Der Pate in Davos

Great pizza at good price (for Switzerland), but 8 CHF for 1L of tap water?

We didn't try pizza, so no word on that. But the lasagne was really not good and the service was unfriendly.

There was no food at all. Were not greeted and when reserving a table for later in the evening, the waitress poked us in the back with her finger and said I was in the way. I've never experienced anything like this in a restaurant. Today I'm staying right next door at the Turmhotel Victoria and I'm here with my wife and child. F.U!

After you ordered some water and the owner looked at you in shock, the pizzas arrived quite quickly. These were extremely dry at the edge and oily in the middle. The spinach also tasted like mussels. Half as bad. But the fact that after asking for the bill five times and a total waiting time of over 30 minutes, the owner asks you whether you have already paid, in my opinion this reaches a limit. You are simply not taken seriously by the waiters or the owners. Never again.

Extremely unfriendly owner, it is not desirable to eat “just” a salad or a small portion of pasta in the evening, as this does not generate enough sales. There were two of us and we had to hear three times that she had to send families away because of us and that we were given a table for four, even though the reservation was only for two people. We ended up with spaghetti instead of penne. However, the waitress was very friendly and stood up for the customer.

I don't understand the bad reviews here, we were at Pate this evening and had a great meal and were served quickly! The staff makes a great effort despite the lack of staff, you just have to have a bit of common sense -.- Can recommend this restaurant and we will come back :)

The food was amazing, prepared quickly too. we didn't have a reservation and were still served immediately. i accidentally broke a wine glass like two minutes after arriving and almost just left from sheer embarrassment, I'm glad i didn't though.

The food was good and when we wanted to pay, the receipt wasn't brought and they charged more than we ordered!!!

Ordered by phone, pizzas would be ready for pickup in 15 minutes. Then waited another 30 minutes on site. Take-away must be paid in cash.

The staff is totally overwhelmed and wasn't as friendly to our group of 8 as we would expect from a restaurant. If they treat the staff the same way they treat the guests, I'm not surprised they're short staffed. When 4 of us left to make room for 3 of our new friends, we were told that that wasn't possible and that we would have to give up the table again in half an hour (at 9 p.m.). However, this was NEVER communicated! The food was served incorrectly for two people, some of the prawns in the pasta were still frozen (greetings to the intestinal flora!) and the pizza stroganoff was topped with an impressive 3 pieces of meat, which was more like a vegetable pizza. When it came to paying, we were told that we couldn't pay separately, but only in one go. However, our neighboring table was granted this table. When we paid, the cashier gave us 100 less in change on 2x 200 notes. This can happen in a rush, but it shouldn't. After all the negative experiences we had today, we will avoid this restaurant in the future!

Completely overwhelmed, the manager's unfriendly attitude would be even more exaggerated. Sometimes there is a very long wait before you are even noticed. For 3x lasagna and 1x Caesar salad, 95.- price performance really doesn't match anywhere. Thanks to the young, gum-chewing waitress, at least things are going well.

Absolutely not recommended. The food gave me a stomach ache (probably due to the shrimps not being cooked properly). The “friendliness” of the staff was underground...

Absolute impudence! Unfriendly greeting, inattentive staff, long waiting times, completely overwhelmed, overpriced, poor quality.

Pate Restaurant has potential, but the quality of service could be improved. The attentiveness of the staff left a lot to be desired, and the manager wasn't polite either. Increased attention to customer needs could significantly improve the overall experience.

Carbonara with cream?!? Risotto that only tastes like garlic!? Vito Corleone would even turn around in a ditch!!

Just a fantastic restaurant with great service.

We waited about an hour for the pizzas and when we made this clear to the waitress, she replied cheekily and unfriendly. She said that she wasn't a magician either, which surprised us.👍🏼 The food was ok, but it didn't blow you away, but overall it was still good. It was also very crowded, which has to be taken into account. In hindsight it would probably have been smarter to pick up the pizzas. However, the boss was very friendly and forthcoming.😁

They don't care about take away orders and prepare them not according to order and in very ugly way. Do not recommend

We had to wait 30 minutes before we could order. Then it was another 30 minutes until the starter came and another 45 minutes later the main course came. We ordered 2x Bruschetta, 2x Pasta Tricolore and 2x Pizza Zorro. Unfortunately the pasta was already cold when we received it. The staff was not friendly from start to finish. It was clearly noticeable that familiar faces were treated more favorably than those from foreign countries. It's a shame, we were very happy because it was recommended to us.

I think the godfather would turn in his grave and go the route again to Davos to enjoy this really crispy, solid, fine, large pizza (Diavola). I really liked the pizza! The buffalo salad was A1, excellent Starter. The staff was nice and accommodating, which was to be expected. It's a shame I'm not one a little younger otherwise I would have just ordered another pizza. Gladly again💪

From the outside? Well, stop at Bahnhofplatz - because it happened to be here, we feared something bad would happen. But what a surprise: the restaurant is very well run, the employees are very friendly and on the ball. More importantly: the pizzas are simply wonderful. Not exactly cheap, but you can feel it. The ingredients are top notch! One of the best and highest quality pizzas we have ever eaten. The Godfather will become a fixed point on the way to the Engadine!

It wasn't the first time at Pate. But this time we were really disappointed. The pizza topping was very poor and looked carelessly prepared. For 25Fr, the price-performance ratio is not right for us. Next time we'll think twice about going to the Pate again.

Absolutely amazing service! We were very excited. The food was great and the waitress always came to us with a smile to see if everything was okay. The whole team looked played. I definitely recommend :)

I've been to the Godfather in Davos dozens of times, but now I have to get rid of it; the best pizzas far and wide - Champions League! Friendly service, delicious Italian food and exquisite wines. Too bad we ordered a Beef Carpaccio, we received an Arugula Salad with just 20g. of meat without seasoning. As a restaurateur, I felt a bit like a shame at Disaggio. late seventies venue 😤😖😖

The risotto was delicious, but found some sort of hair-like fibers inside. The manager was unfriendly the minute we entered. I don’t recommend.

I recently dined at "Der Pate" and while the food was delicious, the overall experience was not pleasant. The staff were extremely hectic and unfriendly, making it difficult to enjoy the meal. Additionally, it was clear that the restaurant was primarily profit-oriented, rather than customer-oriented, which further detracted from the experience. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant to others. While the food was tasty, the negative aspects of the experience, including the hectic and unfriendly staff and the profit-oriented approach, outweighed the positives. I hope that the management takes steps to address these issues in the future to improve the overall dining experience.

Pizza dough was hard and tough like the sole of a shoe, unfortunately the pate is not recommended

We were there at 7:30 p.m. and got a table even though it was full. It said we have until 8:30 p.m. to eat. At 8:10 p.m. we were presented with the bill after the last bite of pizza. Being friendly is different...

I went to Der Pate pizzeria in Davos Dorf and was overall happy with my experience. The pizza was delicious, but unfortunately the service was very moody, which somewhat affected my experience in the restaurant. The atmosphere was also not very appealing and there were some compromises in terms of cleanliness. Overall I would give the pizzeria 3 stars, with a few concerns about the quality of service.

In a very unfriendly, unmotivated tone without any greeting, we as a family were asked to place the stroller (with the sleeping child) in front of the entrance. Lack of service and customer orientation as soon as we entered - we therefore left the restaurant again.

As always, they are there every year. Pizza is super nice.

Best pizza in Davos in my opinion although there isn't much competition lol. Everything is usually quite fast, pizza oven is also directly in front of you so you can see the process. I saw reviews complaining about the prices but everywhere in Davos is expensive so it is what it is unfortunately.

Far too expensive for what you get. Example of a small panakota for 12 francs of ice cream in a pap cup

Burned pizza, super expensive and rather nasty house wine, unpleasant staff (got the bill without asking for it, and the card reader at the same time…looks like they needed the table…). Just avoid.

Very good pizza. The inside of the restaurant seems to have been left standing in the 90s, thick rubber tablecloths etc. The service could definitely be friendlier, the restaurant seems to be doing so well that the guests are tolerated rather than welcomed.

Good food - the pizza is more like flambeé so expect very thin crust. The Margherita pizza is just cheese pizza not true Margherita, but the service was exceptional!

The service is an absolute disaster, unfriendly, rude and unkempt. I haven't seen such a flippant waitress in a long time. The food (bruschetta, pasta pesto, pasta pomodoro) tasted like ready-made sauce and cheaply bought ingredients: unseasoned, unseasoned and bland. The bruschetta was served on a slice of white toast, which of course fell apart immediately. The bruschetta photo that can be seen here under the reviews never came from this pizzeria. For the sake of completeness, I have attached a photo of “our” bruschetta. The pizza is only available in one size. So when you order a children's pizza, it's better to throw half of it in the trash than produce a small pizza. Why?! “The pizza is pressed” = it is a ready-made dough that is taken straight out of the fridge (slice by slice). How people can be so wasteful with food these days is a mystery to me. In summary: bad service, an atmosphere like in a train station restaurant in GDR times and run-of-the-mill food. We definitely won't be coming back and would rather go to Al Capone in Klosters. At least you won't be treated so condescendingly there.

In general, I think the pizzas are very good and the restaurant is OK. We have often picked up a pizza directly on site, but recently we were treated so dismissively by the service staff that I won't be returning to this pizzeria in a hurry. Even with stress and a lot of work, treatment like this doesn't work. We have already informed the person concerned about this ourselves. She just shrugged her shoulders... What a shame...

Burnt pizza 1 mm thick with stale meat, risotto with porcini mushrooms ok. We were accused of being Russians, but we were not asked about our nationality. Overall, not a great experience.

Very good pizza and great service! The latter also set up and in a good mood! The bottom of the pizza base is not burnt black as is often the case with the competition. The deduction is due to the lack of a “terrace” in winter. Why 2 or 3 tables aren't outside (like in summer) remains a big mystery. From the morning on, the platform would be ideal in the sun. The nearby competition is smarter and is now serving it up outside. In the Corona period it is doubly incomprehensible why this is not done.

Pizza is okay, service is nice. Usually quite full, so it's better to make a reservation.

For me one of the best pizzas in Davos. We always like to come by and there is no other pizzeria in Davos for the children. Always friendly service and the children especially liked the waiter. The ambience could be a bit more homely and stylish, but I'm coming to eat, so it's 5 stars.
