Catrina Experience in Disentis/Mustér

The email contact was friendly and informative. Requested pictures have been sent. There are wheelchair parking spaces in the underground car park at every entrance to the building. Unfortunately, the doors to the accommodation are very difficult to open. There is quite a lot of space with a hand wheelchair. Unfortunately you can't get onto the balcony with a wheelchair because there is a high edge (I've already requested this at reception). Unfortunately for wheelchair users, a backrest on the toilet and a towel holder are completely missing. Unfortunately, you can't shower alone because the mixer tap is right behind you. You can eat well in the hotel restaurant. Unfortunately, reservations via the app don't work at all, so you always have to call. You can easily get under the tables with a hand wheelchair. It's not far to the cable car station opposite, but it's extremely steep. A strong person or a SwissTrac is recommended to push here. Unfortunately, I can't say how good progress is in winter, but I imagine it would be very difficult.

We stayed here in the hostel with 4 school classes. For us it was one of the most luxurious camps ever. The teenagers felt very comfortable, as did the camp management. It was really really great! We were spoiled with delicious dinner and breakfast, the staff at reception fulfilled our every wish and were always understanding and courteous.

Our family and friends have spent the last few days in the penthouse and are overwhelmed. The rooms are nice and large and everything is very clean. We also like the whole resort, such as the wellness and swimming area, game rooms, co-op nearby... Everything is well organized and if you want something you will be helped very easily and kindly. The staff is very helpful and friendly :) Despite the bad weather, we had a lovely holiday. The kids and we parents love coming back!

The hostel is highly recommended. The staff is courteous, the rooms are beautiful and modern. The hostel was the perfect accommodation for a short stay in Disentis.

Fine pizza from the world champion

Very nice staff, great rooms but pretty weak WiFi and questionable magazines (Weltwoche) from the reception.

Our stay at this hotel was overall very pleasant, with some notable positives and negatives. Let's start with the positive: the breakfast. Mornings started here with a smile thanks to the extensive and tasty breakfast buffet. There was a wide choice of delicious options ranging from fresh fruit and hot dishes to different types of bread and pastries. It was a really great way to start the day and gave us the energy we needed to explore the area. Unfortunately, there was one small negative that somewhat affected our overall experience: the location of the spa. It turned out that we had to leave the hotel and cross the street to get to the spa. This was not ideal, especially on days when the weather did not cooperate. It would have been nice if the spa was accessible directly from the hotel, but unfortunately this was not the case. The showers in the room were also not of a constant temperature, which was very unpleasant. Overall, our stay here was pleasant, especially because of the delicious breakfast, but the spa location was a small minus that could be improved for future guests.

Very friendly staff that had a solution to every problem. The resort is very child-friendly and offers its own spacious children's club. There are also various children's playgrounds with barbecue areas in the area. Price performance is excellent. We always enjoy coming to Disentis.

Visited for the first time in 2020 and again this year, not only because of Alps, but largely also because of Catrina expriance! Highly recommended!

Excellent location and brand new structure

Great hotel! They know what's important. Very good value for money.

We stayed in a holiday apartment for 3 nights for just under 830 CHF. Nice facility with two bedrooms. Unfortunately one bedroom had no window and therefore no opportunity for fresh air. I travel a lot to hotels and holiday apartments. Even though it's not a must, I was surprised that there wasn't even soap in the bathroom to wash my hands. Of course we were able to buy everything we needed at the nearby COOP. You don't get a second trash bag for free, you pay an extra 2 CHF. The sauna area is nice, but unfortunately the implementation was a disaster. It is ALLOWED for guests to enter the sauna wearing swimwear. It is correspondingly overcrowded there. From a hygienic point of view, this is also unreasonable. The majority of visitors go to the sauna wearing clothes. Towels are often out of stock and only 6 berths are available in the relaxation room. The remaining visitors sit in the aisle or stand against the wall. The floor of the relaxation room is flooded with water. This runs there from the showers. Many sauna visitors do not feel comfortable surrounded by non-naked guests and employees AND other guests come into the sauna area wearing street shoes. This is an absolute no-go. During our stay, several guests came in with down jackets and street shoes to see what it looked like or to get towels from us. Terrible. While we are naked and barefoot. Pizza in the take away is delicious at normal prices. Anything else is an imposition. We have now ordered there twice. Unfortunately we weren't so lucky on the second evening. Meal for two people Picatta Milanese for 38 CHF take away unfortunately with far too large, hard pieces of carrots and the other rather raw vegetables. Without seasoning and visually a very special composition. The small pieces of veal were already cut up - whs to check whether it was cooked. Red curry also with much too large pieces of vegetables and chicken and hard, large carrot pieces. Thai also expired in the take away package. Not justified in terms of price. 38 CHF for the Picatta is not appropriate. It's not tasty to look at either, but that's subjective and a matter of taste.

Absolutely brilliant accommodation for courses or seminars. The rooms are simple, modern and yet airy and warm with the high ceilings and wood. The breakfast buffet is above average and I wouldn't have expected it, there were even various alternatives to milk. The proximity to the gondola lift is of course unbeatable, right across the street, what more could you want. A number of people had also locked themselves out of the rooms and the staff were always very friendly and immediately offered support. I would prefer to only attend any courses at Catrina, a big thank you to all the hosts for the amazing week week 2 :)

Wonderfull! Was a great pleasure to stay with a family in the CATRINA apartment. Apartment are well structured, fully furnished and have a great atmosphere. Resort is located next to the cable car, there is a large COOP store, and playground for children near by. Personal was very nice and helpful. One negative point was that there were few families with children (6-10 years old) entering Sauna area (not allowed for children under 14 years). Those children were making running around, playing with water, etc., up to 8 pm. A bit distractive. Maybe there is a need to control it a bit better.

Catrina Resort consists of apartments/lodge and the Hotel Catrina (formerly Parkhotel Baur). Rooms in the hotel have been renovated, except the bathrooms still have the 80s charm but are clean. Service in the hotel, reception: friendly/ service: bar/ à la carte restaurant and terrace: employees totally overwhelmed, tables are not cleared, waiter always has to be looked for, if the guest wants to pay, guests first go shopping in the Coop until the waiter came, boss The service probably doesn't exist. Service half board: Breakfast as far as everything is OK. also the food. Dinner on Tuesday July 21st, 2021 in the hotel, a unique disaster that I have never seen before. Service totally overwhelmed. Menu: Cassava soup (parcel soup), pork slices with rice and zucchini vegetables (vegetables were inedible, skin was as hard as tree bark, meat and rice could be eaten prepared like in the canteen), Coupe Catrina (a unique dessert creation by the chefs who didn't deserve it calling yourself chefs is shame on you, I don't even want to go into it). Complaints were made to the manager on the same evening and were not really clear, with excuses that there were not enough staff and the food was always praised. The next evening we canceled half board, according to other guests this evening was also a disaster. A plus point was that after asking the manager of the house, I was given 50% of the price for half board. Dear guests, don't take half board, you'll just be ripped off, it's a shame.

We had an apartment for four people for a week in high season at a really fair price (by Swiss standards). For this price you also get a lot on offer, for example the wellness area is gigantic. The rooms are nicely designed, very clean and the service leaves nothing to be desired. We were promptly helped with all questions and concerns. The complex itself is extremely family-friendly and there is a lot for the kids to discover. With the guest card you can also use the mountain railways free of charge. Only the weather was bad, but others are responsible for that. You can really recommend this hotel unconditionally! Last - but not least - the pizza is world class!

The room was nice, but a little too cold. The double bed consisted of two mattresses that were constantly pushed apart because the bed frame had no edge. Quite difficult. The bathroom, especially the shower tray, leaves a lot to be desired. The concept with hotel, lodge, holiday apartments, etc. is very bad in my opinion. You constantly have to leave the hotel to eat or go to the wellness center. The wellness area is far too small and doesn't invite you to relax. I also think it's a shame that there is no pool inside. The Pizzeria Stiva Ursus is a complete disaster. The lodge, on the other hand, was very good (clearly the highlight of the stay). The staff throughout the entire hotel are extremely unfriendly and do not give the impression of being competent (receptionist, service staff, cleaning staff...) Overall, the hotel doesn't seem comfortable, very disorganized and unfriendly. Definitely the first and last visit for us!

Confortable and clean rooms. We have been 3 nights in the hotel and we enjoyed the breakfast with bio tea, freshly bread and nice cheese. The check in was perfect and check out was catastrophic. We tried the restaurant for the 1st night but we have disappointed the service is not professional and bad. the quality food is bad for dinner, dessert have no taste and you can recognise easily the frozen products. We recommend the rooms with breakfast but not the restaurant.

hard to find. You can hardly find a bicycle room either. The rooms are as nice as in a hotel. There is also a common room with a table football box and a ping pong table

My colleague and I were able to spend a night at the Hotel Catrina during our bike trip through Switzerland. Service, rooms, wellness, everything was perfect. But what deserves special mention is the fine pure spelled bread at the breakfast buffet. Really a delicacy!

Were guests at the hostel at the beginning of July 2020. Nice new hotel with good facilities and friendly staff. The breakfast was very good and the pizza in the evening from Pizza Weltmeister is simply amazing.

The food was very tasty and was eaten quickly. 😂Just a little joke from my side. I found the restaurant recommended. The only but really small point of criticism is the service. Because there was only one person serving. Another nice Buna Sera uh now I've done it again, one more joke

Fantastic pizza and fantastic dervice

You have to mention the pizzeria in the house, really good and imaginative creations! Best ingredients, friendly service, even when all tables are full. Reservations recommended in the evening! inexpensive.

I recommend choosing one of the numerous pizzas on the menu........one better than the other. However, all World "champions"!

We "only" ate a pizza. I say "only" because it is certainly among the best we have ever eaten.

Room & overnight price ok. Everything costs extra. Swimming pool, breakfast at exorbitant prices. Saturday evening at 7 p.m. after skiing there was only cold water in the shower!?! And to top it off, the bill for the room prices was deducted from the account twice...

The new facility with the hostel is really nice. Good price/performance ratio. I think it's a shame that some of the staff barely understand German. Especially at the reception. The lady there is friendly, but she has no local knowledge and was difficult to provide information.

World class pizza!! What I really like is that you get a piece of paper on which you can tick off all the ingredients for your own dream pizza. The same with the dessert, namely the Coup (ice cream varieties, sorbets, toppings, additional items such as vermicelles, sauces, and spirits. Super delicious! I can only recommend it.

Friendly, clean and safe cots. Morning buffet was varied and good/fresh.

Well maintained, clean and very comfortable beds. Friendly employees. The positive thing is that the rooms also have slab floors - so no carpet! There's a bit of "construction work" going on in the area at the moment. But it will probably change again.

A perfect hotel for active holidays or simply to relax from everyday life. The owner and her friendly team personally look after the guests. Small, friendly wellness area and a great range of medical massages on site, as well as good food (half board recommended), beautiful, large rooms with a view... What more could you want, gladly again!!

Rooms modern, food good. Recently renovated, the rooms are very modern and clean. The food tastes quite good, although not as gourmet as the chef tries to present it. Wellness and swimming pool are available, but you have to walk about 10m outside, which is not exactly well thought out at -10°C.

Nicely renovated rooms! The restaurants are back to a very good quality level. Highly recommend the pizzas. I will return. Thank you for the nice stay.

Stayed at the end of June 2015. Solo traveler. The house has been largely renovated. Very clean. Comfortable facilities and spacious rooms with balconies. Very good cuisine. Extremely friendly house staff. WiFi is currently only available in the hotel lobby. The price-performance ratio is definitely right. Parking lots available. Gladly again.
