Great food, very high quality, the atmosphere is also pleasant with very authentic and friendly service. In my opinion the prices are rather too high.

Simply a safe value. You will be personally greeted and farewelled by the owner. The quality of classic Italian cuisine is of a consistently high level. Waiters and waitresses are in uniform here and you never have to wait for them. Homemade fresh pasta tastes just as good as fish, meat and vegetables. Not original - and that's a compliment! - but simply everything perfectly prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients.

The hidden gem in Altstetten offers more than just a meal – it is an invitation to an exquisite culinary adventure. Despite its slightly higher price level, the restaurant impresses with dishes that are worth every cent. My highlight was undoubtedly the veal chop – perfectly cooked, tender and juicy, right on point. The risotto, a harmonious mix of tradition and fine taste, would have benefited from a touch more saffron, but it was enjoyable even as it was. Not to forget, the coffee rounded off the taste experience with its fine note. My table neighbor's osso buco also deserves special praise, as it was in perfect harmony with the crispy polenta. Every detail, from preparation to presentation, testifies to the high level of culinary art cultivated in this restaurant. But it's not just the food that deserves recognition. The warm welcome and courteous service from the staff and the owner himself make the visit an entirely pleasant experience. Their competence and friendliness create an atmosphere in which you immediately feel welcome. I'm already looking forward to my next visit in the evening to discover more delicacies from classic Italian cuisine. A restaurant run with passion and mastery that I recommend to anyone looking for an authentic taste experience ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Great, classic Italian. Food phenomenal, service professional, place calm with a great bar as an eye-catcher. This is about great food, not fancy gastronomic concepts, and that is pleasantly authentic.

It was a pleasure to eat at this restaurant. The service was very attentive and friendly. The food is traditional Italian cuisine and the tables are set with white tablecloths and arranged to provide sufficient privacy for personal or business conversations.

We came here for our anniversary dinner. We booked a table in advance and they even called to ensure we remember the reservation as a reminder. As it was raining, we drove instead of taking public transit and parked in the parking lot next to the building. We were heartily welcome and seated immediately. Luckily we had a two seated table and did not have to share our table with others. As we sat down, we were asked if we wanted to order an aperitif. We also received an amuse-bouche of focaccia with mortadella and green olives. We were also offered a bread basket, but I quite dislike when there is no bread plate and have to eat off the table cloth. The waiter was a bit rushed poured our water and spilled it all over the table cloth and my phone camera, and also a little bit on the other side of the table cloth. But I guess he was in a rush to go to another table, even thought it was a Tuesday night and only a little over half full. Once we received the menus, we were also presented the daily specials on a board and also white truffles in a jar. We ordered the ravioli soup and mixed salad as appetizers. Honestly we were not so impressed. I am not a big fan of salads with iceberg lettuce and salad dressings that are literally olive oil and vinegar poured on top. I did enjoy the shaved fennel, though. The ravioli soup broth was delicious, but the meat inside was a bit dry and the ravioli dough was very very al dente. The osso bucco was delicious and it was paired with some polenta (but found it very dry). We also had the scaloppine al tartufo paired with taglierni, which was delicious. For dessert, we had the white mousse and tiramisu paired with espresso, which were perfect. All in all, it was a lovely dinner with a nice ambient. I would come here again.

Fabulous! Excellent food and impeccable staff. You are always greeted by at least one of the 2 married owners (one of which is head chef) at the door. The serving staff has been there for ages, is knowledgeable, and treat you like family. The dishes are beautiful, delicious and truly top notch. There is absolutely no way anyone could possibly walk away unhappy. Da Angela is truly one of the best restaurants in Zurich and has been/will continue to be one of my family's go to places.

A great restaurant, with great service and great food!

Great service, authentic italian food. All the fresh homemade pasta is delicious. The ravioli stuffed with veal, the cappelletti stuffed with beef, and the real winner - the veal scallopini with lemon sauce was incredible. The desserts, tiramisu good, semifreddo was disappointing. Overall a great dinner.

The location and atmosphere are successful and pleasant. You are greeted in a friendly manner. The food was also good and the wine list was also impressive. The meat in the ravioli was a bit dry, but the sauce and dough were very good. The only thing that left a bad aftertaste was the waiter, apparently he wasn't happy with the tip. His mood turned 180 degrees. When we paid there was no thank you or eye contact, he just turned around and started clearing a neighboring table. There was also no farewell from him. I hope the gentleman realizes that this is not the USA. If I ever eat here again and get the same waiter, I already know what kind of tip I should leave for him 0.-

A solid Italian Restaurant, not a chaib, but Manager with care. Food was in line with the concept, well prepared and presented. Wine selection was ample with good and payable years.

The first experience was so amazing that we came again the next day. The hostess and the host were warm and welcoming, the staff was extremely hospitable and the chef personally came and met us. The restaurant was full but they accommodated us. We ordered the monkfish and prawns which were cooked to perfection with olives, tomatoes, sundries tomatoes and red chilies. The spaghetti in tomato and basil was also divine. The next day we tried tagliolini in butter sauce which melted in our mouths. The grilled fish and prawns were also very delicious! Great experience indeed!!

Italian restaurant with a beautiful garden seating area. Very tasty homemade pasta. Unfortunately we had a bad table right next to the passage, which was a bit unfortunate. Otherwise we were satisfied, even if it is extremely expensive.

Have been there for lunch, fantastic food, very friendly staff. Not too big, Not easy to get there by public transportation even if there is a direct bus from zurich mainstation, it s still a 15-20 min ride. Bus stops are close.

Simply great. Da Angela would have deserved more than 5 stars. Everything was perfect and the food was excellent. Even the bag gets its own chair. Be sure to reserve. On Tuesday evening the restaurant was full to capacity.

Just had a lunch there and the foods were just fantastic! I work in one of the nearby buildings and will just stay in Zurich temporarily, didn't plan to dine here but turns out it was a very nice surprise!

I guess I was unlucky… everything went wrong! There were discrepancies when making a reservation at short notice, I had to get the table an hour earlier because it was supposedly fully booked, it was actually 1/3 empty, then I had to wait forever to order, received the wrong dish, then again it took ages for dessert and coffee + paying... what a shame!

We were a small group of five and enjoyed a tasteful and wonderful evening. The atmosphere is thoroughly Italian: a wedding dinner and two birthdays were held alongside. Which didn't bother us at all. What I like about Da Angela is that when you enter the restaurant, you are immediately in 🇮🇹 . The service is friendly and attentive. The pasta is to die for - everyone was extremely happy with their choice. We will be happy to come again.

We went to Da Angela for lunch today. I have to admit, this was my first visit to this place. Food-excellent/service-excellent! The price/performance ratio is sensational. I still felt passion for the job🥰 The only drawback, but really complained at a very high level: instead of a parmesan grater with fresh parmesan on the stick, we received the parmesan already pre-grated. From starters to dessert, everything was great. Very nice service, welcoming atmosphere. Price quite high, but normal in Zurich.

Food and wine were good. The restaurant is a bit noisy, at least at lunchtime when it is busy. In winter there is sufficient parking space behind the house (gravel lot).

When it comes to Italian cuisine, a restaurant is always in danger of succumbing to the simplicity of hearty cuisine to the point that it degenerates into sophisticated nothingness. “Da Angela” not only knows how to celebrate simplicity; The restaurant sees itself as an ode to Italianità in its entirety: from the cookies to the seafood to the service and the decor - at Angela it's Italian. I actually wanted to give 6 stars, but only goes up to 5 :-) Wow.. we were there for lunch today, we really enjoyed it, very tasty. The staff is very polite, the dessert was recommended to us and also the wine 😍 simply delicious, and good recommendation, it was the first time there and certainly not the last time.

Loveliest Italian example how an excellent classic kitchen harmonizes with an equally excellent front service. We enjoyed a most heart warming evening, The service was most charming and smart (they remember returning guests,but seem to equally cheerish new faces) and the food was an event on its own - intense flavours, the meat cooked perfectly. We will come back with great excitement.
