Brera in Zürich

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Brera Restaurant and I cannot say enough about how fantastic my experience there was. The service was simply excellent and I would especially like to thank Grigoris for his warm hospitality. His cocktail recommendations were to my liking, and the food selection was simply outstanding. The atmosphere was welcoming and cozy, and the entire team ensured my evening was unforgettable. I can recommend Brera Restaurant to anyone looking for an excellent culinary experience. Very fine food in a cozy atmosphere - recommended!

Even though the restaurant was full, we were seated at the bar and had a very good time. The bartender was very friendly with positive vibes and the cocktails were very good. Overall, a nice place with a cozy atmosphere and also delicious dishes.

Nope, not a good place. The only beer costs 7.50 for 3dl (and is not even tasty). The wine menu is also totally overprized for what it is and the pizza was a disapointment. One of this cash cow places in the zurich gastronomy scene…

The provided experience, service, atmosphere and quality of food do not reflect the price you pay, and the image they share on social media. Wouldn’t recommend it for dinner - maybe lunch only. The place is very noisy, tables are too close to eachother - feels like a lunch canteen. The host was rude, arrogant and not friendly. Waiter - lack of service knowledge (example: replace the knife with a spoon as I ordered tagliatelle). There were a few such service details that were not respected. The waiter seemed stressed and busy, and the little break in between dishes puts you somehow under pressure to eat and go. You feel their attitude of profit and seat’s availability maximisation. I felt as I was not invited on a culinary experience and to take the time and enjoy. I felt more as seat, eat, pay and leave the place to some other customers. -The negroni is excellent. -The Burrata and Parma starter could be for 2 pax (big portion). -The truffle tagliatelle are ok, there are better in Zurich. -The tiramisu is not good.

It was fantastic, really wonderful food, fresh products with a similar taste, as if I were in Italy. And - we sat casually at the bar - with even tastier cocktails from professional & friendly bartenders👍

The Brera is lovingly furnished and you immediately feel at home, although the full restaurant is rather loud, but that's perfect. The starters are excellent; The Vitello tonnato is particularly recommended. The pizzas are also very tasty, I can highly recommend the pizza with burrata and pine nuts.

When we visited this wonderful Italian restaurant as a couple and sat at the bar, our experience was simply fantastic. The service was warm and friendly while the bartender impressed us with his great cocktails and exuded a positive energy that made our experience even more enjoyable. Each drink was a real dance of flavors and aromas that made our experience even more unique. The dishes were equally delicious and enjoyable, giving us an unforgettable evening full of flavors and pleasant impressions.

The two of us were there for lunch. First of all, the service was first class! Many thanks to the polite and courteous young gentleman. Thanks to his recommendation we also ate a great dessert. I had a salad and my girlfriend had a soup. For the main course I had the meat dish and my girlfriend had a pizza. The food was prepared quickly and was really tasty. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone for a lunch in Zurich.

We were spontaneously in Zurich and wanted to have lunch and the Brera restaurant spoke to us via Google. We received a warm welcome and were given a nice table by the plants. The young waiter gave us very good advice and took great care of us and also showed us the really beautiful wine cellar. The food was very very good! The salad was fresh and the house dressing was well made, but the main course blew us away. My girlfriend ate a pizza and I ate the meat dish from the menu and a nice white wine. After the meal we said a warm goodbye. We will definitely visit the restaurant again when we are in Zurich! We recommend

Was in Brera for the first time today - one thing is clear, it wasn't the last time I was there! The food as well as the service and everything around it was super harmonious! I had Parma as an antipasti and then the tagliatelle with truffle - very, very tasty! The nightcap was a Negroni - yummie! Can only recommend Brera!

I loved this place, the atmosphere is wonderful, lovely decor and the food was amazing! Can’t get over the zucchini flowers with ricotta and the burrata pizza. Tiramisu was heavenly light and fluffy. Can’t wait to be back, highly recommend it.

We tried our luck here on a Saturday night without a reservation and were fortunate to be given a table. Lots of great Italian cocktails for non-drinkers (pregnant) and our lovely waitress translated the menu and let us know which dishes were vegetarian and pescatarian friendly (plenty!). Pumpkin tortellini was absolutely delicious. Lovely warehouse space, was busy but not too loud or crowded. Very glad we found this great restaurant!

Service is VERY slow and not great. Too expensive for the quality of food. Pasta very overcooked. Forgot one of our dishes. Not happy.

My tram stopped due to a demonstration. I luckily found this great bar nearby. Great drinks and ambiance. I will definitely try their food next time.

The waiters know their menu inside out and can give great recommendations. Everyone is very attentive and friendly. Fast service. Noise level is good to have a nice chat without raising your voice too much. Italian food to its excellence, I just love this place. The home made tagliatelle so tartuffo are to die for. Portion sizes are perfect - not too little and not too big. The desserts are small enough to be able to get two (yay).

We heard very good things about this place. Unfortunately we did not read the reviews before going here - I have to say all these descriptions couldn’t be more true. Unfriendly and frankly quite rude service. We ordered our drinks, starters and main courses at the same time. Literally 30 seconds after our order, we waved down our waitress and asked if it was possible to change one of the main course items from pizza to pasta. She refused as it was already ordered. And reacted pretty rudely. A couple of minutes later, the same waitress informed us the other dish we ordered was not available. As we thought this means the order “was not processed” (like she said) we asked if now it was possible to change. To which she snappily replied “I already said that it’s not possible.” The service just went down from here. Actually, there was almost no service. We ended up waiting 90 minutes for the dish we couldn’t change. Food ended up being good but not outstanding. Disappointing. Left no tip, to which we received an eye roll. Do not recommend. Not going here again.

The pizza was pretty good so far, the dough could be a little better but otherwise it was ok. The prices for the pizzas are a bit high, but they are also quite large.

The food was tasty, but the portion for a plate of pasta is really steep for 32 euros. Service could be friendlier.

Great italian. We went there for diner; the truffle pasta were really nice. My friend had a pizza that was tasty as well. Great tiramisu. The cocktails were good but the only thing that was missing is a « regular » cocktail menu; only crazy signature ones. I will come back and recommend this place.

Pizza quite dry, pasta portion small, antipasti were good. The service was moderately attentive. Prices too high for what is offered. The ambience is nice.

Did not check the prices when I was ordering a pizza for take-away, but never have I ever paid 32 CHF for a pizza prosciutto. The pizza was okay but not astonishing.

There's always a "yes" if it comes to Brera in Zürich. Mid in the city, yet bit hidden from the crowd - so you can enjoy your stay both in or outside on the terrace. Wonderful und super friendly staff, on top of extremely well prepared and delicious food, as well as special coctails - it's definitely what one needs at the end of a busy week.

Bottomless impudence. So young adults you are not welcome at all. We were treated so badly and had to wait an eternity and people next to us who came after us were eating long before us.

Excellent quality of the products used for the pizzas and excellent preparation of the dishes in general, Italian cuisine. Spacious and comfortable environment, guaranteed by adequate spaces. Professional and exquisitely kind and helpful service. The pizzas: Ideal place for lovers of low, thin and crunchy pizza, they don't make "Neapolitan" pizza, so nothing typical high curb. Dessert list a little short on options, and perhaps a little more to add to the official menu.

Some plates are better than others, but definitely an overcooked carbonara with way too much cheese. For what I paid, quite overpriced too. Depending on who you get, also some quite impolite service…

Great and lively place with music for unpretentious but excellent tavolata-style Italian food and good wines - slow service at times

My first time in the restaurant was perfect: our waiter was super nice, food delicious and the atmosphere super cool. I liked it so much that I decided to invite my partner on a date here - sad to say the second time was not so nice. We made a reservation and due to traffic we arrived 15 minutes late (our booking was early on the evening around 18h). First thing we did was apologize for arriving late, and the person that checked us in was pretty impolite. He did not only not smile and looked angry the whole time, but also told us that we were very disrespectful for not calling and saying we were late. The restaurant was completely empty and only two tables were taken by the time we left. Even if the food was as delicious and the waiters as nice as the first time, this check-in was uncomfortable, unprofessional and left us with a bad taste. You should not greet your clients (who are going to spend quite a lot of money) that way.

Nothing to complain. Fine food, friendly service, good crowd, fair prices and good wine selection.

The experience was fully worth the recommendation! Fiori di zucca frutti and tagliatelle al tartufo were so rich in taste that made me smile at the end (the wine contributed to it too) :) Finally, the tiramisu aftertaste completed the composition. The service was very friendly and with perfect timing, grazie!

Price-performance ratio is not right for me. The prices are too high and the quality is not very high. The location is nice, but the service was unfriendly.

The hosts, as well as the entire team, are very accommodating and attentive. The food was excellent and the drinks were excellent. The wine list was perfectly selected. I would love to come back.

Ok food but service needs improvement

Not recommendable! Were there on a Sunday evening with a reservation. Before we were even greeted, there was a derogatory comment from the Chef de Service (?/big ear plugs) about our stroller. The service employee didn't understand a word of Züridütsch (the word Stange was new to her...) and communicated in English. We didn't feel welcome. On Sunday there is only pizza, but it was average at best and the price was around 25% higher than usual in Zurich. The small Appenzeller beer, with its own fancy label, is sold for a very proud CHF 7.50. Maybe the pasta is good, so to be fair, 2 stars.

We had a wonderful experience in Brera. The interior was beautiful, and the atmosphere was great. The details in the interior were on point. Our waiter (from Torino) made the dinner even better. Gnocchi with octopus was great, and my ravioli di Zucca were too al dente for my taste, but this will not stop me from coming back again! Great place!

A very decent Italian place. We tried the rigatoni alla piemontese several times - it is a recommendation. We have also tried cacio e peppe- the first time it was a bit too salty, and the second time there was way to much pepper. One needs to make the recipe more stable.

We had a really fantastic tavolata, which we were far from finishing. Including surprisingly tasty vegan pizzas. The fact that they play Italo disco in the basement is the cherry on top. You have to go there.

Very nice restaurant. We were there on a Sunday and there is « only » pizza. The food was good but a bit expensive. The service also seems to be reduced on Sundays and cannot be counted on.

Good selection of Italian food and cocktails. The cuttlefish ink risotto was amazing.

Super pleasant and funny service. Very good food, pizzas are great. Great facility even for large groups. Rigatoni with truffles are recommended, as are the pizzas.

Looks expensive, food not special

A cosy restaurant with a nice ambiance! Will for sure be perfect for a Date night. We ordered the zucchini Butterfly as a starter to share but was not so impressed...although the dip that came with it was delicious and they served us an assortment of bread! I ordered a Funghi Pizza and it tasted amazing! 🤩 would happily order it again. A nice selection of cocktails/beers/drinks too. Yes its Zürich so it's a little on the expensive side. But a nice little treat.

Way too loud and a little too expensive

The Italian restaurant Brera near the Lochergut in Zurich not only impresses with its unique location, but also with its food and service. The menu is rather small, but you can find a lot of not so common Italian food combinations on it. Every Sunday is Pizza Day, which is why you can only order that on that day. It would be nice if the restaurant were a little more centrally located. It is rather difficult to reach by public transport. Still, it's worth a trip there!

We came here for dinner with a group of friends and had some wine , we each had an “antipasto” ( I would recommend the Ceviche from the picture below), and we then shared a couple of pizzas, so far the food was very good! Unfortunately, some of us we then order some simple and classical spaghetti vongole, that were TRULY THE WORSE spaghetti vongole I had ever tried in my life!!! This is a very traditional and simple dish to prepare but they decided to mix SO MANY different flavors and, believe you me, non of those “flavors” worked well together, it was a shocking to know how bad the pasta was in a supposedly Italian place!

Food was really good but service was a disaster: rude (even for Zurich), flippant and unprofessional, calling guests "greedy" and saying "my shift is over, so I don't have to deal with you any longer". The chef de service is disregarding the fracas, only the chef de cuisine is trying to limit the damage... No wonder were there only a very few guests on a Saturday evening.

It's a nice restaurant. We tried the pizzas and an entry to share, the portions are a perfect size, and yes, I think both dishes were delicious. I would say the pizza is on the expensive side. We also ordered cocktails, and they were delicious. The downside or something they could improve on is the timing of serving food. It took way over one hour to get the pizzas, the place was not full, and we waited around 40 minutes between the entry and the main dish, which was annoying since waiting that long makes you lose appetite. The service was really polite.

The Brera was a great experience😋😋. The dishes were all super tasty! The lightly fried zucchini flowers alone were amazing! The pizza, rolled out nice and thin and absolutely not over-seasoned🙏🏻. The non-alcoholic cocktails were also great. I would love to come back! En Goode😋😋

4 stars for drinks, 2 stars for food. It's a trendy spot for cocktails and has a good vibe however pizza here is not something I can recommend. Curious to try other dishes, however based on what my friends and I got I can't give a great review.

Eating at Brera for the first time! Nice and committed service. Good wine list with bottle prices, which were not cheap but normal for Zurich. Drank white Collazzi and a Barbaresco, fine things. The food was wonderful and well presented. Fried calamari on a lemon carpaccio. Unfortunately, the waiter didn't tell us that the marinated lemons 🍋 could also be eaten. Then I had black risotto with Gamberi, which was all extremely tasty. The tiramisu at the end was also very good. We were able to sit outside, which was very pleasant.
