Very kind attention. Very delicious food but very expensive. Good atmosphere. The garden is pleasant. Little place to park.

Had the food delivered to us. We've actually never had such bad Indian food. Can't understand the reviews unless you're eating Indian food for the first time.

The food could have been excellent, unfortunately it was ruined by coriander. I've never had coriander in Indian food. Please please stop putting coriander everywhere in your food! Just offer it separately in a plastic box if people want to add it. It's such a strong herb that many people don't like and it just ruins the food when you add it. It does not add anything to the flavour. It was a big disappointment when I received the order. The food was still good but could have been so much better without coriander. Without coriander, I'd say the food is 5 stars. With coriander, it's 3 stars for me. Please stop forcing it and keep it optional.

Tip: Never order directly, rather via Eat.ch or similar. Takes 2 hours +

We are always happy to come back here. Very tasty and well tolerated. Our favorite is Veggie Platter. The catering was also great.

I'm sorry but it's just not good enough and too expensive. The chicken in my curry was too dry, the consistency and spiciness was ok, but I don't know what these huge hard-to-eat pieces of cold vegetables were doing in it. Worst part was the price. I don't like that the small plate of curry is already 25chf and that I then still have to pay 4 francs for a bit of rice. We were suggested a yoghurt sauce which turned out to be another 7 francs. Hope they can improve in the future.

If I remember correctly, this was my first time having Indian food. And it was a good surprise. Friendly service and delicious food. There are a lot of choices on the menu. The portions are not that big - but better than to waste a lot of food. Some things are pretty pricy. Over all a very good experience. I will come again.

I rarely write reviews, but the Crown of India in Ebmatingen is a really wonderful restaurant and I highly recommend it. The food was absolutely delicious and freshly made according to our preferences (one of us didn't want spicy, one of us wanted extra spicy, one of us has a coriander aversion). The service was incredibly friendly as was the impeccable table setting. We were there for dinner so I can't comment on the lunch buffet which I want to try as soon as possible. All in all a lovely evening and experience.

Crown of India is undoubtedly one of the best Indian restaurants in the Zurich area and deserves a solid 5-star rating. The generosity of the portions is only exceeded by the quality and taste of the food. The flavors are deep and authentic, exactly what you would expect from a good Indian restaurant. Culinary enjoyment is guaranteed every time. It is important to mention that the service communicates poorly in German, but excellently in English. This indeed adds to the authenticity of the experience and highlights the feeling of being in a small corner of India. The cleanliness of the restaurant deserves special recognition. Everything is always neat and inviting, which adds an extra bonus to the overall ambience. We have been regular guests for many years and for good reason. The consistently high quality, friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere make every visit a pleasure.

Nice Indian food but very pricy for suburbs. If I order a curry and need to pay extra for rice… still a recommendation for the lunch buffet, which is super fair priced at 20 chf

Unfortunately tiny portions. Relative expensive. CHF 7 for a beer, 12cm bowl for 28.50 a joke! Naan Paneer CHF 6 well. Unfortunately no English menu card. My tip is just the lunch buffet, if at all.

Very basic restaurant and staff wasn't competent enough, and we made reservations but still no attention, very crowded on Getish, the New Year's Eve buffet didn't have enough choice and unfortunately the food was cold. A pity.

A sparkling clean restaurant. Friendly welcome, friendly service, dignified restaurant furnished with lots of Indian miniatures. Perfect Indian buffet, not as spicy as in India. But we were able to season well.

Food very good Service leaves a lot to be desired. Absolute no go: When refilling the wine, the waiter skillfully distributes the wine into 5 glasses and one remains empty. So we answered the question about the second bottle in the negative. I don't like to be forced; I like to decide for myself. Since it's not the first such experience at the Crown, I'm taking the time to share this. I'll be happy to refill myself at the Crown in the future if I can't avoid a visit.

We had a party in this restaurant with 20 guests. Everything was done the way we wanted. The guests enjoyed the food. The service was excellent, friendly staff and adequate facilities. The price-performance ratio was right.

Food really great!! I always order via just eat, but today there was a small incident that I don't think is possible!! When the Liferant arrived, I gave him 100.- and then he just rushed away... I called to him what the change was, he didn't understand what change was (order 37.50.-) I had to explain to him what change was and he didn't have any Money with him, he went to the car to see if he had any money with him and gave me back 62.50.- all in 10.-/20.- notes, so hey guys! That's not possible! 2 stars deducted for this!!

Very good and spicy food. Friendly and attentive service. Our dog also got water immediately. When the weather is nice there is a large outdoor terrace.

Had been here a few times in 2018 and 2019, and I'd had the food in-house as well as carry out while they were still in their Witikon location. Always good quality food and never had any complaints. (I cannot judge the sit-down service since their move to Ebmatingen a few years ago)

We are from the UK so know a good curry! This is great and our go to for a Sunday night, we always pick up and they offer a discount for collection.

We've been here 3 times over the last couple of months and enjoyed the food every time. Staff is friendly and dishes are tasty.

We have tried this restaurant 4 times and have noticed the quality change. Delivery is always late with no apology. Food was cold and tasteless. Very disappointing!!

We pre-ordered the food and picked it up straight away. Everything was ready absolutely on time and the staff was also very accommodating with some repeat orders on site! The food was super delicious! Gladly again at any time :-)

Food was ordered and we had to wait 1 hour and 30 minutes! They wanted us then 14 CHF discount given on one invoice from 64 CHF Total cheek first and last time!!

Very large selection and generous portions for take-away. Together with an appetizer you eat it almost twice. Everything tastes great! I would like to pick something up again.

Every now and then we pick up something to eat in the evening or stop by for lunch. The food was always excellent no matter what we chose. Service is also very friendly! See you soon!

They are unfriendly, questions on the phone are almost blocked so that you can finally order. Portions are rather small when delivered. For over 30Fr. I expect to be full per menu. It's not particularly tasty either, meat, for example, is almost a bit tough. Ordered once, waited almost 3 hours (Altstetten), food came at half past ten. Ordered again, waited over 1.5 hours and we lived 5 minutes away (Ebmatingen). Last chance: pickup. Food wasn't ready again at the promised time and I waited another quarter of an hour. 20% discount if you pick it up BUT they don't add any rice. You have to order it separately and pay extra... 60 francs for 2 curries and a huge discussion in the store about rice. Never again!!!

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch in the restaurant's garden. The garlic naan was excellent and the main meals were deliciously prepared. The service friendly and attentive. We will definitely come back!

I will be avoiding this place in future. Delivery review - Prawns not cooked. Very rude staff. Late delivery. Ordered prawn Tandoori and lamb Jalfreezi, amongst other things. Prawns were not cooked properly, some were half raw!! The rest of the food was nice, but nothing special. The food was late by about 45min. Normally I would be ok to tolerate these things because sometimes it does happen and, although unlucky, that's ok. I started to regret ordering from Crown of India when I phoned the restaurant up after waiting for 25min. The man was very rude to me and told me "ja ja - 5min, 5min" and while I'm talking hangs up the phone on me. I called him back 5min later to tell him that this was rude - plus the delivery is still not here. Again very rude and with no remorse, but agrees to phone his driver to find out where it is. Driver got lost trying to find our address, after extensive instructions and google maps.. Halfway through our meal we receive another phone call from the restaurant to accuse us and start an argument about how we don't know our address? Of course the employee refused to provide his name and was again extremely rude. No apologies for lateness or anything. Just accusations as if everything was our fault. And then hung up on me again. This was not my idea of a takeaway meal I had been looking forward to. Not good. Will not return to this place.

We were happy to have an Indian restaurant nearby, but were very disappointed. We tried several times but the food barely has any taste. Unfortunately, I've never had such a tasteless (unseasoned tomato sauce) butter chicken. Naan is good and everything is edible, but definitely not Indian.

Food was cold and tasted of nothing. In addition, the food was vacuum sealed and probably too old and frozen. And the warm naan bread was packed in a few bags. It's just bad and it doesn't cost very much.

It was actually supposed to be a cozy evening with an Indian meal, nice at home with my colleague in Fällanden. So I ordered via EAT.ch GmbH from Crown of India Restaurant in Maur (approx. 10 minutes away). When ordering online, the delivery time was already stated as 60 minutes, which was the maximum. No matter what we thought, we ordered, but the 60 minutes turned into 90 minutes without any information. When I asked in the restaurant, the telephone line was somehow permanently overloaded and when someone finally answered the phone, they couldn't get anywhere with German. The courier drove around the street for 10 minutes instead of giving a quick phone call. Yes, when I finally reached the courier, he was about 40 meters from the house. A courier traveling in a strange place without a navigation system?! Unfortunately, of course, the food was no longer nice and warm and it didn't really meet our expectations in terms of quality and Indian flair. I'll never order here again and I'll have to think very carefully about that with EAT.ch.

Good food & service. A bit pricy, but you get something in return. Hope the dishes won't get too westernized.

There were 4 of us who ate there and had 3 different dishes. We had to wait a long time for the food, the waiter was inattentive and not really friendly. I didn't like the food. The table was cleared even though one person was still eating. No, the restaurant was not full and the table was not needed. The mask requirement was ignored and the staff said nothing. 2 weeks later my neighbor cooked Indian food for us. Aha, Indian is really really good!

I think the food from this restaurant is very tasty! In addition, the service on site is very good. You will be served quickly and politely. When ordering, if you are not sure what you want, they will be happy to help and recommend something. The samosas are simply great! Unfortunately the delivery service is not really good. When we ordered, we had to wait almost 1.5 hours for our (3 dishes). It should also be added that the journey time is approx. 1 minute. So this can only be due to the preparation or organization. The quality of the food is equally good even when delivered. So you can say it's worth the wait, but of course it's not really great. Since you can only choose between "now" and "later" when ordering (directly on your homepage), it is very vague when the order arrives. I was glad that we chose "now" because later would apparently be in 3- Been 5 hours... In summary, you can say it's worth going by to try the very tasty food. When placing an order, it is an advantage to allow yourself enough time.

I was very happy to see genuine Indian proprietors but sadly was disappointed with the food. The food was westernized and disappointing. Sorry will not go there again.

First class food and besieging.!

Ate/ordered there 3 times -unearthly prices. You can't exchange rice for bread; if you want bread, you'll be charged twice -I was delivered yogurt sauce that was already bad. -The delivery was lukewarm, took over 1 1/2 hours and was therefore no longer fresh -The card reader is constantly forgotten even though you now place the order via SMS because communication in German is difficult. You just get annoyed.

Nach einer Wartezeit von 2 1/2 Stunden wurden eines der Gerichte Vegetarisch anstatt mit Poulet geliefert, der Reis war wässrig, die Gerichte ohne Fantasie und extrem eintönig. Sorry, aber bei Crow if India werden wir nie wieder bestellen. Lausige Reklame für eine tolle Küche.

In den Restauranträumlichkeiten des ehemaligen Griechen ist seit einigen Wochen von Witikon das indische Restaurant Crown of India eingezogen. Sehr freundliche Bedienung. Aussenterrasse die momentan verhübscht wird. Wir haben gut zu Abend gegessen.

The curries are very tasty, like most of the other dishes. Unfortunately, a starter platter for 18 CHF is not good value for money. Prices at the upper limit. Service ok but not really worth mentioning.

They don't deliver food, call forever later and tell me to get my money back via eat.ch.

Always used to like this restaurant and their food. Recently I have ordered food for home delivery and was not so satisfied with the quality: heavy and rather greasy, we could not feel the usual taste. Hope quality goes back to how it was in the past. Not bad but also rather average.

The food is fantastic! When it is delivered you need PATIENCE!

Unfortunately, I'm dissatisfied with the food I ordered to my home from there. The food was swimming in oil; all pakoras were out of taste with too much dough, Lamm kebab' meat was not holding together and soon fell apart. On top of that, the rice and yogurt sauce were tasteless. Lastly, both my fiancé and I had stomach problems after eating the food. Definitely it's not wort what you are paying there.

The food is good, you can easily find something here, even if you don't like spicy. The service is friendly and the decor is cozy. It's a nice place, especially if you want to chat with a friend. The same CD is always playing in the background, so if you're there for a long time because the conversation with your friend is so entertaining, then it's really noticeable that you're probably listening to the song for the third time. The menu is very extensive, so it is difficult to decide. Somehow I also have the impression that everything tastes roughly similar. The dessert, the mango cream, was really delicious.

Service intrusive, everything superficial, tea bags Fr.7.50, food is still too expensive. Two menus plus 4 teas Fr 80.- No more.

Poor customer service. Definitely not worth for the price for what you get. Just for 3 people with small size dishes it costed around €204.

The food is just acceptable but what's strange is... far too expensive. 4 main courses, 4 naan and 4 pilau rice with a café for a whopping chf180.--. The price-performance ratio is not right. Unfortunately it was the last time.
