The food was A1, fresh, tasteful, creative, we were thrilled. The service was also great, very friendly, professional and attentive. The location is something very special, the room is large and has a welcoming and warm atmosphere and the roof terrace is certainly wonderful in summer. Which is why I'll definitely be back in the summer at the latest.

First of all, many thanks to Tobi and his team for the lovely evening I had with my family. We found you thanks to an app. As a vegan, it is still difficult for me to find a selection of good food in restaurants. That's why I can only celebrate this cuisine! From starter, main course to dessert it was just so delicious and really really good. The waiting time between courses was reasonable (all tables were occupied) and so we were able to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and have good conversations and had a wonderful evening. Our first visit will not be our last. Thank you

Very original brasserie… we ate a delicious vegetarian hamburger with lots of flavor and originality. The starter dish was also very good with Jerusalem artichoke, a forgotten vegetable brought up to date with great success.

Very nice service and good food, although the latter doesn't stand out in terms of taste. When it comes to culinary delights, in my opinion Don Camillo cannot compete with “Leuch” for example, even though both are in the same league in terms of price. The aperos, which (in our case) were more like mixed lemonade, are not recommended.

We arrived without a booking but we’re given a wonderful table on the terrace until 8pm. Chef was fantastic & wine really good. We both had the beef burger in a bao bun which was phenomenal!

Yesterday I was at the Dom Camillo again for a very long time and all I can say is: a safe value and has been for decades! 👍 We received great and friendly service. The atmosphere on the terrace was very nice. My burger was a little underdone for me, but still very good.

This innovative restaurant has been run with a lot of heart and great hospitality for 26 years. I am constantly surprised with creative, seasonal and freshly prepared dishes. I would happily recommend the cauliflower steak with beluga lentils on the current menu! It's always an experience to eat at Cantina Don Camillo!

A wonderful place with wonderful people! Everything is prepared very freshly and with a lot of knowledge and love. The place on a terrace of a former brewery has a lot of ambience, is also home to many plants and invites you to linger over food and drink with friends or family. We recommend!

Unfortunately, the conditions in the store can only be described as unsavory. The house specialty includes Schwurbelsuppe with brown sauce: guaranteed to upset your stomach. The Cantina Don Camillo offers the right-wing group “Mass-Voll” the opportunity to hold its election campaign there. Fortunately, there are alternative addresses in Basel where you can get delicious vegan food that is not so heavy on your stomach.

THIS IS WHAT SUMMER TASTES Our evening was pure pleasure all around, whether à l cart or the 3-course menu: every plate was convincingly prepared with sophistication and a charming nonchalance. After an excellent PIWI wine and a homemade Gundermann lemonade, we decided on the plant-based burger, the miso aubergine and the cauliflower. The fresh and sun-drenched vegetables were prepared just right and came to the table at the same time. The side dishes were also particularly good with attention to detail on every plate. The dessert just melted in your mouth. Here too there are taste surprises, such as homemade ginger ice cream. Delicious! Bruno and Tobias and their team are excellent hosts and pioneers from the very beginning when it comes to vegan and vegetarian dishes. The clever use of the old brewery does the rest. I was there for dinner last Friday with my son. It was fantastic from start to finish 🤩 The food was wonderful (the spinach nut roast is highly recommended). It wasn't the kitchen, the location, or the funny waiter that really blew me away; it was more the price: CHF 120.-- for an improved beetroot salad, a piece of beef cheek for the price of a fillet, cheese, well, and chocolate mousse (well). I probably expected more. I eat menus like this regularly for lunch for CHF 20-30... The “bread” with the cheese was inedible, no one ate it and wouldn’t make it again, although your spelled bread would have been particularly good.

We had dinner at Don Camillo this evening and it was a wonderful evening! The vegan food was great from starter to dessert and the service was very friendly. :) At the end we even got a Prosecco on the way home! We will definitely come back when we are in Basel again.

Definitely the best place in Basel if you look for vegetarian/vegan options. The food was excellent - the cauliflower steak was full of flavor and nicely served. The starters were delicious and the wine was great. The stuff was very friendly- nice to add a bit of humor to our every day life- thanks to the waiter, who was staying positive the whole evening! Ambiance in industrial design, with the heavy old tables and the matching, rustic restaurant chairs. Food good and innovative, great vegetarian dishes, selection for meat lovers rather modest. Wines are great but also cost a lot. Overall service good. Garden terrace with the fireplace is very attractive, details could still be looked after. Was a good evening. Recommended if you want something a little different.

So my girlfriend didn't know what to order because she wanted to eat everything. They choose to bring us one more dish for free just because, that was amazing and also delicious, 5/5 would recommend to a friend

Food was delicious and the staff was very kind. I had the miso marinated eggplant that was a very tasty veggie main course. Just the taboulé that was with a instant cooking couscous. But that’s my speciality. Also The grilled peach as a dessert was very good and refreshing to end with a sweet and light touch. Definitely recommend this place.

The food is ok, but the service is quite bad. The waiter with curly hairs is simply arrogant and unfriendly (or was it a special sense of humor?).

We were a group of 4 and we arrived at 19:30. The service was a bit slow, we wait 50 minutes between the starters and the main dish, but that is still ok ... In general, the food was ok (and a bit expensive even for swiss prices). What is more crazy is how rude was the waiter (and this is why I put only 1 star). When he realises that we don't speak swiss german, he immediately shows irritation and let out a sigh. In the beginning, we thought that it was done on purpose and that it was a kind of clumsy humor. But everytime he serves aggressively and unfriendly. Eventually I told him that we want to pay and leave, but he decided to make us wait half an hour more, making pay and discussing first with every other clients. His general behaviour was so exaggerated that I still don't know if he was trying to be funny and fail miserably, or if he was just outstandingly not qualified for his job.

Don Camilo was a great restaurant 10 years ago. Every season had a new menu. It’s a pity the creatively was removed from the kitchen. The current owners have been trading on the past reputation ever since. Such a shame.

Fantastisches Essen, gute Auswahl an veganen- und Fleischspeisen. Sehr freundliche Bedienung und schönes Ambiente. Auch die Weinauswahl ist gut(alle organisch!) zu fairen Preisen. Wir kommen gerne wider! (Besonders zu empfehlen ist die Vorspeise mit Randen&Linsen, siehe Foto 😊)

Das Essen ist sehr gut, originelle neue Ideen und auch viele Vegi Optionen. Bruno Mürner hat sich persönlich um die Gäste gekümmert und uns gute Empfehlungen gegeben.
