As always, you can eat very well here, I highly recommend salmon tartare, but other dishes also taste very good here

I appreciated the setting of the place, the atmosphere of the customers towards the staff, a well-known address in Fribourg, To have a good time, around several good dishes alone or accompanied! Personally, I also let myself be seduced by their choice of wines accompanied by a good flank steak! 😉🙌🏾

French friends, welcome to Café du Midi! I went there last week at the beginning of February! Already the place, not far from the Friborg Center station (around ten minutes I would say?), located in a busy shopping street, the place can seem invisible since all the stores are well embedded in the walls 😁 Very nice place, a floor and a basement available where WC and places to eat take you towards a wooded landscape, chalet type and very pleasant. The lights and noise are reduced, the colors are easily chosen so that everyone can calmly enjoy their fondue. We had a fondue called “moitié-moitié” per person (about 800g for us!) and it was very good. Unlimited mashed potatoes and bread, we ate well. As for the service, nothing to complain about. The smile and support of the waitresses throughout our meal only made it more pleasant. I advise ! 👍

Best fondue I've had in my swiss life. The service was impeccable, waiters were nice and friendly and attentionate even with a bit of affluence. If you go there I'd definitely recommend taking either the truffle fondue or the half / half, they both taste extremely good and have a perfect silky texture. There is potatoes on the side with bread, and I have no idea what they did to make the potatoes taste so good but I'd definitely would love to know ;) I find the price correct for the amazing food they got, and would most definitely come back. I recommend it for anyone looking to eat a fondue in the region, you won't regret it !

Classic Swiss, a must in Fribourg. I think this place has been there for a while and of course the fondue 🫕 was very delicious. I think I got in trouble for being a typical American, but I did something that hadn't been done before and I'm sure the Swiss will follow. I asked for french fries 🍟 and dipped them in the fondue 😂. Maybe I got some looks, but it was delicious 😋. Also had some tar tar that was really good.

Very fine food. I can highly recommend the steak and cordon bleu. The ambience is also great. Typically Swiss and rustic, which goes well with the food on offer. We would like to come again.

We came with a group of 20 people to eat a fondue. The service was really not great, waitress who really looked down on us... plus the fondue was very mushy and the quantity per person very very small (although not big eaters). Too bad because the place is really pretty. We won't set foot there again, that's for sure.

Regular customer, I came to eat a fondue with friends which unfortunately was inedible (like flour). Everyone can miss something, no big deal, we just ask if we can make it edible. The boss comes and calls us a liar, we tell him to have a taste, he refuses while talking to us like nothing with the most shocking: "You just have to brush your teeth before coming, he will help you ". he leaves with the fondue still full. We go to payment and the waitress tells us that we still have to pay even though we have eaten 1 piece of bread each. So, apart from the insults, we pay for a service, we either replace the customer's food, or we express doubts but in this case we taste it. I won't put my foot down again and I will take care of giving him the best publicity in the world.

Fondue was great but expensive. Service below average and the owner is the rudest person I’ve ever met. I didn’t know you could speak to customers like that. He complained when we arrived a little earlier than our reservation. We didn’t know that you have to pay for tap water and so then we decided not to take the water but he told us we had to drink something. Then proceeded to ask us sarcastically why we couldn’t spare 2 Swiss francs per person for the service of tap water for the table. His service was absolutely shocking. Not worth it unless you want to be spoken to like a farm animal.

A decent fondue but total disorganization. 50 minutes of waiting before being served, a wine served other than that ordered. It won't be a lasting memory.

So I can't recommend this resti any more. What's with Cafe du Midi! So long waiting times and small, overpriced menus. That's not possible! When I asked for spicy seasoning, there was just no response. Simply too expensive, too little material and too long waiting times. A small fondu pot like this is never enough for two people. Come to Bern, there are real tubs of fondu for a good price!

Add you walk in and the sweet smell of melted gruyere his your nostrils you know you are in for a delicious evening. If you fondue🫕 come here. The atmosphere wasn't the best as we sat in the back and it was a bit cramped on a busy Friday night but service was quick and friendly so risky with it. Decent price point for the servings as well. I recommend the 50/50.

We had pretty high expectation about this place, which we were recommended as one of the best Fondues. Ultimately, we found the fondue pretty average, as was the service. 2 stars come from the restaurant environment/decoration, which is very nice, as well as the desert we tried, Meringues et creme de la Gruyere, which was amazing.

We come regularly but since this year the bread accompanying the fondue is really more than mediocre. Probably frozen or pre-cooked, it's a shame, we'll probably look for a new place for the pre-match

The restaurant is very nicely decorated and the ambience is right for a fondue restaurant. The tomato soup as a starter was delicious. The fondue, on the other hand, was just the opposite: it was too thick in consistency and the white wine and cherry were missing in the fondue. I was a bit disappointed as this region is known for good fondues. The bread was also not a nice fondue experience. The bread was a baguette that didn't taste good. It wasn't cut into cubes either. You still had to travel it yourself. I recommend ordering fondue bread from a regional bakery. The service was very friendly.

It’s a real shame because the dishes in this restaurant are really good, I think their cooks are more talented than their boss (in their field) The boss (or the boss's son) spoke badly to their waitress, telling them that they shouldn't put us on the second floor and that we had to wait... I think it's so dishonest to talk like that about us in front of us speaking to the waitress. Also when my 3 year old son spoke a little loudly, he shouted at him (hoooo) and when I asked him why and after a little discussion wanted to throw us out. I think it's a shame to talk like that or behave like that. But I would still like to say thank you to the cook for these good dishes and thank you to the waitress for their kindness

The management or the boss is not welcoming, cold, doesn't like children, speaks badly, respect to the waitresses who put up with it! No one should avoid this restaurant!!!

Bad experience, the meal was good but the reception was bad both on the phone when booking and on site. However, there were around twenty of us and we consumed more than 1000.-. We were kicked out already around 10 p.m., the waitress cleared away the glasses of wine even though we hadn't finished drinking.

The tomato fondue we had was ok. Not incredible either compared to the price. Most waitresses were pleasant. One waitress in particular (the older one) was extremely rude. It would have been better if her colleagues had taken care of our table and not even served us. However, the atmosphere remained rather good. I recommend this restaurant for an acceptable fondue in a rather nice setting.

Rustic restaurant with various Stüblis. Lots of charm and multilingual visitors. The two of us ate a delicious Molesan fondue. Small potatoes and baguette bread are served with it. The staff is very friendly and quick.
