappointed. We were well served, we took instead of foie gras, tartar, the meat very good, the sauce too, the two homemade desserts also very good, then a gesture on the bill. Regarding our evening, we will return.

We reserved a table for 4 people on 08.01 by telephone for 09.01. We have explicitly indicated that we will have the gourmet passport and this has been validated. The day of the meeting we came and the registration was well noted on their agenda but surprised at the end of the meal a categorical refusal to accept the passport why? We didn't leave it on the table during the meal. Not bad coming from a restaurant which is managed by the director of Gastrofribourg. Acceptable food but nothing more for the very high price. In any case you will see us again.

The service was okay. The dish without more... we chose the entrecôte in the café de Paris sauces. Lack of delicacy, color, vegetables 😅. Totally avoided gourmet coffee, 16.50./ for 1 grainy crème brûlée, 2 frozen industrial macaroons and the same for a frozen mini muffins. The price is absolutely not in accordance with the products presented. Working in the field myself, I was disappointed with this experience.

Good service and good food but nothing outstanding. The highlight were the saffron knöpfli - very tasty.

The meal was good and the service was quick and pleasant. The salad was more elaborate at the time and it’s a shame that there were no vegetables with the main course. Very good wine and gourmet coffee leaves much to be desired.

The meat was good, however the waiter was stressful, watching us the whole time. I ordered 170g, received 210g but apparently it was me who was wrong.... and of course paid 210g. Really unhelpful, won't go back.

Okay, no more. The cute and nice setting. A modern and elegant brasserie style The service is OK but the food is not up to the price. The tuna sashimi was not cut just right, it was rubbery. For a dish at 44.- with quinoa and a salad, I've had better. At this price, I don't recommend it.

Good restaurant, price a little high

Went there for friends' gathering. Had a wonderful evening. The ice-creams were very tasty but the beef quality did not meet expectations. It was a bit tough.

We have eaten well. However, the service leaves something to be desired. We arrived at 8 p.m. the reservation was well noted but our table was not prepared we had to wait 15 minutes. It could happen. But they spoke badly to us. Limit throwing things on the table. The waiter was completely overwhelmed and the waitresses didn't get a single smile all evening. In short, I will definitely not go back

The menu is very good, the service fast and friendly. A very good time had.

We ate the Menu Entrecôte Cafe de Paris Sauce with starter, salad and dessert, which is only served at lunch. It was very fine. Tender meat and homemade sauce with fresh herbs. Service very friendly. Large selection of wines. Fast service, no long waiting times. Dogs are not allowed. Interior is a little old. Garden when the weather is nice.

A little rant against the waiter's bad faith, indeed apparently in this restaurant the waiter decides whether or not to take the gourmet passport. It was announced when booking and present on the table during the meal, when paying, he told us that he did not accept it, because he had not seen it when we arrived. Too bad, because we ate well and had a nice evening.

Had a Royal Cheeseburger yesterday that had cartilage material in the ground meat. For me as a trained chef, this means that inferior beef is used for the burgers. The service employee said that she would forward it to the kitchen. There was no response. For me that means that I was there twice yesterday: the first & last time.

Good evening, dinner at bvd 39. I am speechless (additional charge for fries?) no red wines that we choose from the menu. We find ourselves “cunié” in a corner (2 small tables for 6 people and glued to the next table. Profitability and no scruples for the customers. Too bad. The food was good, however. I will wait until summer to set foot on the terrace again because it’s too noisy inside. ABE

Excellent meat! Quality product. The only downside is the waitress is stressful and invites you to leave as quickly as possible (first service 6 p.m. the table must be left at 8:30 p.m. finally urgent service we left at 7:30 p.m.)

We went with the gourmet passport to try the menu at ~68.-. Menu including an appetizer, a starter (of your choice), the steak café de Paris and a dessert (of your choice). The service was OK but nothing more. Price a little high but the food was pretty good. Decent brewery in the end.

The price of the entrecôte was exorbitant given the quality of the meat which was rubber. The quantity of fries was minimal. My partner had a pasta dish where the quantity was also to be desired with almost more salad than pasta. An Italian restaurant charges 30% less and serves much more in quantity. The quality of the restaurant has declined for a while. Being used to it, you won't see me again.

The meal was very good but a real shame not to be able to hear each other because it was so noisy, too many tables, too crowded and overheated.

Warm welcome, typical brasserie atmosphere! I recommend the steak with Café de Paris sauce, as well as the Burger Fribourgeois which is a beautiful creation which symbolizes the canton of Fribourg.

Deserves the favorite of the gourmet passport, super friendly staff, super gourmet passport formula. To return.

Good service, good food, good setting, an unmissable address, great. We will regret as we die not having returned once again to the CHF 39 boulevard. Because yes, we are mortal, so we calculate more, and we go to the restaurant and enjoy!

Good steak but little quantity at this price (cheaper elsewhere). Exaggerated dessert prices. CHF 16.50.- gourmet coffee with tasteless crème brûlée. Lack of taste for the soft chocolate too. The meal was generally good but average value for money.

We came for a birthday, there were 14 of us. Our table was pushed against another row of tables, impossible to hear each other chat. The warm goat cheese salad was good. The tartare lacked spices and the burgers at 30CHF with a salad leaf and no sauce are not respectful of the customer. Despite everything, the server was attentive and helpful. So I'm focusing more on the kitchen.

The waiter put us at a table in the middle of other customers and there was too much noise!!! When we arrived we barely heard the waiter who told us to go to the table. We couldn't talk because we didn't get along! You could have placed us at a table a little further away knowing there was plenty of room. The staff was friendly. We took their specialty. The starter salad was good. The buttered steak with fries was good but too salty and there wasn't a single vegetable with the main course! Never seen that! Otherwise the toilets were clean and the building magnificent.

My burger bread was burnt and they made a mistake with my burger. They asked if it was okay. Wasn't very happy

Poor value for money and service

Burger quality leaves something to be desired. When booking, it would have been nice to let us know that our table was on the terrace (especially when it's not hot). However, we appreciated the cover.

The restaurant is typically Fribourgeois, the decor of the building, the dishes are more than delicious for a reasonable price, the service is very smiling and very friendly, I found no fault with this restaurant which is why I give it 5 stars

I like the concept of entrecôte served on a stove, it's friendly. On the other hand, the atmosphere is always spoiled by a gentleman at the service who is not professional, no friendliness

The entrecôte in the Cafe de Paris sauce is really amazing, especially since it stays warm thanks to the rechaud. That alone makes it worth going. The front part is also very nicely decorated, while the back part is less nice and is quite cramped as there are a lot of tables (they are probably trying to sell as many tables as possible). Unfortunately, the service was mediocre and the food arrived far too quickly. The starter arrived after just 5 minutes and a few minutes after finishing the starter the main course arrived :(

I went there almost a year ago, on a Saturday evening and it was great! This evening, a Sunday, I don't know if it's due to the gourmet passport or something else but fortunately the food was still good but the service was really really unfriendly!!!! Damage...

The concept didn't particularly appeal to me. There were three of us and we were served on the same dish which, given the price, would deserve a plate for each. What's more, I found the sauce really very oily but it was still tasty. I found that one of the men in the service was very unfriendly. However, the woman who found the table for us was very kind and helpful. Unfortunately many criteria will mean that I will not return there.

A succulent menu from start to finish... impeccable service... the meat a pure delight like the café de Paris and I'm not even talking about the fries... my taste buds were crazy

Excellent welcome and a treat for the taste buds! The tartars and meats are really excellent. Between friends or family, we are well received and we eat very well. The boss is smiling and super friendly. We really enjoyed returning to the restaurant in these perfect conditions.

The establishment is quite small but they want to accommodate a lot of people... Ok but eating at 5 on a small table and being glued to the next table is fine for a school canteen, not a restaurant... The card was not offered, it is a QR code on the placemat to be scanned, just to have a whole table planted on their phone. The service is expeditious and it is very unpleasant! The waitress who is dishonest in her gestures (taking the bread basket from her hands for example). Orders during the meal for drinks are forgotten. The general service was very long and no one has any real interest in the customer and it shows. Given the price of the card, we hoped for a minimum of consideration and a somewhat warm welcome... But no... Zero points... The bottle of wine opened in a hurry, the waitress doesn't even stay near us while I'm tasting and doesn't ask if it's OK before serving all the glasses as if it were a drinking trough... We wasn't there to get drunk, a little finesse doesn't hurt... Big drafts every time the front door opens... In February it's very unpleasant. No smiles from the employees. Personally, if I go to a restaurant on a Saturday evening with family it's for pleasure and to have a good, friendly and warm time... In this establishment it's a failure... The only star is for the food which is generally good. Would the cook be the only one who knows how to work here???? But sorry for him, that's not enough in the face of the total disappointment of this "school canteen"...

Contrary to the comments written below, the service was impeccable, smiling and friendly. Regarding the food I am very disappointed, I had excellent memories of this restaurant, but I will probably not come back again. The Rossini burger with foie gras was very poor. It was served with bread, steak, and foie gras. No salad in it, no cheese and very little sauce. I think that when I pay 34 francs for a burger, it must be impeccable! A leaf of salad was accompanied with the burger... The softness was not a chocolate softness but a cake and the meringue was accompanied by a Berlingo cream, I think the minimum would be to add real crème fraîche.. .

I ate there at lunchtime alone. The reception was very cold, I was put at a table in the corner between the bar and a French window hidden by a curtain. Lots of draft. I had a “Brossini” steak which I didn’t like. The foie gras on top was not fresh. Finally, I ask for the bill, they put it on the table and then nothing... after several attempts at demonstrations and more than 10 minutes finally I manage to pay. Value for money/quality/service 1 star

Stopping shortly before the holidays on a Saturday lunchtime. Very unpleasant service and a great lack of courtesy. No smile, reluctant to recommend the customer. The entrecôte as a main course is relatively weak in terms of taste apart from the sauce. Very disappointed with the prestige of the place and the price of the menu. I wouldn't go back there.

08.01.22 Couple 30 years old This is already the second time we have come and this time here we tasted the tartare as well as the foie gras burger. Really nothing to complain about!! Entrance board there are quite enough. The tartare is very well prepared and the foie gras burger is a good piece to enjoy. Perfect atmosphere very very good and we will continue to come back. We took a menu for CHF 68.- with a foie gras as starter, followed by a truffle risotto. As main course you get the house speciality, which is a beef café Paris. Finally we could choose a dessert from the menu. On the positive side: one waitress was really friendly and prepared our table quickly after the previous guests left. The meat and fries are good. Improvement points: one waitress did not smile at all and just put things on the table so we had to sort them out ourselves (spoon, menu, drinks...). Sorry for her, but if she doesn't like the contact to customers, she got the wrong job. Meat and french fries are good, but vegetables were missing. I feel that for this price, the menu was too simplistic. Plus, wines have a nice markup (from CHF 17 to CHF 52), for which the service doesn't explain the price.

The cuisine is ok, but how they treat clients is really off. If you're not an "old and known" client, you don't exist for them. You have to practically force them to serve you. And it's not cheap for a "brasserie". I've seen better and eaten in better too.

I discovered this restaurant in 2004 when the Equey family was in charge. I worked there as a kitchen helper (during my cooking training at the CFPS in Courtepin). Alas I am far from Friborg now but I hope this restaurant has not changed. My best memory: arriving early in the kitchen and eating Café de Paris by the spoonful at 6:00 in the morning. I hope the recipe was passed on because it was truly divine. Thank you Mr Equey for these wonderful moments in the kitchen and this family atmosphere! Too bad we can only give 5 stars.

Too expensive for what it is. Very good salad sauce (too bad the salad was tiny), really ordinary fries in very small quantities, steak ok but nothing extraordinary. Good desserts but very long wait. So it would be worth a 2.5/5, I could have given it a 3 if the boss had offered us coffee but... nothing... so I'll give it a 2. I don't plan on going back.

The meat sauce and salad sauce are good but that's the only thing interesting, plus it's not enough to justify the prices charged. Haughty and medicore service. According to the person I was with, this is usual in this establishment. I asked for a fruity wine and was told that it didn't exist and that it was only for dessert. But suddenly, when I asked for the first one he recommended, it was really undrinkable, although I'm not picky and even less a connoisseur. Another unusual fact: they charged me 3.- for the carafe of water... 😂 Anyway... I never post comments because for me everything is forgivable but what a lack of education and courtesy.

Atmosphère agréable avec un service rapide et professionnelle qui n'a pas changé depuis notre dernière visite. Les mets bien présentés et fait maison nous ont fait passé un très bon moment culinaire. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié cette escapade fribourgeoise et ne pouvons que recommander cet endroit.

Accueil lamentable. On a réservé pour 2. On entre, donne le nom de la réservation. Réponse : "Vous avez le passeport ?" non. On ne nous dit même pas où aller et pose la même question aux clients derrière nous.Je venais pour la chasse. Je choisis le pavé de chevreuil "On n'en a plus". Je prends autre chose et une salade. On m'apporte la salade "Vous voulez du rouge ?" alors que je venais de le commander chez la collègue... Pas de "Bon appétit" rien. Le plat arrive, servi sur une assiette froide. Je me réjouis pour les marrons : il y en a 3 dans l'assiette...Plat moyen mais service médiocre. Plus jamais on ne m'y reverra.Je déconseille fortement

On été mangé dans ses resto pour la première fois on a pris le tartare et bouger magnifique la viande très bonne, service magnifique toujours à le auteur . On se réjouit de allé la prochaine fois resto à recommandé
