Good experience with good quality cuisine and a warm atmosphere

We go there to eat their steak fries. At noon, and it's very pleasant. Attentive and human service, lively atmosphere, clipboard available, no screen and we can talk to each other. And the steak is very good, as is the value for money. Thank you 🙏🏼🌸🕊

Really cosy place, good location. The staff is very friendly and flexible. They have a nice corner with kid's toys and books. Adults can use boardgames hidden in a cupboard. The food could be a bit better but some dishes are really tasty like the entrecote.

We came this week for a lunch. We chose to take the daily menu: -> A steak with fries and a starter (salad or soup) for 19.50.- Table for 4 people. We quickly noticed that the service was unfortunately overwhelmed.. Far too long a wait for a lunch break. Between the time of ordering the dish and the arrival of the dish on the table we waited 1 hour 20 minutes. And when the dish arrived, it was cold. Would it be wise to employ two more people in the kitchen? Or maybe a better organization?

This party room is extremely large. There is a lot of space and above all, the canton of Geneva uses it for naturalizations 🙏🙏🙏

A great discovery, this restaurant is one of the 44 historic cafés in Lausanne. Magnificent room, good atmosphere, good service and extraordinary fries! The salad and vegetable curry are excellent so there are also options other than their meat specialties.

A very warm place and team where you eat well. Children more than welcome. The big plus: the majority of “classic” dishes are offered in smaller portions for children.

We've been going there for years and have never been disappointed! The flavors are there, they regularly change the menu a little and they have some dishes from the four corners of the world. The servers are very professional and friendly. We have a weakness for their succulent fish dishes, which always come with delicious sauces, and for their desserts, such as panna cotta or chocolate desserts. The restaurant is suitable for everyone: a lively atmosphere but not too indoors, a library corner with armchairs, a book corner (and maybe games too, I don't know) for children and a pretty terrace outside. the exterior. Little pearl in Montchoisi!

Non-chalant welcome, endless wait while everyone saw us and no one came to pick us up. We had to ask for the cards and even then we were given a disrespectful response. Staff to see again… we left after 10 minutes

I recently dined at Café des Avenues with friends for dinner, and it was a delightful experience. The Entrecôte parisienne was perfectly cooked, and the moelleux au chocolat dessert was a sweet ending to the meal. The service was not only fast but also friendly, adding to the overall enjoyment. The restaurant's decor was inviting, clean, and tastefully done. In terms of value, the prices were reasonable for the quality of food and service. I would definitely recommend Café des Avenues for a satisfying dining experience.

A great classic in Lausanne! There is (almost) always room to find, the cuisine is straightforward and unfussy, the service efficient and the location very well placed. There are only the questionable paintings on the walls to criticize!

Nice location, fast, friendly service. We sat outside, the traffic was still a bit disruptive at 6 p.m., but it was quiet late in the evening. There is a large selection of different dishes. A bowl of popcorn as a starter, interesting and fun idea. The salmon tartare was very good and the fries were crispy and very appropriate. The portion was big enough. Toilet is available.

Edit: back this afternoon. Excellent steak. Coffee, coke, raw salad, Parisian steak 250grs + pepper sauce = 29.20frs (at lunchtime the steak is 19 instead of 32 in the evening) homemade fried. Tender steak and really good pepper sauce. If you're in the area. Stop and put your butt down, you won't regret it.

Such a great experience for a relaxed Sunday brunch in this old school cafe which features a reading /study area and a comfortable living room feel lounge section. The Entrecôte Parisienne appears to be a popular dish. Sunny terrace available for al fresco dining.

Among all the cafes in Lausanne, Café des Avenues is by far my favorite. I have been coming here for the last 4-5 years. The food here is fantastic, especially their entrecôte, but the service and people are fantastic as well. It is always a pleasure to come over here and be greeted by all the employees, who are always polite, smiling, and supportive - I am almost friends with all of them. As a role model, it shows how to manage a great coffee shop that feels like a home :)

Small and cosy. Food was great, apparently the menu does not change often so they are probably very good at preparing what is on the menu. Can find food for every taste. The starters can be also ordered as a full plate. Recommend to sit inside the restaurant as the restaurant is located at a busy junction.

Thanks to the all the people working here for being very kind, friendly and customer focussed and making our time to have a couple of drinks and dinner over here very pleasant. It was not easy finding a place that is open on Sunday in Lausanne but I can definitely recommend Cafe des Avenues. The burger was delicious as was the Gamba Salad.

Super restaurant suitable for children we were 4 adults and 4 children the service was top as well as the daily special offered the waitresses were kind we have never been so well served the children could play with what was there available. In any case we will come back if we are in Switzerland again 🇨🇭.

Really a charming place, as are the serving staff. A salmon tartare as a starter was very good. As a main course, the Parisian entrecôte, which was really a treat (even if I was afraid there would be too much fat, that wasn't the case). The chocolate fondant and the scoop of cream ice cream to die for. Please note, for people with reduced mobility, there are 3 steps at the entrance and no toilets upstairs. To get to the toilets, you have to go down around fifteen steps (and back up again 😊)

This place is like no other. There is something special in the decoration (sofa, books...) which makes you feel at home. Food is simple, yet excellent, with importance to organic and "home made". Service is the perfect balance between kindness, care and politeness.

Extremely well eaten (starter tartare requested spicy and arrived perfectly seasoned) followed by the Parisienne (only piece of red meat on the menu... very good choice) of 250grs requested blue and received... blue! Returned this summer after a 2-3 year break. Unfortunately, the card remains the same, albeit with less quality. The fish is really overcooked, the prawn salad is bland and the entrecote and fries are not very tasty. The dishes didn't seem very fresh considering the discomfort in our stomachs that followed. Didn't understand this very disappointing drop in quality. Too bad because we really liked their dishes
