Cake and Coffee in Genève

My HQ at lunchtime is quiet, good and inexpensive.

I came twice, the first was so good that I came back, to be served by the same waitress... unfortunately the second time, she served me the wrong coffee and extremely hot.

I discovered Cakes&Coffee by chance, one rainy morning last december. My meeting had been cancelled, but I only realized it once I got off at the metro stop of Pont d’Arve. Beeing just in front of the metro stop, the cosy coffee shop , immediately cought my attention. Once I saw the colorful display of cakes and desserts I decide I had to try some of those delicious pastries. At Cakes&Coffee, I ordered a « snicker-like» éclair, which was so rich in chocolate and caramel that I couldn’t finished it. I also had a cappuccino to wash all the sugar down, but beside the thick foam, the coffe itself tasted burnt. It’s a pity because they grind their coffee on the spot and I was a little disappointed. The service was a bit slow, although the café wasn’t crowded.

Food is decent - nothing great.

I come to your house very, very often but today I am not satisfied with the service. I ordered a basic apple pie portion and received pear pie with chocolate?? They wanted to make me pay for what I hadn't ordered??? Not sure I will return to your place!

Quaint little shop with a kind worker. I recently moved to the area so I think it will be a nice little treat each weekend.
