Café Plaza in Cham

We went to Café Plaza for breakfast for the first time today after hearing a lot about the location. We were there with our child and were greeted very friendly. The lady at the counter gave us a menu card at the beginning and explained the ordering process (in the end you choose something and then order (again) at the counter). The lady was also very attentive and told us that the café also had a children's area, which we of course chose. In my opinion, this is much darker than the other areas of the café. We ordered two buns (avocado & fried egg and fried egg & ham) and a chocolate crepe. All three dishes were very good for our taste, especially the bun with ham, because it was “naturally salty” (and not too much of it). To drink there was a generous latte macchiato, a small orange juice and a Café Americano. In our opinion, the latter could have been larger (in terms of cup size). In summary, we were very impressed with Café Plaza and will definitely be here again in the future - with or without children, as both scenarios are catered for.

Just a really nice place to go for lunch or a coffee. Lovely hosts, engaging, chatty. The food is light, fresh, tasty, leaning towards vegetarian mostly, and they have great coffee. Obviously very popular judging on the crowd that gathers here.

A slightly better cafe in Cham, but be careful - the cake slices are cut as you please. For the very steep price I got a tiny piece of cake. Portioning in advance would be fairer to customers.

The café appears inviting on the outside, but the experience inside leaves a lot to be desired. Both the children's corner and the toilets are unsightly and in urgent need of cleaning. The quality of the food is average. Overall, there is a clear need for improvement to ensure a pleasant and welcoming café experience. The staff has loud private conversations and thereby neglects the operation, even though there was nothing going on (holiday season). Additionally, I would recommend adjusting the music in the cafe. While the staff enjoys listening to Nicki Minaj or Usher loudly, this type of music may not fit the atmosphere of a cafe. The children's corner urgently needs cleaning, appreciation and a welcoming and tidy atmosphere. Due to the lack of cleanliness in the children's area, I would not recommend the cafe for families with children.

Great place especially with small children...go there regularly and have a coffee

Actually a really brilliant concept and cafe. I thought I had finally found my daily place to be. However, today I was yelled at a little because my child was crying loudly in the children's corner. I understand that children can be really annoying sometimes. However, I deliberately searched for a child-friendly café on Google. I was already at my limit today (moms, you know what I mean) and already had tears in my eyes because my son was very strenuous today. The fact that I was subsequently reprimanded in such an obvious moment (crying outside the cafe to tell my son to be quiet) left me speechless. I even organized someone to pick up my son so that we wouldn't disturb him anymore. But there was neither a thank you nor a friendly smile when we left the café. I think it's a real shame. They have zero understanding let alone empathy. I feel very exposed by the three girls behind the counter. Long story short: Don't go there with kids!! You are not welcome!

There is a corner for kids, however it’s full of dirty, broken (even pointy) toys. I don’t think I ever saw such a place. Edit after the response from the restaurant: Taking care of the kids corner does take time. I would recommend having less toys, so that it's managable organizing the place. Some toys could be replaced, even by finding other ones in Brocki (in Zug there are plenty of great options). Nobody expects that the kids corner will be in the perfect order all the time, we all know how it is. In case there is no possibility to maintain it, I understand the decision about closing.

Pleasant location and parking places available at site. Best coffee I had so far. Last time I was there, I didn't see in the menu the bircher müsli they used to serve... It was delicious. There's no service at the table, you need to order and pay at the bar and they bring it to the table when ready.

Nice coffee and desserts, but they gonna make a mistake in your order anyway. It’s not the first time when I’m asking for coffee with planted milk and they brought me a coffee with cow milk instead… Half of the year passed and it’s still the same. I ordered coffee with oat to milk and they gave me the wrong one.

So my new rule is to not give a critical analysis until I have been to the venue three times or more, so that I can get an average impression. So this place is really cute, cozy and has a wonderful outside area for when it is warm enough. I would say there is enough for around 30 to 40 people outside which is really nice. The food: The best thing is the toast and crepes. You can have a choice from the menu, or if you want to make a change to anything they are so flexible you can add or take away items such as eggs, bacon, spinach etc. The portions are very generous and the cook knows exactly what he/she is doing. Very nice bread topped with fried egg and ham is a recommendation, also spinach and goats cheese is super tasty. The baked goods and pastries are right near the door, which I challenge anyone to walk past without taking something (amazing Danish whirls, croissants, brownies and cookies) The Coffee: Very well pulled shots in the true Swiss Café Crème style. The Staff: Very fun, friendly and efficient. You know when a place is good when the staff enjoy being there and are always happy. For me this is a big impression. The Drinks: I had one of the best Mojito I have ever had at Plaza and they also have great wines and beers to offer. For me it is one of the best places in Cham for lunch in the weekdays, and a great place for drinks on the weekend. I can highly recommend this place, for anyone. Families, groups of younger folk and for the elder people too. Super cute place!

Actually a solid 4.5, unfortunately you can only give full stars on Google. The food is super delicious and freshly prepared. The service is super friendly and accommodating, sometimes a bit overwhelmed when there are a lot of guests. Children's corner with toys that are familiar from the past. My nieces are always very happy.

Super nice restaurant with caring staff, good coffee and smoothies. We went to grab a bite there which is really difficult if you need to eat gluten-free - the salad is pretty much your only option.

Experience gastronomy at its best. Compared to this café, the other Zug cafés (von Rotz, Zumbach, etc.) are extremely boring, uniformity. And the service is also excellent.

Before Corona, the Plaza was a really great place for a Sunday brunch. Now you have to spend over 20 minutes. Wait for four warm drinks and the order doesn't come in full. It's a shame because the food/cakes would be super delicious.

Very nice cafe with special furnishings and good snacks for lunch. Crepe with salmon is recommended. Overall, it's rather too expensive for the quality/quantity.

This places has many pros and cons, so I will make a list: + Very cheap for what you get + Drinks are awesome and big portions + Cozy + Very friendly staff, quick service - no vegetables on breakfast choice (would gladly pay more if it came with some tomatoes, paprike, cucumber,...) - food is very sweet and sugary. Missing a bit of balance (perhaps it was intended this way) (?) it is very "old"... Going alone at the age of 30 made me feel quite misplaced. Customers either seem to be elderly people or families, although I did not see kids (probably because it was Monday 10 a.m.?) (?) also the interior reminds me much more of my grandma's place Overall, I would say that it is very specific! It is lovely and certainly the staff put their heart into it, it just does not match anybody's needs. It did not suite me, but if you are looking for something like this specifically, give it a try!

The Café Plaza in Cham is a tip for everyone who likes brunch! It is beautifully decorated and the brunch is great! You have to make a reservation so that you have a place. It also has a large play area for children. So it really is that families are welcome here!

The service is very good the coffee is delicious. ideal cafeteria to go with children. The waiters are very patient and friendly. The desserts are delicious. I have eaten brownie and cheesecake. croissant also very good next time i go ti will take picture of the food :-)

Here, shady “gold purchasing events” are organized with dubious companies. The neighborhood is repeatedly littered with advertising despite the “No Advertising” sticker. When contacted, no insight or understanding whatsoever. You don't feel responsible for it!

Used to go with friends and kids for a coffee and always thought it was good: cozy environment, friendly staff and really good cakes and croissants... Then I booked it on a Sunday for a coffee and croissant for 10 people before the Catholic Mass and it was great! Staff always kind with everyone and in any language ;)
