Margherita in Basel

Suddenly I wanted to eat pizza, so I stopped by. I was thankful that they tried to make room somehow because there were a lot of people with reservations. What was disappointing was that there was no English menu. However, as I was lost in choosing a menu, a regular sitting next to me recommended several items. Thanks to that, we talked about various things and received recommendations, and the margherita I had thanks to him was truly the best. The staff is so friendly that you want to make friends. On my solo trip, that couple left me with precious memories. Margherita is very good, staffs are very kind. This restaurant gave me a good memory of Basel. I came alone here but the couple next to me, recommend the menu and made me comfortable all time.

Just perfect! The pizzas are absolutely amazing and you can't get better anywhere in Napoli (and yes, I love food and I know quite a bit about it). The prices are rather high for a pizza like this, but they are rather too low. The products used are not those that you can simply buy wholesale, but are not purchased directly from the manufacturer in Italy! Absolutely recommended!

After the visit, I wanted to go to the toilet. However, at around 11pm I was no longer allowed to go to the toilet. However, I was surprised that the business was open until midnight, even though the service told me that it closed at 11 p.m. What's up? Restaurant is basically perfect.

Amazing pizza in Basel, one of the best I’ve ever tried! The staff is super nice, professional and fast. The pizza has soft and thin dough, the ingredients are high quality. It is cool that you can compose your own pizza, choosing from various options. Definitely worth enjoying your meal there! :)

We really enjoyed our stay there and will definitely come back there. The quality of the products used was very good. You have to make a reservation for a family, otherwise a reservation is recommended. The staff is very friendly, sometimes funny but still serious.

Unfortunately my entire table didn't get the right pizzas... that can happen But unfortunately the pizza wasn't in the oven yet. It was still a bit doughy in the middle and therefore rather limp

Without hesitation the best pizza I have eaten, I often go there with my girlfriend and many friends and everyone is of the same opinion. The staff is very welcoming and always friendly ❤️👍. I don't hesitate to make the trip from Jura just to eat my good pizza 😅🤤🤤

Real Italian atmosphere. Narrow restaurant so everyone walks past you while eating. Friendly staff. Delicious starters and pizzas. Simple food, truly Italian, with quality ingredients. There is a delicious olive oil on the table and spicy (!) peppers with the main course.

Incredibly good pizza, with mozzarella you can choose between buffala, burrata, affumicata and fior di latte. Tip: Be sure to reserve. We came spontaneously and were relatively left behind compared to the guests with reservations.

Fine dining, cozy, traditional, you can deacribe this place with those 3 words quite easily. Very good pizza as the dough was very soft deapite being crispy on the crust. Toppings were delicious ans the tomato sauce super nice. Service was on point as they helped out my grandma who couldnt cut pizza a lot, from choosing or changing menus to cutting the pizza for her etc. Very cozy inside and will be visiting it from time to time for sure. :)

We ended up in this pizzeria by chance, four women for dinner and it was really a hit! We were lucky that Thursday evening was Ladies Night, with a 30% discount. Given the Swiss prices, which are truly unbelievable for Germans (the equivalent of around 30 EUR per pizza), this was of course particularly lucky. There was free champagne on top. On the one hand, higher prices in Switzerland are definitely justified because the quality of the ingredients is much higher than in normal German pizzerias, but the rest was also simply a pleasure. What is particularly noteworthy, however, is the service. We were served so incredibly kindly and funny - we felt comfortable there every second. Thank you very much for a wonderful evening, in which the very good food was irrelevant!

For my tastes, despite still having top quality products, the pizza dough has dropped in taste.

I had a fantastic 26th birthday at this restaurant! The food was delicious, the drinks were outstanding and the service was perfect. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Very friendly waiters, good pizzas and great atmosphere.

The service was friendly and the pizza is the best I had in Switzerland and very tasty, maybe just a little too charred for my liking. The price of the pizza is very high, but the worst area is the drinks. 5.50CHF for one bottle of coke and I think 3.50CHF for tap water! I would have been more than happy to tip the waiter if I didn’t find the tap water price so crazy. The toilets also require some improvement, the tap appears broken in the male toilets.

Very good quality. Delicious. Unfortunately, like everywhere else in Switzerland, very high prices. Still a clear recommendation.

Miserable service. Long wait, wrong dishes brought, but still put on the bill in addition to the correct ones. Drinks that no one had ordered were charged and an extra 7 CHF was charged for “kitchen”. Plus everyone was very unfriendly. But at least the food was delicious. Still, never again.

One of the best pizzas I ever had, including pizzerias in Italy 🇮🇹. Excellent ingredients, wonderful disposal onto the pizza and perfect cooking. If you ever go for a pizza in Basel, this is a must to try.

Today we were at Margherita as a family (with two children aged 2 and 5). And we were pleasantly surprised. Good food, very friendly staff & super child-friendly. Top!! We'll definitely be back!

Cheap little pizzeria in an otherwise expensive place

I had a pinsa, but it was a bit dry and not particularly tasty and I found it a bit small for the price. The staff seemed happy but also stressed, which one of the employees mentioned often. In addition, other people, especially women, were spoken to very rudely. In addition, the menu is difficult to understand for a person who cannot speak Italian.

Cheap beer, Pizza Margherita without spices and love for mostly bread...Incompetent Chef de Service but nose in the offside... Espresso a problem, you should go to McDo. order! Expired tiramisu is offered. The toilet is in poor hygienic condition, no hand paper and no water. More of a joke than a restaurant.. The prices are crazy too. Good luck, much room for improvement..

Pizza is good, but you can get a children's pizza for a lot of money

Small but nice. I've been there three times already, the waiters are always hectic. That's why there is sometimes a waiting time when serving or serving. The food was very good but my pinsa was a bit black on one side and not as soft as the dough like the other 3. There was a wait to pay and while paying there was a rush.

Good pizza. The Margherita pizza works as the foundation you build your pizza on. First you pick the kind of mozzarella you like (buffala, smoked, buratta....), and then choose the toppings you want to add.

Decent Italian cuisine being in Switzerland, it's a shame that the dishes are cold, the pasta and meat could be better. I recommend heating the dishes 👍

Good food, always fresh products, great emphasis is placed on very good quality. Service was very accommodating and friendly...despite the hectic pace, everyone remained pleasantly calm. There's a good family vibe in the air. I can only recommend it...I would love to come back🙏 Thanks

We Gugge snake catchers had dinner on Carnival Monday. Was super good.

Amazing pizza, neopolitan style. Fantastic pasta. Lots of Italian people eating there which is a positive sign. The atmosphere is really great people people really enjoying there meal and company. The people there are super friendly and that really sets the atmosphere for a great meal. It really it's a gem.

Pizza was good but with a bit too much oil for my taste. The spicy salami was just right for me. The personnel was quite hectic and it was very noisy. When we asked for a large bottle of still water they said they only have small ones. We had to ask again later for a jug of water because we saw them carry one out to a different table..

Very tasty Neapolitan pizza in the higher price segment. The pizza crust is soft but also crispy at the same time. However, the ingredients are of high quality. Comes in top 3 in Basel.

I have to say, I really underestimated this restaurant. The staff was very friendly, the dessert was sold out and I was offered a coffee in return. And I have rarely eaten such a fluffy and tasty pizza in Switzerland as I did here! The price-performance ratio is insane. I can recommend it.

The pasta are very tasty, one of the best I have tried in Basel. But the service is definitely too slow. We were a group of 6 and we had to wait 1 hour and half to be served. Once the starters were ready and on the table, the waiter also need 20 minutes to bring the plates. The restaurant was not particularly full, and other groups arrived later but get served before.

The fresh pasta is hot and tasty, like the waiter with tattoos. But the service could really be 3 times faster, we waited incredibly long.

Ich liebe Pizza. Pizza ist mein absolutes Lieblingsessen. Leider gibt es aber in der Schweiz nur wenige Pizzerien, die meinen Ansprüchen einer perfekten Pizza gerecht werden.Bei einem kurzen Wochenendaufenthalt in Basel bin ich zufällig in diesem Restaurant gelandet.Die Pizza im Margherita, hat einen luftigleichten Boden, mit der perfekten Dicke. Der Rand der Pizza ist jedoch dick und luftig, zeigt, wie fest der Teig beim Backen aufgegangen ist und hat einen tollen Geschmack.Dazu kommen hochwertige Zutaten und eine feine Tomatensauce dazu. Die Mozzarella Stücke werden nicht einfach drauf gestreut sondern in grossen Stücken darauf verteilt! Das Personal war aufmerksam und unkompliziert.Sobald ich wieder nach Basel reise, werde ich hier wieder eine feine Pizza essen gehen, das ist sicher! LG Eli
