Caffè & Bar Belpaese in Zürich

I wouldn't recommend paying employees black and ripping them off!

An acquaintance was not offered a contract after working for two months. After almost 2 months of work, a fraction of the agreed wage was paid out. This is not only a violation of Swiss labor law but also an exploitation of a cheap worker. The affected person should be compensated immediately.

Unfortunately, I haven't heard anything good: without taking labor law standards into account, a friend was neither issued an employment contract nor paid wages as agreed.

Was there and felt zero welcome. I also noticed that they exploit workers. Complete zero number. Absolute disaster!

Very bad place, they exploit their helpless employees, don’t give them contracts and when they ask for one get fired with no money. The management should be ashamed and people should not support this restaurant.

Stopped by on a rainy day in Zurich. Perfect cafe for coffee and a sweet. Simone was our server very nice lady.

1 warm chocolate 6.50 CHF with only 1dl milk and the rest was foam. Never again

Very pleasant atmosphere, friendly and courteous staff and a great location.

Never again: Staff helplessly overwhelmed and the waitress is still friendly while the gentleman behind the counter reacts, to put it kindly, at least extremely irritated. However, during our visit the café was only about half full. After waiting over 40 minutes for drinks and cake, we - like several guests before - left the café with a bad feeling without having drunk or eaten. Wasted life and not recommended. There are certainly tons of better cafés in the immediate area.

I had a great experience at Caffè & Bar Belpaese. The staff were very friendly. The atmosphere was very peaceful and relaxed. The food was very good and tasty. The café was very clean and nice.

The place is named Caffè and Bar but they don’t serve coffee and the employee thinks they can scold you.

Waited 20 minutes. Afterwards the waitress came and said she couldn't bring anything more because they were closing in half an hour.

It was busy but the service took over 30 minutes for coffee and tea

Unfortunately not recommended at all. We ordered various drinks and two small dishes, one of which was this dreary, cold ham and cheese toast. While clearing away the toast that had been left lying around, we honestly mentioned that unfortunately both dishes weren't really that good. It can happen, but then I expect a concession in the form of a drink on the house or at least the price. We paid full price and will definitely not be coming back.

Nice cozy place, friendly staff

So I find 8 CHF for a small sip of mulled wine to be completely excessive, even for Zurich standards!

We only have the name of "Belpaese", otherwise little. Slow service, limited variety of desserts and cakes (among other things, the desserts were placed on two trays without any covering), a dull atmosphere. Prices not so cheap (2 cappuccinos + 2 glasses of milk 25.-). There was no paper in the toilet to dry your hands. Not a recommended place if you want to enjoy truly Italian-tasting products as an Italian. A disappointment 👎

Delicious coffee and good service

Delicious ice creams but ice cream size has been reduced by 50%! There are other good gelateria in town…

Very nice place with delicious ice cream and interesting views of the Fraumünster church. Impeccable and very attentive service from the waitress Angela, who even helped me figure out why a well-known close-by restaurant was not open on the day.

Nice place, as is unfortunately often the case, too little attention is paid to milk quality. Please no UHT in coffee drinks. A pity.

Good coffee in solid cups. Particularly friendly service. He also rearranges tables for groups, takes souvenir photos for champegner-drinking couples, and fulfills special requests — all with a smile.

A table under the sunshine. I had a prosecco bottle which came with nibbles. Friendly and professional service. I will come back.

This was a very pleasant stop to grab some drinks and a dessert while walking around old town Zurich. The staff speak many languages, and you'll have no problem ordering if you don't speak German. They were very friendly and accommodating.

Great stop for a drink on a Sunday and a great place for people watching. They even provide blankets if the weather is a bit fresh sitting outside. Friendly waitress served our drinks and she engaged with us as well which was nice...…

You know that scene kn the movies where someone goes through a personal drama and the story takes them to a rainy city, in the coffee shop in the pedestrian area, with rain slowly dripping, but the scene is so magical. The people passing, you sitting outside the under the umbrella, rain gives its magical smell to it… Service was “so so”, pricing as expected (not too high) and coffee was perfect 😁

I was hoping for a better Italian quality. Cappuccino seemed from those machine where you can choose the different beverages. I was offered no selection of gipfeli/pasticceria although written on the menu. Given the good reviews I will give it another chance maybe I will be more lucky on another day.
