Cafeteria ZAG in Winterthur

At first we were in the wrong lift, the directions were rather poor. But the elevator was very nice, decorated with wallpaper. Anyway, off to the next building, we were in the right place. The reception left something to be desired, the owner greeted us barefoot and in sports shorts. You would like a little more class. But the location is beautiful, fantastic view of the Winterthur church, you can almost say Winti skyline. The first two calls for a drink were cheekily ignored; it was only on the third attempt that we were led to the beer and wine cabinet and were allowed to sample the exquisite collection. The owner has a flair for good beer and beautiful designer lamps. We had to bring our own chips. All in all, it's worth a visit, just because of the owner and because of the superb view from the roof terrace.

Bad, unfriendly service and ugly food that you pay too much for.

Never again! Here’s why: The sushi itself was third rate, I’m used to much better. The worst thing was canned tuna, in a roll, which you could clearly taste. Then you will find so much vegan “sushi” on offer that you have to be careful not to accidentally get any of it. Then the turn off with a QR code, instead of a real menu, which automatically creates an uncomfortable station atmosphere. I hate it. Pay only cashless. Brave new world sends greetings! Of course, as a parent you are also portrayed as an idiot if your adult daughter orders an Aperol Spritz, which is refused to her (in the presence of her parents!) because she did not have any ID with her. This has never happened to her or to us anywhere, 2020 has probably turned some people into control freaks, not to mention the oh-so-hygienic QR codes and refusal to cash. We will never go there again!

Unbeatable patisserie. Miles superior to any other chain you see anywhere else!
