Caffetteria am Limmatplatz in Zürich

I was very happy about the coffee and the service was also very nice to me. If you're sitting outside, telephone appointments aren't very feasible because of the road, but I think you've gotten what you can out of the location.

For years they have had the same quality, friendliness and ambience... here they really make an effort for the sake of the guests

This is one of my favorite cafes, a small island of Italian happiness in the German part of Switzerland.

I ate lasagne here before the concert at X-tra. Tastes good, but unfortunately only lukewarm inside. For dessert I treated myself to a scoop of profiterole, which I wasn't charged for because I said the lasagna wasn't hot inside. I thought it was great!!! The atmosphere in the restaurant is very cozy and like an oasis of peace on Limmatplatz. The service was polite and friendly. The profiterole was a bit lost on the bare plate, but tasty. Can't say anything bad and definitely a recommendation for Zurich. Price wise it was ok.

An early morning Cappuccino and Gipfelli! A grey, cold Winters morning has enough mood to make you want to crawl back under the covers, doesn't it. However, for some the prospect of sitting in an old style Cafe having a Coffee just before dealing with the work of the day is a perfect reason to get up. Caffeteria am Limmatplatz is such a place. There is a slight time warp feeling as I step inside, the furniture has presence. The place is quiet. I sit by two large windows, poised to nonchalantly watch life's theater.....

Barbara Cardinaletti perfectly and reliably prepared a wonderful and varied aperitif for our father's funeral. She recommended the best red and white wine, which was very well received by all guests. We could completely rely on Barbara. She did an excellent job with all the catering for the funeral event. We would be happy to come back to the Caffetteria am Limmatplatz Ristorante Cardinaletti Barbara & Co for another occasion and can give our best recommendation. Barbara, be la migliore!

On Limmatplatz, it is the only cafe where you can have a good coffee and it is quickly served, the maids are friendly and good people, they are not arrogant at all. The place is well located and has tables outside for those who smoke, because sometimes even though it is cold, some prefer to have coffee outside because of the tobacco.

The place is well maintained, toilets are clean and the employees left me with a friendly and professional impression. The prices are a bit too expensive for me personally, that's why I give it 3 stars.

Friendly staff; ideal for starting the day in peace

This is my home restaurant and I like it here. I still have to address two strange things because I've been dissatisfied with it for years and nothing changes despite my constructive criticism. 1. Salad dressing: there is no vinegar. I mean regular wine vinegar. There is industrial “French dressing” and industrial “Italian dressing”. Both are an insult to the palate (keyword sugar). When I asked, I found out that the only thing available in the kitchen is balsamic vinegar, which is basically colored grape must. Not real vinegar. My dear brothers and sisters, why??? 2. Pasta: Pasta is predominantly served as food. Well, this is an "Italian" restaurant. But strangely enough, the pasta usually turns out to be penne. We know this from “pasta to go” and such fast food. I have my justifiable dislike for it and then asked if the chef could cook any other type of pasta. (I stopped asking about spaghetti a long time ago; that seems to be an impossibility). But most of the time it means: no. My dear brothers and sisters, why??? Conclusion: Restaurant as a cafe is great, food concept (or chef?) flop.

Maybe they were unlucky with the service. Very unfriendly and the coffee was nothing special. The only plus point was that they offer soy milk.

Very friendly service and authentic Italian coffee as well as various cakes etc. Lots of regular customers, but as a new guest you will also receive very friendly service. Not particularly suitable for romantic togetherness, but very suitable for “breathing” alone or short meetings.

Very good Italian lunch menu as well as very friendly and entertaining service! Also ideal for a coffee in the fresh air.

Can't share the previous experience. I was there recently to warm up and had fun conversations with the friendly waitress.

Service is catastrophic or you are not served! After 10 minutes without a drink, leave the restaurant. The staff prefers to chat together rather than serve the guests.
