A legend! A perfect place to warm up, travel in time and luxury. Really really good ice cream and service. I could think of better espresso, but still it is the place I like the most in St. Moritz.

Best hot chocolate in town! If you really dig it, like I do, then order the pot! (on picture) You‘ll get 3 cups of delicious chocolaty liquid. The pastries are another a symphony of taste and variety💙! Tried the filled Berliner with powdered sugar on top! A classic, but man was it fresh! Unfortunately, as in many popular places, the quality of service left something to be desired. Before bringing the ordered pot of chocolate a wrong beverage was served. After we pointed out the error to the service person, she explained to us that we had certainly simply ordered wrong... well... We were quite a bit puzzled.😅 Alas, the later ordered milk tea then never made it to our table. However, the impeccable quality of the food and beverages made up for the rather blunt manner of the (possibly overworked) employees. And for what it’s worth - I would still recommend a visit anytime!😊

The quality of the food does not live up to the name of the place and the prices are sky high. In particular, after ordering two hot chocolates, the ones that arrived were too liquid and had nothing resembling chocolate in a cup...not even the flavor. They just seemed watered down. For two slices of cake, normal and two brownish broths 28 Swiss francs. Experience not to be repeated

You can read about a café with world fame on the website. Yes, many tourists still make a pilgrimage to Hanselmann. For what reason? Because the confectionery and its products are really delicious. However, that was the only positive thing. We ordered a mountain breakfast for CHF 22.- Included are two slices of cheese, 2 slices of ham, 3 wheels of salami, 2 butter, 2 jams, 1 honey, 1 croissant, 1 Weggli, 1 wholemeal roll and, on Sunday, plaited bread. Included in the price is 1 warm drink. On the plate we found: two slices of cheese i.e. industrial square cheese, 2 slices of ham i.e. industrial square ham, 3 wheels of poor quality salami, 2 pieces of butter were OK, 2 bowls of cheap industrial jams, the honey was completely missing, 1 Croissants, well, 1 way smaller and drier couldn't have been possible, as could the one wholemeal roll. No, you don't actually serve something like that in a world-famous café, unless you eat at Hanselmann. The ambience seems uninviting, old-fashioned, gloomy and there are nails on the window frames and paneling, a screw is sticking out of the ventilation and drill holes are visible. The paint is peeling off the window frames and sills. We would have been happy to see a friendly smile during service, but nothing of the sort came from the three ladies! Again, this is actually no longer enough for a café with world fame. But you just live on the glory of the past, on the delicious confectionery and forget about the “back room” including the food. Hanselmann is backwards, outdated and forgets to focus on quality. The café has probably not been invested in for a long time. It's a shame for the beautiful house and it's a shame that the paint is slowly and surely falling off. The owners don't seem to care about the bad recessions. Nowhere do they comment on this. They probably have no idea what feedback they receive from their customers - the main thing is that the money is still right, but for how long?

Hanselmann's is legendary and an institution. Although it is located in the middle of fashionable St. Moritz, all guests are treated equally friendly - whether they enter in a hiking jacket or a fur coat. The furnishings and furniture are a bit old, but that's probably part of the charm. I enjoyed a black tea in a pot and an apple strudel. The price/performance ratio for the tea was perfect, which unfortunately I couldn't say about the apple strudel. At CHF 15.50 it is massively overpriced and one side wasn't cooked properly... The waitresses are friendly and accommodating, but could be a little more attentive. So I'm complaining at a high level here. Overall, it was a pleasant visit and Hanselmann's is always worth a visit!

During my stay in St. Moritz I went to the Hanselmann twice. The first time I ordered a nut cake at the counter, the service staff was really terribly unfriendly. Nevertheless, I went to Hanselmann a second time, this time I went to Kaffe and ordered an espresso and a piece of cake. On the positive side: The service was friendly and attentive. The cake was good. On the negative side: The espresso was absolutely undrinkable and this at a price of over 5 CHF. Tasted like a stretched Americano in a cold espresso cup. A real no go! Pooh.

Perhaps the most famous of the places here in Saint Moritz, it represents an interesting point to get some chocolates as souvenirs or taste a piece of cake with cappuccino. If you stay in this area, in my opinion it's really worth it. The place is nice and has a nice room with tables. The costs are obviously Swiss, so you can't expect a cappuccino for 2 euros and a cake for 3 but overall, considering this aspect the prices are more than humane. Service perhaps needs to be improved a little in the welcome

Dissapointing experience… Both waitresses were mean and disrespectful with the bare minimum knowledge of the English language. We weren’t able to sit at the front tables, so when one of them was available we kindly asked them to sit there and if there is a problem we could move by ourselves the hot chocolates we were drinking. (We had already seen at least two couples doing that).. She didnt say a thing but got really frustrated. Then she discussed it with the other mean one(the mean duo lol) and she came back saying that it is not possible cause she need that front table… Of course, the first ones who came by that time sat there without any problem… When we mentioned that later, she said that we couldn’t move tables cause we had already stuff on ours… Of course, I understand the discomfort that a change if tables would cause and I wouldn’t ask her to do it, if I hadn’t seen other ones do it… The place is really nice and with reasonable prices… It’s a pitty to destroy it by having those mean, disrespectful and unkind stuff…. She even was mean to one customer who didn't like their dish (she almost threw up)…. It’s a pitty… They destroy the magic atmosphere of the place… Go there only to buy some sweets, they were nice. CHANGE STUFF ASAP

Here’s a tip if you’re fed up of looking for somewhere to eat in St. Moritz where it isn’t £50 for an omelette! Admittedly, it isn’t cheap - but it is cheaper than almost everywhere else. There is a semi-formal restaurant area at the back of the retail shop - proper menu and table service. Nice food, perfectly good - but still a bit expensive (everything in Switzerland is - apart from Victorinox “Swiss Army” knives, that seem reasonable value). However, and here’s the tip, the restaurant allow you to buy cakes, sandwiches, quiche, chocolates, etc. from the shop area and then take them in to the restaurant area to eat. You can get a reasonable lunch for under £30 ! No mean achievement in St. Moritz! In addition, the building is gorgeous and the cakes are spectacular!!!

As many reviewers have said the service from the old ladies there are really poor. When you serve so many out of town tourists it's normal for them to not know how you want the cafe to operate. They want patrons to pay for their cakes first at the front, then go take a seat and order drinks or other food. But they don't mention this anywhere in the store via signage. Instead, they get annoyed when you don't know what to do. Are we mindreaders? USE SIGNS if you want customers to know what to do rather than get annoyed or at least be nice about it.. Pastries are okay. I've come to realize that switzerland is filled with cafes with decent pastries. So skip this tourist trap for better service elsewhere that won't ruin your image of swiss hospitality and friendliness.
