I had reserved a table for 5 via TheFork on a Thursday at 6:30 p.m. which I had to cancel at 6:15 p.m. for health reasons. The same evening, I realized that I had been charged the sum of 150.-. Directly, I sent an email apologizing flatly for this cancellation, explaining that I obviously understood the inconvenience that a cancellation could cause to the restaurant but that I suggested that they immediately rebook the same number of seats 2 weeks later , on the condition that they credit me the amount again. To which I am told that it is impossible, that this caused a huge shortfall and a financial loss for them because our table could not be redistributed throughout the evening (from 6:15 p.m. until they closed at 11 p.m. so) but that they happily offered us a glass of prosecco on our next visit. By email again, I let them know of my incomprehension and my dissatisfaction at having lost 150.- for nothing while questioning their way of proceeding which I find unfair and explaining that obviously we will not come back again, including included to enjoy their “free” glass of prosecco. A few minutes later, I was surprised to have the restaurant manager who did not respond to me by email, but who used the number I had given when making my reservation with the fork to call me and set me on fire for almost 10 minutes using terms like "aggressive and mean" to refer to me. He compared the cancellation in his restaurant to a missed flight or an appointment with the physio which would be identical according to him and therefore which would be "entirely the customer's fault and entirely for his apple". Throughout the call, he said he was a victim of this cancellation and this situation... Quickly, I realized that not only were they not going to reimburse me the 150.-, but that I also had the right to a soap and a sermon rather than a manager trying to find land agreement with its customers to calm the situation. Moreover, this person in question told me verbatim that "150.- was nothing at all". I think we don't have the same value for money... I didn't stand down and tell him how I felt about this increasingly dubious way of doing things. These are the methods used by the Cipollino manager: charges of 30.- per person in the event of cancellation less than 24 hours in advance and blaming his customers on the telephone when they express their incomprehension and dissatisfaction rather than to leave traces by e-mail elsewhere. So I don't recommend this restaurant at all.

What an arrogant and dishonest manager and waiter!!!! We went to this restaurant as a family. We had a voucher, although it was 5 weeks overdue, my wife called to see if we could still use this voucher, yes no problem we accept up to two months plus we were told!!! In the evening, when it was time to add, we were refused the voucher, calling my wife a liar, saying that it was not possible to have had such a response from them on the phone... We reminded these dear dishonest and not at all commercial gentlemen that according to the code of obligations, the vouchers have a validity of two years, any lower validity is not valid, unless the establishment changes ownership, and they have cashed in This money !! In vain… they contacted the police…😂. We in turn had to call the police so that they could explain our rights to them!!! Response from the owner, it’s okay, get out of there!!! Congratulations for your reaction 👏, Owners reacting like that deserve the closure of their restaurant, moreover where the prices charged are horribly expensive compared to the service... Haughty, dishonest... In short, never again, run away!!!!

Last summer, we discovered this charming little Italian restaurant with a group of friends in the heart of the city of Lausanne. The pizza, a true delight, transported me to Italy for a meal. Crispy dough, fresh ingredients, and attentive service made this evening an unforgettable experience. A must for lovers of Italian cuisine and good wine. We will definitely return there on our next visit to Lausanne.

Friendly atmosphere and very friendly service. Regarding the cuisine, it’s on another level. If you like pizza with cold ingredients on warm dough and you are allergic to spices this restaurant is for you. For the pasta, the cooking was the opposite of that of the pizza. Overcooked and still tasteless.

Very high quality Italian restaurant. The dishes are good, the staff are really friendly and the prices are reasonable. There were times when the wait was a little long but that didn’t change our excellent impression.

My Family and I had been searching for a restaurant when we stumbled upon this place , which proved to be an excellent choice. The staff, hailing from diverse backgrounds including America and Uruguay, exhibited exceptional warmth and professionalism throughout our visit. We eat two delectable truffle-infused pasta dishes along with a buttered pasta option, all of which were impeccably prepared. Our dining experience culminated with a delightful chocolate cake complemented by indulgent ice cream. The rich flavors of the dark chocolate were particularly noteworthy, and the cake boasted a melt-in-your-mouth texture. I would confidently rate this establishment five out of five stars and wholeheartedly recommend it for its superb location, charming ambiance, and outstanding service.

Horrible experience and a proof that a very good pizza cannot make up for the fact that we: 1) waited for the menu for at least 15 minutes 2) were never told that we have only 1h30 for dinner, although we came at 19.30 (be very careful the website says those arriving BEFORE 19.15 have to leave 20.45 nothing about later bookings!) 3) And after we ordered a dessert they told us we have 9 minutes to get up. And then came for the second time to really make us leave after 4 minutes. The very proof that fake kindeness of the waiters and fairly good food cannot make up for this extreme and rude disappointment, this is no way to make money on people without warning them in advance! Completely ruined the experience

Cipollino is a very cosy and extremely welcoming restaurant, with it's friendly personnel being a real added value to the overall experience. I had one of their pizzas, which was big and tasted good (and was already cut, kudos!). Well recommended!

Don't get me wrong, the restaurant is OK but it's nothing to write home about. Prices are crazy expensive (super small portions) even for Swiss standards. Caccio e Pepe in a small bowl 27chf. Pasta pesto same small bowl 28chf, those simple plates with basic and relatively standard ingredients (no meat, fish) are super expensive. At the end the waiter refused to serve black tea to us based on a laughable excuse! All in all for a basic restaurant (pasta & pizza) in 1st floor with basic infrastructure (WC), basic food and mediocre service I can't understand their high prices and somehow the attitude. Unfortunately it was hit and miss for us and we will not visit again. Filtered water 5.80chf!!!!

The pizzas are good and the restaurant setting is pleasant. However, we were very surprised to find when paying that we were charged 5.80 for the carafe of water. We thought it was an error and informed the server. The waiter told us that it was not a carafe of water, that it was "filtered water with a whole Brita system". We told him that we had ordered a carafe of water and that it was not correct to charge 5.80.- for tap water without informing customers beforehand. If we decide to order a carafe of water and not a bottle of water it is precisely because we do not want to pay for water or at least not 5.80.-! The waiter directly turned away, saying "that he couldn't do anything and that he wasn't going to argue about it." In short, not very pleasant... I will not return to this restaurant and I do not recommend it.

The place is nice, the waiters too, and smiling, although a little insistent. The portions, however, are ridiculous... Almost 30fr for a small bowl of pasta (quite good but nothing exceptional that would justify such a price) which would leave a small eater, even a child, very hungry. Not to mention the tiramisu, certainly good, but which would have its worthy place on a gourmet coffee, due to its size (at the same price as said gourmet coffee, 14...) Then they charged my credit card 150 CHF for “no show/late cancellation.” My credit card company is currently following up on a dispute, but DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD! Generous pizzas. You are in a gourmet Italian restaurant! The prices are justified. And those who complain about both services just have to learn to read. Tables from 6:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. must be vacated for the 2nd service at 8:45 p.m. This is noted in the reservation and this leaves plenty of time to enjoy your meal.

A real culinary experience. A good address! Adorable, smiling, friendly, helpful servers. An intimate atmosphere although the room is small. Very successful decoration. The kitchen is open but discreet like the service. And the cuisine deserves its excellent reputation. A perfect first time which awakened our taste buds. I didn't manage to finish my pizza but I still eyed my neighbor's, attracted by the smells that emanated from it and by its delicious appearance. A little more and I asked him to taste his dish 😁 the pizzaiolo diplomas displayed in a corner of the kitchen are well deserved. Finally real Italian pizza with quality ingredients. Well done!

Very expensive and small portions. Table stuck to the coat rack, you had to get up to let people take their jackets. The truffle pasta (probably Chinese) was ordinary, tasteless.

Poor quality… Move on. Ingredients of the pizza which leaves something to be desired, the tomato sauce had no taste, the cooked ham which looked like plastic, not to mention their “filtered water” at 5.50, instead of a simple water cockroach . Unfortunately from the start of the meal the waiters make us understand that we must hurry for the next customers.

Bad value for money. The dishes are OK, nothing more, and expensive for what they are. The pompom is the bottle of tap water at 5.50 CHF for 75 cl. OK it is filtered, but you shouldn't overdo it either, it's still tap water! I am not against the principle of paying for my carafe of water, so that restaurateurs can find it without pushing them to consume mineral water (or other drinks whose container generates waste), but then at a reasonable price of the order of 2 CHF per liter. Otherwise it's clearly theft.

Was there with colleagues and tried the seasonal truffle pizza. This has to be the best truffle pizza I had to date. Made simple with truffle and burrata. Edit: And one year later I am back during the same season to try the Truffle Carbonara. Both the seasonal truffle pizza and pasta are good but I personally prefer the pasta. Food, service and atmosphere at its best, no change.
