I have eaten many schnitzels in my life, but I have never had a schnitzel like this. If perfection were a restaurant, this would be it. In addition to the fantastic food, the ambience and service are great!! Every wish is read from my lips and you feel comfortable and can enjoy your meal to the fullest. The only negative point is that I don't live right around the corner, so I could eat this unique schnitzel every day.

As an Austrian, I have to say it's absolutely great, just like at home

Great food, great service, quick and friendly. I've been there a few times and it always reminds me of a little piece of Vienna. Can just be recommended.

Fine lunch menu: salad, sauerbraten. Pleasant atmosphere.

Last year I was more than satisfied with the Wilder Kaiser at the Sihlcity location. But the place is something new for me: the owner is still the same and everyone is still very friendly. We were also able to reserve a table spontaneously by phone and everything went smoothly. We placed our order relatively quickly and received the lemonade very quickly. However, we discovered that our starter (potato cheese on leiwand with house bread and 2 bacon chips) had not arrived after 20 minutes, suggesting that they had been forgotten. The classic Wiener Schnitzel with potato salad was perfect, I've never had a better one, really 5/5 stars for that. Afterwards we ordered Kaiserschmarrn, which was really forgotten, which the waitress apologized for and after 30 minutes it finally came. However, it was different, very sugary/caramelized and very sticky and hard. It wasn't the Kaiserschmarrn I had in Vienna, maybe we should choose a different dessert next time. Despite the forgotten and late orders, I'm happy to come back for a schnitzel.

Nice, very nice! We went for dinner and we took for starter some potato and sellerie mix with bread.. i taught it were some baconchips, but it wasnt. Sad For main dish we took Daas Schnitzel is veal , it was very very delicious much better than in Wien and for dessert we took kaiserschmarn, it was nice but the caramel it doesn't need... it was too sweet. Otherwise the service was good and the location was nice, so recommended! The price is fair, for that perfect daas schnitzel!

This is once again an unreserved top grade: Excellent food (snack plates to share with fresh bread and homemade butter; boiled beef and Hungarian chicken leg - all excellent!). A rare kindness from the gérant/sommelier in Zurich, who, without asking, offered to change the wine, which was a bit sweet (of course it doesn't go into the bag - the wine was also excellent) and, to top it off, served an apricot schnapps in a test tube. The b/w photographs from Vienna and the Austro-Hungarian Empire are also cult-worthy. Personalities. And the emperor is also emblazoned on the toilet. Felix Austria - I'd love to come back!

Rarely have I had such a tasty schnitzel outside of Vienna!

“At the Wilder Kaiser” is a real gem! Despite a short wait for our table, we were generously offered wine and appetizers, which pleasantly shortened the time. Overall, the three of us had a wonderful evening yesterday, thanks to the extremely attentive and friendly service and the delicious food. The host exudes authenticity. Highly Recommended! Who doesn't love Austrian cuisine? We love the Viennese Zeiler. Very good service, very nice restaurant. And now I'll start with the food. To start with a few veal milks with dip. Then the turnip and a boiled beef soup with homemade liver dumplings. I always find it difficult to decide on the main course. Baked chicken or schnitzel or mayor piece? Why not try everything once 😀 The Wiener Zeile is always worth a trip.

I just say “finger licking good”! We were there for the first time and it was just really good and tasty! The service was very attentive and it was really fun to spend time here! I'd be happy to come back!

Despite making a reservation at short notice, we still found space. The service was friendly and the food was served quickly. The baked sweetbreads were really delicious and almost reminiscent of chicken nuggets, so definitely worth a try, even for those less adventurous. I wouldn't call myself a schnitzel expert, but we did find the veal schnitzel a little dry with the breading, although there are also many other wonderful dishes on the menu. But the portion was generous.

01/13/2024 A few days ago my friend and I went to this restaurant for dinner. For me it was already the second time. We ordered the original Wienerschnitzel served with potato salad and cranberries. The veal was tender and tasty. The schnitzel is fried to perfection. The entire menu is prepared Viennese style. I found it very tasty. The service was neat and friendly. The entire team appears competent, trained and attentive. We were informed about the quality of the products on the plate without asking. That gives an additional plus point. There's nothing wrong with the cleanliness either. The price range is rather more expensive, but in my opinion it is justified. I found the atmosphere to be cozy. I will definitely visit this restaurant again and would happily recommend it.

Service was very friendly and generally good for Zurich. Ambiance is appealing, but very cramped. There are better schnitzels in Zurich, especially for this price. Portions are small. My Viennese colleague was also rather disappointed.

Extremely friendly welcome, top service and from the soup to the onion roast to the Kaiserschmarrn, everything was simply wonderful!! The plates for onion roast should be warmer. Even though it was full house, the service staff was not stressed, but attentive, courteous and very friendly! Very professional. It was a pleasure, keep it up.

Extremely attentive and friendly service. Schnitzel was perfect, everything else was very mediocre. Langosch was not fully baked (we were therefore not charged for it) and the spinach dumplings were very boring, hardly seasoned and the tasty sauce was unfortunately far too little (approx. 2 teaspoons). Conclusion: Schnitzel wow, dumplings wow Service great! Ambiance: loud and hectic and cramped but still with a certain charm.

My family and I were at your place unannounced last night. We couldn't find any more space in the whole city. Lüssy Thursday. Your restaurant was filled to capacity. We didn't have to wait a minute before the boss immediately presented a solution: grab a quick drink at the bar and a seat will be available in 10 minutes. We immediately felt understood and in good hands. It wasn't just the boss who was courteous. The staff was also great and organized all the time. Food very good. We keep coming back. Zurich is always worth a trip. Because of you. :-)

If you like Vienna, you will feel comfortable here. Everything is authentic, the waiters, the food, the decor. The prices are Zurich. Attention: if you make a reservation you have to be on time, otherwise the table will be given away. The somewhat long waiting time was greatly improved for us. A real recommendation!

The food quality is good. I love the traditional Austrian food, but the service was a disaster. A young lady didn’t know Aperol spritz even we showed the picture to her (English speaking seems to be a tough task for her). We also spent about half an hour to wait for our deserts. Sorry to the chefs but I’ll only give this restaurant 2-star overall.

We had such an amazing lunch here! The service staff could not be more kind and welcoming, and offered us suggestions for the best Austrian recommendations on the menu. We ordered the beef tartare, a pork schnitzel, the roast beef (more like a perfectly cooked steak!) and the pork belly. Everything was EXCELLENT! Deep complex, yet homey and familiar flavors. The dessert, kaiserschmaus (definitely did not spell that right!) was a perfect way to end. This place was a highlight of our Zurich trip!

Atmosphere like in a pub. The host seems very authentic and hard-working. The service staff leaves a lot to be desired and everything seems a little bumpy and disorganized. Long waiting times for food and drink. The famous Wienerschnitzel with its special preparation is unfortunately only average and does not exceed expectations.

We were there on September 16th, 2023 and ate the Wienerschnitzel from Freilandsau for 33.- We also drank a Julius Klein Johannisber (red cuvée) which went very well with it. The service was very friendly and attentive. The only downer is the noisy street on the terrace side.

If I had to rate the food on a scale of 1 to 10, I would give it a solid 11. Traditional Austrian dishes superbly prepared, we all had a wow moment at the first bite, just awesome! I could still have chosen anything in the minimalist menu and everything would definitely have been great. The staff was super nice and helpful at any time.

Great thank you! Unfortunately, the toilets are in the basement and there is no elevator. I have a walking disability and can hardly walk and stairs are my opponent... But the problem was solved in a friendly manner and I was charmingly accompanied downstairs and of course brought back to the table. This is really not a given and deserves a huge compliment and thank you!!! Of course I would love to come back and eat the wonderful Kaiserschmarren again! Best regards Karin

A stay at this restaurant feels like you are right in Vienna. I ordered a Viennese veal schnitzel here, which was covered in a wafer-thin breading. For dessert we treated ourselves to Kaiserschmarrn, which was also delicious. The employees were all very nice. A visit here is highly recommended.

One thing you have to know is that for us it is the best address far and wide. Not only is the food convincing here, but the service is more than just attentive. Always my pleasure.

Here you get a really good schnitzel, just as you would imagine! Nice service and the location is also very cozy. I can only recommend.

The veal schnitzel was almost perfect, as was the potato salad. Service wasn't good at all, very inattentive and forgetful, we waited forever for the second glass of wine, mineral water never came and finally we waited forever for the bill and asked twice. At least the mineral water wasn't charged. The “serving daughter” only spoke broken Austrian.

Nice atmosphere and fine service but the food was unbelievably small for the price. It is supposed to be classic Austrian reinvented, but the only thing that looked interesting was the (large) schnitzel. Otherwise dishes were tiny - the paprika chicken was not the creamy light red sauce you would expect, but just grilled chicken on a cucumber/tomato salad. No sides at all (not event available to order separately). The deserts were ok but also extremely small, with the palatshinken very stingy on the jam.

I was very much looking forward to an authentic "Umgestürzten Neumann" (a portion of whipped cream where the coffee is poured over, with a side of plain water, as is usual in Vienna), as I used to visit Vienna many times. The waitress offered "Cappucino", and when I asked about the umgestürzter Neumann, she seemed to hear this for the first time. She did bring me whipped cream after I asked for it, but no side of water... I would love to visit again and also eat some Austrian food next time, but it would be nice if you could teach your staff about the Viennese coffees ... I mean after all, it is supposed to bring the Vienna feeling, right :-)?

Very authentic Austrian cuisine with the proper Austrian naming on the menu. Very nice staff the food is absolutely delicious. A little on the expensive side but considering the quality of the food still reasonable. Only negative point is the 'terrace' where we sat. Right next to one of the main roads and a very loud church. Despite the inside being empty we had to sit outside since the tables were all spoken for - but were still empty when we left.

The Tafelspitz borders on fraud! Two wafer-thin slices of cold boiled meat on a Rösti base.

It was so beautiful at the Wilder Kaiser - Wienzeile! The best Viennese schnitzel (of veal, of course) that we ate in Switzerland - with Austrian breadcrumbs. Yes, it's the breadcrumbs that matter! And the veal meat, nice and thin as it should be! The schnitzels are audibly tapped in the kitchen, it couldn't be more authentic. The starters were also sensational and the crowning glory, the Kaiserschmarrn, a poem combined with excellent service and Austrian hospitality, a must for everyone who wants to enjoy a bit of Viennese flair in Zurich. We will be back!

Very friendly staff, you feel welcome. The fried chicken 3.0 was perfect and extremely tasty. The Wienerschnitzel was very oily and pounded way too hard. Unfortunately, this made the meat tender and dry. The potato salad tastes like mom's, it couldn't be better. Conclusion: if the schnitzel doesn't beat to death, then you deserve the full 5 stars.
