The food is quite ok, although the burgers are VERY small for the price; French fries bowls with some sauce for over 10.- hefty. It's quick and it's just a snack...

About once a week there. Always very efficient, friendly and the burgers and fries are always GREAT!!

Unfortunately we had to wait almost 20 minutes before we could place our order. The drinks and food were then served quickly. The ambience is "okay", nothing more. We are missing more comfortable seating. The burger tasted very good, the fries were standard and nothing special. But the menu wasn't enough to fill me up. The service was always friendly, but always only appeared after long waiting times.

Waited 20 minutes to order in an almost empty restaurant. Raclette burger was generally good, but there was practically no raclette cheese in it. Sweet potato fries cold, sour cream sauce still almost frozen. Food arrived quickly after ordering.

Best burger in town.. the bread, the meat so good as if you cook them at home.. I must add that the staff is quite friendly and always helpful with a smile

The burgers are really, really good. The meat tastes good, everything is wonderful. I would recommend it to anyone immediately. The sweet potato fries are also amazing. I really like the atmosphere and the staff is friendly. Recommended.

Went there during the Basel carnival and was very positively surprised! Large selection of hamburgers, fine in taste and well presented. Very friendly service, everyone polite and attentive. Clean and pleasant atmosphere.

This must have been the best burger we've ever had! We ordered a cheeseburger, and the raclette burger, some onion rings with a creme fraiche dip to die for, and home made lemonades. The waitress was lovely, and we paid 66 CHF, which is cheap for such a wholesome lunch in Switzerland!

As a fan of burgers, I enjoyed the food here. However, I must note that the experience for non-white customers seems markedly different. There's no Wi-Fi available, yet they require online ordering with weak signal inside. I found the staff to be rather hasty and rude, urging me to pay and leave even before I requested the bill. This service quality, seemingly based on ethnicity (they are relatively nice to Swissgerman clients) , is disappointing and not something I've experienced in French Switzerland.

A very decent hamburger and the sweet patatoe fries where very good.

The burger was very tasty, the bun paste for the burger was enormous, the meat with the bacon together was breathtaking, only that there were no fried onions and no mustard as the menu said, I ended up having fried onions on it without having to ask very tasty. But in the future please pay attention to what the Indian menu says or rewrite the menu but also inform the guests if there are any modifications to the menu. I went to Burgermeister because I saw few reviews on GF app. I spoke to the server and he told me that the burgers are gluten free and can be served on gf bun. I ordered BBQ burger, no tomato and chips. Order came in very quickly, no tomato on the burger, as requested. It was absolutely delicious 😋 A bit pricey, but it is Switzerland after all. I would certainly recommend it to other coeliac people. I saw some vegan options too. 👀

Actually nice atmosphere. Service was correct and also quick. The menu reads like a boring western. So nothing special. The Garden Burger was a desperate copy of a meat dish. When asked about this, the waiter says that they previously had a much better product, but for some unknown reason it was taken off the menu. A pity. The dessert menu was only half available and also quite haphazard. A white mass on a soggy biscuit in a mini glass pot is called cheesecake. Chf 161.50 for four burgers with drinks and a starter and a dessert is simply excessive. No no, good gastronomy is not rocket science.

came with my 2y old boy. maybe the main mistake, because little kids are not the target group catered here. no children's option on the menu. they offered French fries with some chicken and we gladly took that. price tag was unexpectedly high for a children's dish (15 CHF). My burger was very good, I have to admit. But if I'd be younger, I'd stayed hungry. which isn't good if you pay 28 CHF for burger with fries. The options aren't very diverse IMO. All in all we probably won't come back. Competitor HiG close by costs less, caters kids, has a nicer atmosphere and a larger burger taste diversity.

Good food and nice environment.

Took our burger obsessed family for a taste of the US after moving to Basel. The food will take you back to any good burger joint in the US. Toasted buns, perfectly charred ground beef and, maybe most importantly, excellent fries. I had the Raclette burger to see how local cheese paired with an American classic, and it did not disappoint. Plenty of melted cheese, crispy pickles and some other crunchy bit made for an awesome burger. My kids got plain cheese burgers and they were just plain good. The highlight may have been the onion rings, but not the rings themselves. The rings were good (think Culvers), but the sauce with them was amazing. There was plenty and we were dipping fries in it long after the rings were gone. The sauce was a dilly, sour cream, red onion dream. Think tzatziki crossed with sour cream ‘n onion dip. My kids can’t wait to come back and neither can we. Prices are high for the US, but normal for Switzerland.

Super tasty burger and fries! Since I have celiac disease, I ordered everything gluten-free. The waitress confirmed to me that everything was prepared separately. I really enjoyed the food and tolerated it without any problem!

We arrived and quickly got a burst, which was great. Unfortunately the burst was dirty. There were a lot of fries under the table from the previous guest and the whole table was oily The prices were far too high for the small portion you get. Otherwise the service was great, except that the lady forgot to take my sauce with her at first I won't visit this restaurant again as you leave with a hungry stomach

The order was taken incorrectly, tables were dirty and chairs were all over the place and last but not least the waitress ate while she was working.

It's just a burger. It was good but nothing special. For me the price performance is not right. 27 CHF for a burger with some fries is too much.

We had the special edition: Raclette burger! The best burger I ever had! Delicious! The fries (normal and sweet potato) were also good. Fast and pleasant service! A great experience!

We tried the Raclette Burger with normal and sweet potato fries, it was probably the best burger that we ate, Raclette fits perfectly with rostipatty and the high quality beef. They were burgers actually made by the masters! You definitely have to try them! Unexpectedly fast service and very pleasant as well.

The Burger is good but the fries are frozen and the portions are small. The “house” cocktails chf 7.90, a basil syrup with sparkling water and a basil leaf, it’s called a syrup and for a time we offered it to children.

Whenever I eat your burger, I think it couldn't be made any better, it's that delicious. But when I come back, I have the feeling that today the burger was even better than last time. If anything other than serving guests is more important, then you've come to the right place! There is a sign in front: "please wait here, we will accompany you to your table" after waiting 10 minutes the waitress says as she walks past: "you can sit down". Thanks for the sign! I can't swap fries for sweet potato fries? Absolutely not recommended!!! People look for jobs that they don't want to do and then offer terrible service!!!

Came here once by fluke when it first opened now it's My favorite restaurant in Basel. I literally go here once a week. I've brought my whole family and all my friends. AND THE BURGER IS SO GOOD! EVERY.SINGLE.TIME the staff are so friendly and thoughtful. The food is amazing. The vibe is very modern compared to other restaurants in Basel! Try the truffle burger 🤤

The Burgermeister not only offers a first-class ambience, but also first-class burgers. The staff is extremely friendly and ensures a pleasant stay. The Haus Meister Burger I tried was delicious and definitely a highlight. The cheese fries were also delicious, although the portion was a bit small. The only slight disappointment was the lack of chairs with backrests. It would have been even more enjoyable to sit back and enjoy the great food. Still, the positives outweigh the negatives, including the friendly staff, tasty burgers and welcoming ambience. Overall, my visit to Burgermeister was a successful experience. It's definitely worth a visit, especially if you're a burger lover. The combination of great taste and friendly service makes this restaurant a place to visit again.

Really great hamburgers! I got sweet potato fries and my husband and I both got the lemonades, which were fresh and delicious on a hot day. The bathrooms were also clean and nice. The only downside is it was very expensive (~€65 for what’s pictured), but I guess that’s just Switzerland.

Burgers are ok but too small for the price! The snack box for 2 people is underground for almost 18 chf… I would have preferred to get a pack of Doritos and 2 wings for 2 people is not enough…. Meat tastes frozen and fried, cheese sauce tastes disgusting... I wouldn't recommend it at all... way too overpriced for inferior food!

The homemade lemonade was unfortunately bubbly, but the rest was amazing and amazing service. The snack box was really really good and affordable!

I think the burgers are very good, the service is quick and always very friendly, unfortunately sometimes a bit too busy. I think it's a bit of a shame how the burgers are served, in a basket, a bit cramped. It's supposed to be common, but I find it unpleasant. What didn't work at all was the coleslaw with a plastic fork in a cardboard box; and then pretty inedible. But the normal program (cheeseburgers, fries and homemade lemonade) always works.

Very nice atmosphere and good food. Unfortunately the staff is not very friendly and a bit intrusive. When we sat down and played cards to pass the time until our order was taken, the waiter with brown hair and tattoos made a very unfriendly comment that if we were just going to play cards we should sit down before we got to the reserved seats “steal” and he knew exactly that we would play for 3 hours and occupy the seats. We think he could have said this a little more politely and asked us. In the end we just wanted to pass the time.

We came to the restaurant by chance without recommendations. There is plenty of seating inside and outside. You can scan the menu using a barcode or get it from the waiters. The place specializes in hamburgers. I ordered a classic hamburger and fries were very tasty and well made. The waiters take some time to arrive and forget what is asked of them. For example we asked for water and napkins twice. The coleslaw salad is much smaller than expected and in relation to the price. All in all a good experience but expensive.

I am a professional reviewer and normally I do not like to give bad reviews. I traveled different countries in the world and I’ve never seen such a rude waiter in my whole life. The guy who is taking order behind the bar and wearing glasses and has beard treated me very bad. Shame on Burgermeister that hired such a rude person. I would NEVER go to any branch of Burgermeister.

The guy behind the bar (with eyeglasses and beard) was very rude! It is not customer’s fault if he hates his job.

It's a shame that it closes at 10 p.m. in the summer. It's okay that the kitchen is only open until 10 p.m. but not all the rest. The price for truffle sauce is way too expensive.
