Burehuus in Thun

I was in the Burehuus for the first time a few months ago. Almost everything went wrong and you could tell how genuinely sorry the staff were! When we paid we were offered coffee and given a voucher for the next meal! We were there again last week and everything was wonderful! The service is very friendly and humorous and the food was really very good! We'll definitely be back! :-)

We celebrated our wedding in the hall last Saturday and were absolutely satisfied. Highly recommended! From the planning to the celebration itself, the advice and service was perfect. Everyone felt very comfortable and really enjoyed the food. The whole staff was very attentive and very friendly. We'd love to come back! Thank you for everything!

I was hoping for more because the prices are very high. Very small portions. Very expensive wines.

Everything worked out for us. Eat good. This time a vegetable burger and delicious wine. You feel at home here.

We have been/have come here for dinner many times. The food, service and ambience are excellent. The Rest. Burehus is certainly not run-of-the-mill (even if the menu may suggest so). The dishes are special (also particularly tasty) and not the classic "good-bourgeois" cuisine. The selection of drinks is also great. The only (small) point of criticism: It would be nice if all the main courses had at least a few vegetables. I realize vegetables aren't for everyone, but they would still be the icing on the cake (even with an extra charge).

There were two of us in the restaurant and we really enjoyed it. We really liked the atmosphere in the old farmhouse and the staff were friendly and accommodating. We only found the prices for the bark trecote at 44.- and the veal cordon bleu at 46.- a bit high.

The Sunday brunch is absolutely amazing. The selection is fantastic, the cakes are heaven on earth, as is the dessert buffet. Very nice service. The atmosphere is cozy and homely. Absolute recommendation!!!

The food was down-to-earth and very tasty. The ambience was good, it just didn't necessarily have a farmhouse feel to it, as you might imagine from the name.

My experience was entirely positive. The online reservation went smoothly and my special requests were carefully taken into account. The restaurant's decor is subtle yet cozy, which contributes to a relaxed atmosphere. The staff was extremely friendly, polite and seemed well coordinated, which made the service even more pleasant. Each dish was prepared with care and beautifully presented. I can particularly recommend the goat cheese salad, the braised veal bread rolls and the lukewarm chocolate dessert – a real treat for the palate. The overall price-performance rating is ok. Although none of the dishes were exceptional or unique, some dishes exceeded price expectations.

Super nice restaurant. Furnished with a lot of love. We were at brunch. It was like the land of milk and honey. Very large selection of bread, confit, Flöckli, cheese cold cuts, salmon, rösti, scrambled eggs,... - everything your heart desires. Friendly service. Make reservations urgent.

Horrible horrible experience. Walked in at 1:37pm and was told there is no room. Although there were at least 4 empty tables. Very disappointed.

A visit to a restaurant that will definitely be remembered - in a positive sense. You are a guest in this house! The food is excellent and of very good quality! We were definitely not here for the last time!

Very nice cozy restaurant, highly recommended. The service was very accommodating, friendly and helpful. Price-performance is fair, rather expensive prices but very tasty. There are classic dishes that are beautifully presented. The food tastes very good and can also be enjoyed warm. We will be back.

The food was good and the service was friendly. We had to wait almost an hour between the starter and the main course. After about 30 minutes the waitress came over and said that the food was coming soon. Some guests who came after us ate the main course long before us.

I had lunch there with my family including dogs and was thrilled by the decor, the great service and the very fine food (best cordon bleu I've ever eaten - TOP!). Really a great restaurant where you can spend a nice time in peace with your loved ones. A big compliment to the staff: They did everything to make you feel comfortable. I'd love to come back next time!

Beautiful restaurant with very good food. Both the beef tartare and the cordon bleu are top notch! A little on the higher side in terms of price - but it's worth every cent. Employees are extremely attentive and friendly. A big plus point (and something we've never experienced before) - when the order wasn't delivered quite correctly, we promptly received an apology and were asked about a solution that would suit us. Mistakes happen, but how you deal with them makes the difference - first-class service!

We wanted to show relatives from abroad typical Swiss dishes without drowning them in cheese (Älpler, raclette, fondue) or otherwise becoming too stereotypical. And we did a great job at Burehuss: a good selection of typical dishes with local ingredients. There were no surprises or new creations on the menu for us, but everything was very solidly prepared. Add to that the great ambience in the garden! We would also be happy to come back without relatives!

Very tasty food from starter to dessert. Worth mentioning are the non-alcoholic aperitifs and decent prices for the wine. There were 1-2 glitches during service, which were immediately ironed out by colleagues. The atmosphere is pleasant and there is enough distance. We will be back.

Moderate brunch selection, very cold plates for the warm dishes, empty counters at 10:40 a.m. (brunch is offered until 12 p.m.) and when asked, the sleepy chef says that it will be refilled in a minute. After waiting for more than 10 minutes from the buffet, the replenishment came along with the statement that the kitchen couldn't do magic. Sauces for smoked salmon are only available upon request and when you ask it feels like you are bothering the kitchen. Compared to other brunch offers in the region, the CHF 42 is not worth it.

We have rarely received such courteous and friendly service as in the Burehuus. Furthermore, the food was fantastic and beautifully prepared. We felt comfortable and the atmosphere was really cozy. The price-performance ratio was very good. There is something for everyone on the menu. We felt welcome, we were able to enjoy good food and nothing was missing. The Burehuus is definitely worth a visit!

We became aware of the restaurant through the cinema advertising in the Rex Thun cinema. Everything fitted. We will be back. The small touches such as the amuse-bouche and the children's gifts should be highlighted.

At lunchtime, simpler, inexpensive dishes are served. In the evening, in the warm season, for example on the terrace, you can enjoy fine food. Reservations are recommended, especially when the weather is nice. There is a parking space directly in front of the restaurant and a second one a few meters next to it. Also easy to reach by STI bus line 5 and bike.

It was the first time there but definitely not the last time. Service very courteous and friendly. I felt very comfortable from the first second. Food super tasty. The atmosphere and the entire restaurant are very beautiful and lovingly designed! If I could I would give more than 5 stars ;)

Very nice and rustic, but at the same time a modern restaurant. Excellent menu and the food was to die for. Service very friendly. To start with, there was an amuse bouche and a delicious homemade biscuit to accompany the coffee. If you don't eat here, you're definitely missing out on a highlight.

Eaten at its best. Deer pepper... sensational. Our waiter, despite the mask, always had a smile in his eyes (that's all I could see) was very attentive and super friendly. PP available. Smoking is allowed in the winter garden. Great value for money. We will come back :-) Burehuus for the second :-) This time it was all about asparagus, and we got our money's worth. Simply great! We will come a third time, for sure :-)

We were disappointed with the selection at Sunday morning. There were three different types of meat and cheese. Margarine, honey, Nutella or similar not available. In general, the selection is very limited for the hefty 42 euros you pay. The service was "okay". I wouldn't go there again.

Went here to Grebt after an abdication. Service and food was good. The whole fuss with Covid is getting on my nerves. But the restaurant can't help it. We were happy to find a restaurant with enough space for the mourners.
