The experience was a bit awkward because we weren't sure if we should order at the pastry counter or at our table. As it turned out, the answer was both - pastries at the counter and beverages at the table. That aside, the cappuccino was velvet smooth, and the apfelstrudel was a treat - even if it wasn't all-butter puff pastry (and I'm pretty sure it wasn't).

Excellent Saturday morning summit breakfast. My favorite: definitely the corn peaks.

I discovered this great café on my vacation. The cappuccino tastes very good and the vermicelle melts away. Above all, I thought it was great that the friendly owner took the time to answer a few questions about the Swiss specialties. I'm already looking forward to summer and the ice cream sundaes with the homemade ice cream flavors.

Today we went to Café Laimbacher for brunch à discretion and had a wonderful morning. Everything was freshly prepared for our table, the finest coffee and impeccable service! Thank you very much, we'll be happy to come back!

Friendly employees who offer you a taste. Well-kept, tidy shop. Exquisite small selection, handmade. Shopping done here, spoken to in a friendly manner and invited in despite 2 small dogs 👍

They have the best pear bread around. It stays moist for a long time if you wrap it well.

Nicely located and the food was excellent

This restaurant is a complete mess. We were served personally by the boss and he made it clear to us from the start that he didn't need it. The service he provided was very unfriendly and rude. In addition, everything was very overpriced. The raspberry tart must have been sitting there for a long time because it had a lot of liquid in the bottom. The apple strudel was very bland and the vanilla sauce tasted like eggs. My Coke was 5 months past its expiration date. I wonder how that can work.

Very invitingly designed like a boutique for high-quality confectionery, which is what we fell for here. 8.50 CHF for a jar of jam 200gr. are a hefty price that promises a lot, but unfortunately delivers little. The jam, which is a bit runny, has a lot of pieces of fruit, but it is quite sweet and the fruit doesn't have enough of its own flavor. The pastries were also exorbitantly expensive and not very good. The only thing we found really excellent was the Appenzeller Berewegge.

On Saturday we were cycling in the Appenzell region. After a great tour, we wanted to buy cake for the Easter holidays in Appenzell and came across the Confiserie Laimbacher. There were a few people outside the store with ice cream in their hands. We started talking and were recommended the small, fine shop below the confectionery to eat ice cream. We did that. Since we wanted to take some cake with us for the holidays, we sat on the stairs of the confectionery to finish eating the ice cream first. (Of course we didn't disturb anyone entering the store). After about 5 minutes the boss came out and asked whether we wanted to go to the toilet. I understand his displeasure because we bought the ice cream somewhere else. However, the way to sell people willing to buy is very questionable in times of Corona. Apparently the good gentleman is still doing too well. We went to another store where we received customer-friendly service and got delicious cakes for Easter. Due to customer friendliness, we will never enter the store and advise our friends not to. You should rethink your marketing!!!

Birewegge Biberli and other delicacies are offered to you to try by the friendly staff. We especially appreciated that the baked goods are less sweet than those made in large quantities! We recommend the varied meringues range

Drove by here on Saturday and bought a small braid and two pieces of cake. All three things were really very good, but there was a bitter aftertaste; the price of CHF 18.50 is a bit excessive. It could also be that you accidentally asked for too much. 🤷🏻‍♂️

We had the cherry cake, it was really tasty, especially the kirsch 🤗🤗. The cafe was excellent.

Highly recommended Black Forest Pie.
