Café de Peney in Satigny

Came on a Sunday evening, which perhaps explains the welcome and the icy atmosphere of the empty restaurant, when I reserved at 6:30 p.m., it was barely if they were willing to give me a table! We only order two dishes without starters, a steak from the Molard butcher shop, pig cheeks for my friend. The entrecote, the most expensive dish, is tiny, the very very very cooked cheeks give the impression of being a little dated or of being re-served from another customer, strange. The waiters constantly insist that you drink, scowl when you say no. At 8 p.m., the kitchen cleans up loudly, telling you that you have to leave. Not all that great. Not about to set foot there again.

Very pleasantly surprised, the food is very good and the staff are pleasant and competent.

Parking nearby, very warm welcome, good birthday atmosphere on site Saturday evening, the waiters are attentive, and above all: we had a great time (starters, main courses, desserts)!

Great disappointment, I gave it a try. Good food but not better than in the pizzeria across the street from my house. On the other hand, unlike the pizzeria which charges 54.- for a saddle and where you get a nice plate. Here it’s 61.- for half a portion. Made up of two small pieces of saddle for around 60-70g of meat, accompanied by a ridiculous dish of spätzli and around 10g of various vegetables. The waiter was in a very hurry even though the dishes took a long time to arrive and the service was not careful enough for the level of decoration of the plate and the prices. I have never felt ripped off at a restaurant before and have no intention of doing so again.

The food was very good with the only small complaint the delicious chasse "au point" was a bit less cooked than that.

First visit and the experience was incredible! Very elegant dishes, well served portions and lots and lots of flavor! The prices are slightly higher but for the quality presented I found it to be cheap. 100% recommendable.

Expensive for rather small portions

The prices are still a little too excessive compared to what is on the plate. In addition, the risotto that I had was way too salty, so it unfortunately spoiled the dish which was still 40 francs!

Magnificent terrace and friendly, helpful and pleasant staff, We chose the giant shrimp, the tartare, the tuna tataki as a main course and the chicken supreme, faultless. Everything was delicious, a beautiful presentation, not to mention being quite filling. The desserts were just as good, pavlova and tartlet, perfect! The setting is truly surprising, an oasis of tranquility, Absolutely recommended for a meal with friends, business or lovers. They have, I was lucky enough to be invited there, a very nice conference room, upstairs. A place conducive to reflection, with top-notch service!

I found cold tomato soup taste very standard and unfortunately somewhat similar to the well known brand from supermarket. Entrecote not standing out and lacking flavour. French fries were thin slightly overcooked and came with accidental fried pasta piece. Chocolate fondant looked pale brown from outside and tasted very average. I have had much better experience in this restaurant before. Lastly, the price for a splash of tomato soup mentioned above was something like 26 CHF. This time the experience was not worth the money.

Absolutely disappointing family summer getaway at the end of August for a family of 7 people. The cuisine was very, very average, even sloppy compared to the expensive and clearly overpriced prices. Too bad because we had good memories of this place a few years ago. The only possible excuse: a nearby table of around twenty people who seemed to have mobilized all the resources of the kitchen and staff that evening.

Excellent experience with my partner, for their birthday we treated ourselves to a complete menu with a beautiful range of wine to taste with each plate, impeccable service, they know how to listen to their customers and welcome warmly

the prices for a steak from a reputable "boucherie"in geneva was not met with the quality the meat was hard to eat. to seat peoples with dogs next to each other was not a good idea. will not get back there!!!

It's wonderful in the garden under the trees! Certain interior areas needed updating. Very fine food, lovingly prepared, nice and attentive staff. Even after 1 p.m. you can still arrive and eat without any problems. Flexibility in ordering (I was able to order a starter as a main course with a side dish). Mid to upper price range. I think reservations are recommended on weekends.

Establishment that I frequent often and the quality and service are always there. A "Bistronomic" restaurant, the seasonal menu is not overflowing with suggestions but that's good, so the dishes are mastered to perfection. Located in Geneva Champagne, it has 2 very beautiful terraces, one shaded at the back and another in front with a few tables for aperitifs. The service is impeccable, masterfully led by Sylvain, efficient and very friendly room manager. It is preferable to reserve, as it is known, appreciated and frequented. I recommend.

Disappointed despite the fact that we spent a wonderful Sunday in this restaurant with family! We order dandelion salads as a starter and during service we realize we have curly salad instead... regrettable that we were not informed when ordering but an oversight by the server can happen. The frog legs accompanied by wild garlic puree were excellent! The starters and other dishes too and the servers are friendly. On the other hand, we ordered a birthday cake for 10 people (including two children), a strawberry cake, which cost… 180.- CHF!!! Scandalous, more expensive than any renowned pastry chef in the area and more expensive than if we had all had a dessert à la carte (approx. 14.- CHF per dessert). The strawberry was good but it left us with a bitter taste when paying the bill…

Well-known restaurant were we as group met to enjoy our annual lunch repas gourmand. The restaurant is located in the campagne with parking close by in the neighbourhood. The restaurant served for us as vegetarians, a special meal that was very nicely presented and had good tastes, but the quantity served was rather insufficient to provide for lunch. See photo with spread around vegetables and a small stuffed tomato with a vegan patty. Partly this is due to serving a vegan meal instead of a vegetarian meal that also would include eggs and milk products like cheese that would have given us more substance. Upon our request, we were offered some extra boiled vegetables and mashed potatoes. The starter salad was of a good quantity and lightly seasoned with wasabe and tasted delicious. The meal was accompanied by a nicely pairing local red wine. It was a nice place to enjoy lunch, but the vegetarian offerings need some more finetuning to deserve a better rating that is given by the meat eaters visiting this restaurant.

The restaurant to know... Everything is good, the menu is complete and the service efficient. Always a pleasure and in summer, the terrace is superb!

We came to this restaurant on a weekday evening. The welcome and service is impeccable. The dishes are homemade, well served, and extremely good. Little extra if you want to eat good frog legs. The value for money is very reasonable! We will not hesitate to come back.

Hello, the restaurant is superb! very friendly and attentive servers. The food is well presented and very tasty to the point that I had my wedding dinner in the establishment. I would like to thank the entire team, in particular Sylvain and Yannick, for the smooth running of the evening.

Cold reception, very long wait (around 1h15) to have the main course. We arrived at 12:45 and received dessert at 2:40. However the food was very good. Avoid coming to eat during your lunch break if you are in a hurry.

Restaurant in Satigny. It is easily found. It is near the Rhône river. In the evening we hear the frogs. Good service. We were well received. We were with a child who was well received. ‘Strawberry diabolo only for broomsticks’ 👏. Food was good, service good. Very good wine list too. The menu card we took the suggestion which was very good. We had dinner on the terrace one summer evening. Well set and spacious table. Parking a little more laborious but we get there. There are places on the road.

Appreciated the kindness of the staff, all the little touches and of course the bistronomic cuisine. Lacks a little choice of desserts.

Very cold welcome and very unpleasant service. We really felt like we were disturbing. The meal was very good. Delicious appetizer, very good asparagus, perfect pig cheek. As for dessert, we didn't find the taste of banana in the compote. Too bad, we were used to better than that.

One if the best restaurant in Geneva country side. Owned by an excellent chef. Very fine food, great wines. Worth specially to go there for a lunch time. The service is one of the best. They have great desserts, homemade of course.

Stuffed guinea fowl served...cold. The scallops in pink and red radish tataki where in the end we have 3 unfortunate slices of radish chasing each other and we have more algae (?) certainly good lining the plate than nuts... Very disappointing. Even more so considering the price. It's a gastronomic thing, but we're very, very far from it in terms of execution. Which is a shame because the products used are clearly quality. Desserts good. We won't come back.

Tempting menu. But unfortunately the main meal was very disappointing The guinea fowl is very salty and the sirloin is full of nerve. Inedible. The waiter had nothing to do with our remark. Service not up to par. .I won't go back.

The food was delicious but the service wow!!! There was only one young man who was friendly, the others were really a disaster, very unpleasant, not a smile, the bare minimum... We put the plate on the table that's all, no for the person who prepared this delicious dish. I realized how important service really is... I ate very well but I didn't feel good at all in this restaurant. Fortunately I was in excellent company.

I'll explain why I gave 3 out of 5 stars. Let's start with the fact that the food is tasteless. There is no salt, no pepper, no seasoning of any kind. There were 6 of us at the table and everyone said the same thing. Some did not eat at all, others ate because they were still hungry. We waited a very long time for our food. A very long time. This is unacceptable in such a restaurant. The waiters are few as always, they don't have time to run all over the room, so any service is out of the question. You can't call them or they forget to bring what they asked for. And they admit it out loud. In a word, the place is not worth the money. Not the service, not the food. And as for the loudness , I'm speechless. It's quieter in any cafeteria. The waiters behind the bar were very loudly putting out the dishes. I think it was an absolute disrespect to the guests of the restaurant. But apparently they haven't even heard of hospitality here.

Very good restaurant with diverse and varied flavors. There is something for everyone, even vegetarians can find what they are looking for. They offer seasonal menus of very good quality and delicious taste. Impeccable service, very attentive and very friendly. Prices are affordable and correct for the quality of food and service. I will happily return on occasion. Thank you for this delicious moment.

Good café restaurant in the Geneva countryside. The hunting menu offered was very good, hare pâté en croute, wood pigeon and venison delicious! Pleasant chestnut dessert. Attentive and efficient service. A lovely place for a family lunch.

Peney's coffee is good, it's beautiful, it's hot, like a culinary adventure between friends. We feel good there and we come back.
