Château Gütsch in Luzern

Really nice view point. Great service and good coffee!!!

I recently visited the bar at Chateau Gütsch and was extremely disappointed with the service. Despite there being three vacant tables, the staff refused to accommodate several guests, citing a nonexistent "waiting list." Upon further inquiry with the hotel management, we discovered that there is no such waiting list, and it's solely at the discretion of the bar manager to decide when and how many tables to seat. This inconsistency and lack of transparency in their policies are unacceptable. I would not recommend this bar to anyone seeking a pleasant and fair dining experience.

Take a bus to Gutsch stop, approximately 12 minutes from downtown , then you board the special “ elevator” No charge to go to the Hotel, go inside the entrance next to restaurant , ( not the entrance from parking lot ) so you can take a narrow staircase inside the castle to reach the lobby! Love the view , check out the pictures and please like my review .

Very beautiful and the full view over Lucerne. You can go up by car, lift or on foot in 20 minutes. However, there is no signage for walking.

I discovered this charming Château Hotel while collecting my #26th Grand Tour of Switzerland token. 🇨🇭 As I only visited the bar, I can’t really comment on the rooms. However, I’m happy to confirm the great vibe, delicious coffee & gorgeous view of Lucerne and its surroundings from there! ✨ Be sure to also visit the park across the premise, which offers other stunning views and some lovely artwork in its truest meaning. 🏞️ ❤️ 🙌

Nach der coronabedingten Schließung habe ich das Hotel Ende Mai/ Anfang Juni besucht. Es war ein Traum. Die Lage, die Austattung, der Service - kann ich nur in höchsten Tönen loben. Ein gut geführtes Hotel zeichnet sich immer durch scheinbar nebensächlich Details aus. Im Château Gütsch fielen mir besonders die hochwertige Pflegeprodukte und eine Minibar auf, die meinen Geldbeutel schonte. Des weiteren hat mir der Blick auf die pulsierende Stadt, und selbst in einer Oase der Ruhe zu sein, sehr wohl getan.

This was our 2nd stay at Château Güutsch after a relatively disappointing 1st time (issue with the staff regarding e-bike booking) but we wanted to give it another try. We were very happy with everything, service, cleanliness of the room and friendliness of the staff. If you are looking for a quiet place with an amazing view on the city, this is the place to be. We recommend the Suite Majorelle

Я думал такие отели покупают, как визитные карточки и если это так, то визитка ужасная!

Wonderful sightseeing! I do recommend to stay there for at least one night, if not two. There is a big forest, with a good opportunity to take a walk with your partner and a pet ( if you have one, of course). And stuff in the hotel is VERY polite and welcoming!

Astonishing location with incredible view over Luzern

Fabulous and comfortable hotel overlooking the city of Lucerne. You can go up by funicular (but careful with baggage as there are steps leading up to the hotel from the top) or by car. Reception staff are welcoming and lovely, I was given an upgrade for my birthday which was really nice. You can appreciate the fantastic views of the city from the front of the hotel, but these rooms are north facing so you won't have sun on the balcony. There are free soft drinks in the mini bar, spacious bathrooms, and comfortable bedding. One of the highlights of the hotel has to be the restaurant - I had a fantastic dinner of fish with grilled vegetables, which was not only delicious but reasonably priced, and the breakfast is absolutely wonderful!! From fruits to smoked salmon, bircher-muesli to eggs freshly made by the cook behind the buffet, the restaurant staff again were lovely and welcoming. Definitely a place to come for a special occasion, or just to spoil yourself during Covid! Many thanks to all the team in this delightful Chateau.

Magnifique château -hôtel. Depuis la ville, je regardait toujours ce château qui est placé sur la montagne et ce week-end de la Saint Valentin j'y suis en amoureux. La chambre très agréable, spacieuse, lit confortable décoré à theme du château, petit balcon avec une vue sur le lac. J'ai aimé. Malgré les circonstances, le soupé et le petit déjeuner étaient très bons. Le matin, un buffet avec un cuisinier pour préparer les omelettes. Bon choix des produits et le service soigné. Je le recommande vivement. Je me réjouis d'y revenir en été pour continuer à découvrir cette ville magnifique et ses alentours.

Es strahlt immer noch etwas Romantisches aus und bezaubert mit seiner Lage hoch über den Dächern der Altstadt von Luzern. Selbst der Weg über die Gütschbahn zum Hotel ist ein Erlebnis. Die Zimmer sind gepflegt und sauber. Wir hatten das Glück einen grossen Balkon zu bekommen mit einer einmalige Aussicht auf den See und die Berge. Freundliches Personal und ein reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet rundeten den absolut gelungenen Aufenthalt ab. Jederzeit wieder!

Meine Frau und ich hatten eine grosse Erwartungshaltung...das historische Schloss Gütsch...dort mal zu übernachten...wie im Märchen... Super schöne Position mit Super Aussicht, sehr schöne Räume wie man es sich in einem Schloss vorstellt. Schönes Zimmer mit allem was man braucht und einen Balkon mit einer Super Aussicht. Sehr schöne Bar, leider an dem Abend mit Rockmusik beschallt, was nach unserer Ansicht eigentlich gar nicht zu einem Schloss passt... Nachtessen im schönen Panoramarestaurant mit schöner Aussicht auf die Stadt. Hatten das Angebot "Fondue Abend auf der beheizten Terrasse" gebucht. Leider durch mich falsch interpretiert, dachte beheizte Terrasse = Wintergarten. Ist leider wirklich offene Terrasse im freien, jedoch mit warmen Decken und mit mobilem Cheminee beheizt. Fehler meinerseits. Im Service Italienischsprechendes Personal mit guten Deutschkenntnissen, kleine Speisekarte leider nicht Schlossgerecht...denke eine Schweinefleisch Ciabatta (=Fleischsandwich) gehört nicht in ein Schlossrestaurant . Frühstück wird Corona bedingt schon am Vorabend bestellt was man am Morgen möchte. Durch Personalengpass (oder immer so?) 20 Minuten Wartezeit bis das Frühtsück am Tisch war...da sollte etwas geändert werden, vielleicht etwas mehr Personal...

Im lockdown eine gute Möglichkeit auch sehr gut essen zu können! Die Suite für 500chf hatte eine kleine aber gute Aussicht. Deko ist gut gemeint.. Personal sehr zuvorkommend...

Essen für 4 Sterne war ungenügend. Das Morgemessen da war das Rührei kalt und angelaufen, das Brot war schon angedürrt wurde viel zu früh geschnitten auch der Käse klebte auf einander, ich weiss wegen Corana ist es anders und auch kein Buffet aber dann soll man es frisch anrichten auf den Teller und nicht schon gestandenes servieren und es waren sehr wenige Gäste da. Auch den Parkplatz wo im Freien ist mussten wir zusätzlich 15 Fr. Bezahlen für 1 Nacht. Beim gehen haben wir diese Sache beanstandet und es kam nicht mal eine Entschuldigung. Die Aussicht ist super auch das Hotel aber den Rest sehr enttäuschend, schade!

Superschönes Zimmer, 3 Tesla Ladestationen, freundliche Mitarbeiter & gutes Frühstück. Ich komme aufjedenfall wieder & empfehle es jedem weiter!

In covid - therefore special - times: very fancy hotel with a splendid view on Lucerne and the lake. Covid protection measures are sufficently enforced. Room with quite a lot of space, restaurant with a good menu and quality cuisine, service at a correct level (at the reception desk and the restaurant), breakfast buffet with large choice of products. You can have a good deal on the room price depending when you make your reservation. Deserves 4 and not five stars because of a few weaknesses : no spa and exercice room (should be standard for an hotel of this level), the restaurant menu was not so complete as advertised on the web site (could it be winter - or Covid - menu ?), and we had a room with courtyard view (can be lack of chance, but coule have been different according to the hotel occupancy). Still a good experience.
