Das Scherzhaus Bistro in Köniz

Nice restaurant in the center of Köniz. Inviting outdoor seating. The ideal for a coffee with a drink after shopping, or for a beer after work 🍺

Was there last Saturday with a colleague. The ambience is really nice and cozy. Also had enough space. However, we were very disappointed when we wanted to order brunch at around 10 a.m. and were told "Unfortunately I can't bring it to you, the kitchen hasn't prepared anything." According to the current menu, brunch is offered 'only on Saturdays'. Why nothing is being prepared is, in my opinion, incomprehensible. However, I would say that a fried egg or something like that doesn't have to be prepared, there is probably an egg in every kitchen. If avocado toast isn't available, voila, no problem. We were then offered a “small brunch” with a croissant and two small slices of bread. At least the bread was delicious and the coffee was good. The service was friendly. But I don't know if I'll go there again for brunch. Migros would be right next door to do some emergency shopping.

Basically a very nice and cozy bistro. Very homely furnished. Price performance is ok. The staff is friendly, although they seemed quite overwhelmed when I visited. But that will probably have a little to do with personnel planning.

Something delicious from the grill in summer... And definitely try the crispy Pinsa Romana specialty from Italy. Great sourdough, the finest crispy, airy focaccia style. And as dessert: Homemade Madeleine, buttery and fresh from Stephanie! THE specialty baked in-house, fresh every day and super crispy! Plus the finest BLASER coffee. Unbeatable! and already known... Best Apero Plättlis in Köniz, freshly made at any time, great specialties in top quality, friendly and highly motivated team around Marco Tschanz and Beat Ackermann and Shermane. Great location, comfortably furnished with a fireplace! 1A top wines from Spain and Italy. Great team. Keep it up everyone. I will gladly come again. Best regards

Very friendly staff. Only recommended. Had fondue today in the fondue hut. You have to experience it, it's simply amazing. Thank you very much for the great hospitality. Was a true experience.

Very warm welcome from Starproject, Marco. Interesting event mixing “cocktails”. Great as a team event. Peri provided very nice support while we were mixing the cocktails, and she then treated us to food and drinks throughout the evening. Many thanks to Peri and Tamas, you make me feel very comfortable and in good hands. Always my pleasure! We can recommend the Bistro Scherzhaus for various events (company or private). Worth mentioning for cigar lovers (or smokers): there is a cozy cigar lounge on the first floor and a well-stocked humidor on the ground floor.

A very friendly bistro, that was my first thought. What were the bosses thinking, employing such incredibly linguistically and technically incompetent/overtaxed staff? 6 guests in total. We will never forget the slapstick-like scenes. One tea was ready after 25 minutes, but the pot (for 5.-) was barely moistened and was only enough for half a glass... the second tea didn't come at all. After 20 minutes of waiting, the information came that the desired type of tea was not available. The lighting outside went on strike because the batteries in the lamps couldn't be replaced and we had to switch inside. The staff walked in empty-handed and had us carry the tea that had just been served outside in ourselves

Actually a bistro with a nice atmosphere. But the ladies were completely overwhelmed by the few people. Whatever the two of them were doing behind the counter - I have no idea. After a quarter of an hour the question was asked: Have you already ordered? No we have not. And everyone else was served too. It can't be that surprising. After another 15 minutes we had 2 of 4 coffees and the other two 10 minutes later. It's a real shame, because with a little more motivation you could do more with it.

I recently went back to this bistro, which I have been going to regularly with my wife for years. I bought a lye croissant at Migros because they don't offer coffee despite repeated requests. From this point on, the employee who I had considered to be correct up to that point no longer viewed me as a customer, but rather as "no longer wanted". I didn't think the way I was "snouted at" was correct. We are disappointed!

After one order from the black board and two orders from the menu with three longish waits before being informed that they were unavailable I asked for my glass of wine to be on the house and left. At least that last request was granted.

Bistro with charm in the center of Köniz. Cozy interior with lots of secondhand furniture. Small but very fine menu with small dishes. The service was extremely friendly, helpful and attentive.

We had a wonderful lunch today and the atmosphere was ideal for our meeting. Business runs itself there. And for dessert there were heavenly madeleines. Thank you for the attentive and prompt service. We will be back!

True hospitality in a wonderful ambience...the aperitifs and wine invite you to linger.

The charm of the old joke house is unique. Detailed decorations and beautiful flower arrangements on the tables create a really great atmosphere! There are some places where you can also work, learn or read. But it's also great for chatting with friends. The coffee is great and there is even oat milk :D
