Fairly average quality-price ratio. The rosti was very average, the soup better. We are in Switzerland, but a bottle of water (they didn't ask us if we wanted it from the tap) 10CHF

The food was really good, the wine went well with the meal, the service was very friendly, the dog was welcome, the prices were very fair. We found the small but fine wine list to be perfectly coordinated. In other words, we had a really good time and will definitely come here again.

We had the fondue, with rösti and green salad. One of the tastiest fondues that I have had.

All the conditions are there to have a great time. The staff is warm, caring and attentive. The fondue is also excellent. I highly recommend it if you are passing through Montreux.

4 of us came to this restaurant, for, we ordered raclettes, we were disappointed, the portions were small, and above all served without cold meats or at least, it is extra, the cheese comes from the local supermarket while we were expecting a quarter of a wheel, the potatoes are very small and the prices prohibitive even if we are in Switzerland, I will not go back there

We were passing through for work. The fondue was very good, however there was not enough quantity in the fondue pot for 3 people. It is marked 200g portion per person and we doubt that this was respected.

A decent experience. We were passing through Montreux to taste and test the Savoyard fondue. We were surprised by this unusual service 😉. However, a little disappointed that the 25 CHF fondue (I think) doesn't come with freshly cut potatoes, crispy pickles, tasty cold cuts, and other traditional accompaniments. Despite this, I still highly recommend the experience for the friendly and pleasant setting. The traditional aspect of the decoration, with its red and white checkered tablecloths and old hanging kitchen utensils, creates a warm and authentic atmosphere which invites relaxation and conviviality.

We recently had dinner at this lovely restaurant. We decided to taste the Valais meat fondue (glareyarde) and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meat, tender and tasty. However, as meat lovers, we would have preferred it cooked differently than in broth, but that depends on individual preference. Our only disappointment was the lack of fondue bourguignonne on the menu, which would have been a great option for meat lovers. We suggest that it be offered in the coffee room near the bar, so as not to disturb customers who do not wish to taste it. Despite this, we had a pleasant time and we recommend this place for its friendly atmosphere and quality cuisine!

The atmosphere was amazing. I like the vibes, and it's homey. The food was good; had vegetable soup, fish for main course, and apple tart for dessert. The main star is the dessert. Fish was weird, and it has a bland taste, in my opinion. I like the decorations, though. Very nice touch.

Superb experience at the cellar of the winegrowers, the restaurant was full but the staff welcomed us warmly and took care of us as if we were the only ones there. We ate very well, the truffle fondue is very well balanced for lovers, the setting is really nice and the team is very kind and attentive. It's been a long time for me since I had such a pleasant restaurant experience, delighted to see that there are still real people who like to please, I highly recommend this place!

Can recommend the fondue. The service was a bit slow, we were there with a group and had to wait a long time. Otherwise, the price/performance ratio is right for Monterey

After waiting for 1 hour! we were served entrecote parisienne which was a high loin steak and very thinly sliced! I mean something different by entrecote. The fries weren't crispy either! There were 26 of us, none of whom were satisfied The kitchen is overwhelmed.

This excellent small restaurant is in old town Montreux. We arrived after our visit to the Chillon Castle in the middle of the afternoon and were famished. Luckily for us, they serve traditional Swiss fare all day and the food was fantastic. I had the rosti with mushroom sauce and my wife had the entrecote parisienne, both were delicious. The service was also fantastic, with a very pleasant and helpful person taking care of us.

A chalet style restaurant located behind the station. It requires a short walk up a steep hill. We came for dinner and ordered a salad chevre chaud and my first cheese fondue for the season. The food was good but the portion of fondue offered was only 200 grams and that is too little. They have a good collection of local wines. The service was dast and friendly, and the restaurant has a good ambience

Lovely Swiss restaurant. My son and I dined in this family restaurant although for a more intimate experience you could dine outside. The food is amazing and the price is very reasonable. Highly recommend and happy to return.

It was the worst restaurant I’ve ever visited, I would like to warn everyone who is not local, not to spend their time for this place where owners treat you rude and unpleasant only because you are not local (for unknown reason). When we came in, there was nobody there, only the man, whom we greeted and asked politely whether the restaurant is opened. He answered in rude manner and told us that we cannot go in and first should stop at the entrance so he could decide whether to let you in or no. Then he decided to let us in (don’t know why we “deserved” this from him, maybe wanted to earn money). We decided to stay only because it was rainy and there was a holiday, so many other restaurants were closed. We’ve ordered fondue and beef steak, and I was sitting there and thinking maybe it was better to leave this place. Imagine my surprise when he returned back serving the dishes , he changed his behavior towards us completely, became all nice. I am still wondering what has changed his mind. But anyway I regret that we haven’t left this place, because we haven’t deserved such awful behavior only because we are Korean girls. Well, what goes around comes around.

Cozy and very authentic with comparatively low prices.

My husband and I are on our honeymoon, and we were looking for somewhere with local wine and lunch. Caveau des Vignerons was exactly what we were looking for! We had the Rosti (our first time!) and it came with a plate of delicious meats and some pearl onions/pickles. We split a bottle of local wine, which was fabulous. Our waiter (possibly the owner?) was friendly and a delight to make small talk with, even though our French isn't the best. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!!

This is the 3rd time we have stopped at this restaurant. The fondue is excellent. I also recommend the chocolate fondue tested by my son. Very warm welcome and very professional staff. Perfect evening with family or friends.

Amazing cuisine and a charming owner We had a great time in this restaurant. The owner is very selective when it comes to ingredients. Therefore, all dishes are delicious. We particularly liked the fondue and the seasonal mushroom rösti. The owner also explained to us the origin of the ingredients of each dish and recommended a delicious wine. We will happily come back!

Very poor customer service from the get-go. I had called to see if they were open because it was a local holiday. Upon entering, was greeted coldly after confirming that I was the one who had called them to see if they were open. After noticing that water was charged, we didn't want to get anything to drink, which seemed to anger the waiter even further. After feeling hot and stuffy for sitting inside, we requested to eat outside, in which we were denied and told by the waiter that he would not bring the food outside. As we were leaving, another group of people arrived, and were given a table to sit outside upon request. Don't know if it was because I spoke English, or because I looked Asian, or we were tourists, or a combination of these things. Would not recommend this location.

Quiet and friendly, family run restaurant. Very friendly staff who were multi-lingual and helpful with menu choices. Everything in Montreux is expensive, but the food here was well priced for the area. Had rostis and croute mains and chocolate fondue, creme brulee and meringue desserts and all were freshly made and delicious. Worth the stroll up the hill!

Restaurant which offers a truly beautiful Swiss menu. In Montreux, this is not so common. The owner likes his restaurant and goes looking for products nearby. You will eat rostis with local potatoes, a fondue with cheese from a farmer from the heights. We loved it!

Delightful family owned and run restaurant in a quiet spot a short walk up the steep hill from Montreux’s busy shorefront. Jerome the owner was very friendly and helped to steer us through the wonderful menu which focuses on high quality local produce at a reasonable price. He even half joked that he’d met many of the cows who produce the milk for his excellent cheeses. We ended up sharing a gorgeous cheese fondue followed by the Rosti Montagnard and washed down with a very quaffable Montreux Pinot Noir. I had a Genepì digestif to finish a wonderful meal and the bill came to CHF 108 which seemed very reasonable for Switzerland.

Terrible service from the male staff working and worst restaurant service in life. My child went to sit down on a table and he was angry that we didn't ask for a table (obviously, my child is young and he was just hungry and innocently sat where someone else was sitting). He was staring at us the moment we entered and I wanted to patronise another restaurant but decided to stay since it was such a climb up the hill. I wanted to get up to change tables beside to be polite since my child sat at someone else's table, and he said no sitting there as others are coming to sit there (in the end no one else came too). Expected my 4 year old to drink from a glass cup when I took out his water bottle (he needs to use a straw and plastic bottle), just to purchase water from his restaurant (don't even know if water served was boiled for my child). He was rude and even tried to tell me how to eat fondue and took my bread to break it as I was spreading it on the bread so it would not be hot for my child to eat. He coldly said, "If you don't know how to eat fondue, ask". My child has special needs and was wearing a disability tag which says "please be patient" yet he was impatient and cold. Did not even smile once or say thank you even when I thanked him. Food was not great either. Will never visit again. Not kid friendly location as he was unhappy and staring at my child who was active.

Very poor welcome when we entered the restaurant at 9:45 p.m. “Good evening, is it for ping pong, a movie, tennis? You are in Switzerland here everything is closed after 10 p.m.” with a more than condescending air. However, we (and to the delight of our taste buds!) visited a nearby restaurant.

The service was a bit unfriendly and we did not feel very welcome. The cheese fondue we had was nice. However the overall experience was not particularly pleasant.

Cute restaurant in the center of Montreaux to have Swiss specialities like fondue, rosti etc. We had the tomato fondue - a tasty variation of the traditional one. It was served with bread and potatoes. Also had a traditional Rosti. The owner offered to make this with Raclette cheese and we loved it! He also asked us if we tried fondue before, when we said yes, he cheekily replied: "now try it here"... I liked his confidence 😀 and indeed the cheese was very tasty and better than few other places we tried. Water was served for free! When we were leaving, we said bye and he responded: "bye, see you tomorrow" 😅

The decoration is nice. The quality of the dishes is good. We were offered the dish of the day which was good, just a shame that we weren't offered the menu anyway out of principle. One star less just because the waiter lacks a pretty smile 👍

It was unfriendly and the menu is limited to one order per person. The truffle fondue was okay, not salty, and the steak was very tough. I didn't know why they asked about grilling the steak. They grilled it however I wanted. Even if I come to Montreux again, I won't go to this house.

Unfriendly. Since there were 3 people, we had to order 3 items. The bread was crusty and I ordered the steak medium rare, but it came with gum. I don't want to go there again and I will attach significance to having the fondue.

We arrived around 2:00 p.m. to eat and it seems like he didn't like the time but the truth is that after that first moment he was very friendly and attentive. The cheese and tomato fondue was very good, the meat was delicious in flavor and texture, the dessert was chocolate fondue with fruit and it was spectacular. Nice and pleasant place.

Well worth the hike up Rue du Marché. The owner personally served us and made us feel le bienvenu. We selected the three corse steak fondue (in wine sauce) with real French Fries. We also got a fresh garden salad with goat cheese and apple strudel for dessert. You couldn't beat ambience for an authenic Swiss experience. Highly recommend if you ever make it to Montreaux

I just came back from a dinner and was so disappointed about the food and service of this place. I wanted to order just traditional fondue but the man (waiter) said that I can’t order only fondue, I have to order smth else otherwise I have to leave. First time I faced service like that! And the man wasn’t really polite, I felt like not welcomed and he is just don’t care during all my stay. Okay , I was calm and trying to choose something else, so entrecôte (beef with salad and french fries), fondue with potatoes were my choice. Even he asked me how I would like it to be cooked. I like well-done. So, food came pretty fast (it was just 3 busy tables in this cafe, including me). And in fact, potatoes for fondue weren’t cooked well, there were strong, just few pieces only were soft, beef was raw in the middle with blood, couldn’t chew well, and they didn’t serve salad with beef. Just fondue was nice. Honestly, these types of places or people (correctly to say) make Switzerland low quality. I don’t advise this place.

We were there last Saturday 1/10 for lunch, we were guided by the reviews since the other two restaurants did not open at noon. We wanted to try the moitie-moitie fondue and of course we have to congratulate the cook and the team, it was delicious with the local cheeses. We also ordered a typical Swiss rösti: very tasty. For dessert meringue and gruyère cream 😋😋 We liked it a lot, to come back and repeat. Congratulations to the restaurant and its team 👏👏

I really like the fondue at this restaurant. Even though it was simple enough to be served with just potatoes and bread, the flavor was mild and delicious. I think this flavor might suit most people. The chocolate fondue is also a favorite of mine. The recommended vin blanc was also my flavor. Highly recommended!
