Well, it used to be a great neighborhood pub... today the crowd is from the neighborhood but the food is a little fancy.. but the quality and taste are good (except for the meat, a touch more flavor) and the service is very good and friendly

I had heard a lot of good things about the sausage and cheese salad with fries. But was a bit disappointed, normal portion, the salad was so cold that the sausage and cheese taste didn't particularly stand out.

Solid, honest cuisine. Nice staff and good service. Quite loud for lunch - but that didn't bother me. The only thing that was noticeable, but not disturbing, was that when it was very cold outside, the whole guest room felt like it was cooling down as soon as someone entered it. So definitely a recommendation!

A nice restaurant with friendly staff who like to call guests on first name terms. The food is tasty and served reasonably quickly. There is enough choice and there is enough space. The prices are not cheap, the lunch menus are still affordable. You feel comfortable and are noticed.

The food was delicious. The selection of food was ok, although I was very sobering to discover that no bouillon was offered. In my opinion, this should be the basic choice in every restaurant. The ambience is classically robust, but the price is rather upscale.

Chicken wasn't completely cooked through, but everything else was great!

The menu offers everything - down-to-earth but still very modern interpreted menus. A menu could be changed to a veggie menu without any problems - thanks again for that. We had burgers and the sausage and cheese salad. Everything tasted really great. For wine you could offer bottle prices. But that's not a point of criticism - just a small note. Will definitely come back.

In general, we are present at the AGM every year with the Swisscom sports club. It is a pleasant atmosphere with nice staff and good cuisine and moderate prices, simply recommended.

Excellent restaurant 5 minutes from Basel train station

Very crowded restaurant, where you can eat typical dishes and more, the beer is good, even if there isn't much choice...

We went there for lunch without a reservation. The restaurant was busy, but we were still able to get a table. It is advisable to reserve. There are 4 menus to choose from, one is vegetarian and one is fish. This menu stays the same all week. The food was good, the service could have been more attentive. A guest came after us at another table, but had the food in front of us.

When I read "price reasonable", "price average"... 4.50CHF for 3dl of still water is anything but reasonable.

The “Bundesbähnli” is our absolute favorite restaurant in Basel. Not only is the food super fresh and always prepared to perfection, each dish is also seasonally adapted. In addition, no matter what special request you have for the kitchen, it will be fulfilled with creativity and enthusiasm. The price/performance ratio is absolutely unbeatable. The portion sizes are always enough for me as a strength sports enthusiast! Thank you for being here, you often save our evenings :)

Von aussen eher unscheinbar, wurden wir innen positiv überrascht: weisse Tischdecken, vielfältige Speisekarte, auch Wildgerichte, WCs sehr sauber. Einen Punkt Abzug gibt es, weil die ansonsten freundliche Bedienung andauernd zum Rauchen vor die Türe verschwunden ist, obwohl das Lokal für einen Sonntag Abend und trotz Corona gut besucht war und alle deshalb warten mussten.

Erstmals als Gast vor Ort. Gute, freundliche Bedienung. Essen gut bis sehr gut. Preis-/Leistung-/Qualitäts-Verhältnis OK.

Als Eisenbahn-Freund bin ich hier schon mehrmals eingekehrt. Jedes Mal haben mich die Qualität der Küche und die freundliche Bewirtung überzeugt.

Klassische Schweizer Küche mit einem gewissen Pfiff. Aussergewöhnlich lecker und absolut faire Preise. Die Bedienung ist aufmerksam und freundlich. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Probieren Sie das Lammfilet - möglicherweise das beste, das ich je gegessen habe! ! Die Suppe de Saison war interessant - kalte Gurke mit etwas geräuchertem Lachs auf der Seite. Alles in allem eine angenehme Erfahrung mit gutem Service.

Wir wollten mit dem Prozentbuch vorbeikommen. Wegen Covid-19 sei das aber nicht akzeptiert. Sorry, aber das geht gar nicht. Wenn es uns geschmeckt hätte, wären wir ja wieder gekommen. Aber so?

Das Restaurant liegt nahe des Hauptbahnhofs und verfügt über eine gedeckte Terrasse, so dass man wunderbar draussen essen kann und trotzdem vor Sonne und Regen geschützt ist. Die Speisekarte ist gepflegt, Allergene werden ausgewiesen, das Fleisch stammt generell aus der Schweiz. Auch wenn der Service etwas aufmerksamer sein dürfte, waren die Gerichte geschmacklich und in der Präsentation tadellos, das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist absolut in Ordnung. Hier kehren wir sehr gerne wieder ein.

Bon restaurant autour du thème du train. La cuisine est excellente. Le foie de veau bien servi et bien assaisonné. La poêlée du patron avec son entrecôte mérite votre attention.

War wieder einmal hier nach langer Zeit zum Mittagessen. Menüauswahl ist gut, Service war etwas langsam (trotz Corona Gästezahl Limite). Hatte eine Käseschnitte, die gerade noch ok war. Nicht mehr als 3 Punkte wert, würde ich nicht mehr bestellen.
