Passing through the city of Basel, we were looking for a restaurant. Our choice fell on this restaurant. We were not disappointed. Warm welcome, very good service, very good pizzas. We recommend this restaurant. A plus: welcomed in French. To recommend without moderation.

Good food I ate rice with excellent osso buco Hamburgers a little less Unpolite waiter. Falsely kind. Nice place

A fabulous find in old town Basel! We called at 6:30pm and we were seated by 8pm. The atmosphere was fun and relaxed, The service was expert and jovial, and the food was rich and hearty. And I was pleasantly surprised by the bill at the end of the night.

TOP staff!!! They speak French and are super friendly. It was a pleasure to eat there!!

Do not believe the happy hour boards outside. If you are an English speaking tourist these will not apply to you unfortunately and you will be charged full price, with an excuse that it states this outside. Very disappointing.

We returned because the first time the atmosphere of the server and the food was excellent, this time it was different, it was not the same server, less friendly, everything was fast, the food arrived very hot, and less creamy . Damage.

Ordered a spritz to refresh myself = spritz served in a questionable glass and I have had spritzes in my life I can assure you that this one was not one, I ate a salmon ravioli more than about forty francs of poor quality salmon cooked very greasy, ravioli the same thing, I was very hungry but I didn't manage to finish the greasy plate and without a savior, we went to eat dessert elsewhere. It's definitely not an Italian restaurant ciao

Super nice/friendly/sympathetic staff. Fast service. Prices are more than appropriate for this environment and the performance. Food: really tasty. (Reordered fries: arrived quickly and were really good.) Portions: decent; I (105 kg man) got full. 😁

Cut into tiny pieces and seasoned with typical Swiss sauce. Don't call it tagliatelle or an Italian restaurant if it's an average, common international food without poetry. Tremendous value for money. Not to be repeated

Large beer was on the happy hour menu for €4. I ordered a small beer for which I was charged €5.50 because it wasn't on the happy hour menu.

The service was a bit stressed and therefore rather unfriendly. However, the gentleman who brought the food was very friendly. The food was great.

The food was delicious but the service was a bit slow. Our server had to be reminded twice to bring the bill.

Terrible service. We waited forever. The people around us were served before us even though we arrived before and ordered daily menus before them, in addition, and this during the week. The food is good in itself, but the prices are exorbitant for the quantities and quality of service. Furthermore, we had booked by announcing that we were going to use our gourmet passport, and we were only told at the end of the meal that it could not be used for the daily menus. We had to raise our voices and raise our voices to be entitled to a rebate in the face of this bad faith and lack of professionalism. The atmosphere is wonderful. The service is very good. Their pizzas are one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten. If you happen to be there, be sure to stop by.

The friendliness of the staff deserves special mention, absolutely friendly and helpful! The food was fantastic, tasty and absolutely worth the price. The carpaccio, someone in my group said, was the best she had ever had and a la discretion. There was a small misunderstanding during service, but it wasn't worth mentioning! This restaurant is absolutely recommended! Thanks to the great team!

Super restaurant! We felt welcomed and pampered, super friendly staff.

We were there this afternoon and wanted to enjoy an aperitif with pizza. The slow, uninterested waiter showed up after about 15 minutes and came back after about 5 minutes. We ordered and it took about 20 minutes until the same waiter came and asked if we had already ordered. We then decided to leave and the waiter (French dialect) didn't even bother to apologize. It should be emphasized that there wasn't much going on in the restaurant and our table wasn't even set by this waiter. Absolutely disappointed!

The locations is great and the personnel is kind, but unfortunately the food was not so good either tasty as it looks. The food is well presented but there’s no taste. The starter was ok but not the main courses and desserts were without taste as well. We were disappointed considering the kind of restaurant.

We go out every week to different restaurants in Basel, for us the service and food (Pizza Salami and Spaghetti) was far below average and the table in he middle of the room complemented our disappointment. The wine was ok.

I've had the linguine trüffel here twice, several months apart, and both times it was excellent. The service is warm and friendly, and the eclectic décor is very charming!

The service was a disaster, we had to wait 10 minutes until we could order something to drink, after about 20 minutes without the order being taken we paid for the drink and left - I also have to say that 2 other tables that came after us were served immediately were able to order the food. NO MORE COCCODRILLO

Nice place we had a good dinner. Ordered vitelo tonato as a starter, it wasn’t the typical presentation but it was good, quite tasty. For main the liver with risotto, it was very very good and the entrecot which was ok the meat but the eggplant as a sider was a bit out of place. It tasted good altogether though, and the french fries were really good. Nice wine selection, the montepulciano was good.

Restaurant with super delicious food with classic Swiss prices. Unfortunately the service leaves a lot to be desired. A waiter who was on the one hand unfriendly and on the other hand asked us to order something else to drink that didn't take so much time to mix. That doesn't work at all.

We sat down at this place because we were thirsty and wanted to refresh ourselves with something cold, so we ordered two pineapple mojitos. When the waitress (a very unpleasant and rude girl) brought them to us, we were very disappointed by the appearance, but we still didn't know that the taste would be much worse. The drink didn't taste like pineapple but above all it wasn't a mojito. It was bitter and tasted like neither mint nor pineapple. When we pointed this out to the waitress she responded badly, telling us that they couldn't do anything about it as they had been told to do it that way. We ask inside for pineapple and they tell us they used a pineapple flavored syrup. I'll let you imagine. We also paid 16 euros for this rubbish that we didn't drink.

The last night of the tour we all got together for an end of the trip meal. Thought the cost was a little expensive. The taste of the food and the experience was great. Our waiter was funny and attentive. The place tries to accommodate anyone who arrives at their doorsteps. Very good food with a vegetarian options.

With a beautiful indoor and outdoor area, this restaurant is located in the middle of Grossbasel. The tables are beautifully set. The selection of dishes is good. The presentation of the plates was attractive and what was ordered was fine. There is a deduction for the completely unmotivated waitress, who didn't even greet us at the beginning, but simply held out the cards.

There are no bad notes at all from my experience at Coccodrillo. Without a booking, staff managed to get a table for us and serve tasteful food in no time! We quite enjoyed the way starters were served in a tree shaped structure flying at different levels, alongside two generous Aperol Spritz. My truffle carbonara pasta was so rich and creamy. I am so happy I spent several hours in this restaurant and I definitely recommend this place!

We eat very well. The fries with truffles are excellent and their version of carbonara is very good even though it has absolutely nothing to do with the original one. Prices a little high. Friendly and pleasant staff

We sat down at 4:55pm and asked if the two drinks we were about to order were “Happy Hour 5-6pm” eligible which stated on their promotion board. The first waiter said NO. We asked what was in a drink we were thinking to order he seemed genuinely shocked that we had to ask. Drinks came. With dirty straws. He gave me a spaghetti straw instead. I assumed they ran out of dirty glass straws. They seemed to be concerned about the amount of alcohol we were gonna consume according to the half glass full they served as Spitz. See photos. Second waiter came. Asked what we were gonna order as food. We said we were not hungry. He left without a word like a disappointed father at binge-drinking and anorexic kids. Asked for the check. He didn’t say a word during the whole thing. I didn’t know why my husband decided that we try this one out. Daring. Tables, chairs uncomfortable. Interior tacky and greasy just like the waiters’ hair. Full-on 19th century time travel experience with its richness and layers. If that is your thing. Otherwise there’s plenty of nice restaurants and bars in that area, you know, with 21st century people and their businesses.

We were extremely satisfied. The ambience, price/performance, quality of the food and drinks as well as the friendliness of the staff were wonderful and exceeded our expectations. The waiter still had a nice sentence on his lips and we were shown a lot of attention (refilling the glasses, asking if everything was ok, etc.). We felt very comfortable.

Cozy atmosphere, very friendly and professional staff, the plates are plentiful and well decorated, just what is needed. I went two days in a row and I liked it so much. I recommend without hesitation.

The ambience is great, the service is professional. The food was OK. but has room for improvement. Unfortunately the pizza base was badly burned and the pizza was generally overloaded. But the products were fresh and good. My linguine with truffles was good and presented very specifically, but not something you would want to eat again and again.
