ELA Coffee & Cocktails in Chur

UPDATE: Unfortunately the atmosphere has suffered from the change, the elegant style with the eye for detail is gone. Apart from the rather inattentive service, the bar was full of kitchen fumes and there was a strong smell of greasy food - and so did our clothes. The drinks and drinks are also not very appetizing. Menus: The individual sheets are dirty and crumpled, changing them wouldn't be a luxury. Conclusion: Unfortunately not a recommendation. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Greatly furnished location with a feel-good atmosphere, super fine drinks (including advice *o*) and friendly, courteous service. Keep it up, always happy to come back!

Very tasty drinks, good location, friendly staff. The only negative point was the music coming from inside was too loud and made it difficult to talk to others.

General: A great bar with charm. Friendly staff and delicious cocktails top it all off. It was my first time here but definitely not the last. Staff, 5/5: Very friendly & courteous staff. They are very attentive here. You sat down and a little later they came with the card. That surprised me very positively. They remained very attentive the entire time and that is exactly what constitutes good service for me. Food & Drinks, 5/5: You can also get tarte flambée, cake or ice cream here. I decided on the “cake of the day” and got the Linzertorte. It was so delicious! I would have liked to eat another piece straight away. The beer and cocktail selection is really great - they also have non-alcoholic beer and non-alcoholic cocktails on offer. You will also be served small snacks (fruit or chips) with every order. I thought that was great and it was a great service. Location, 5/5: I really liked the location. It is located in Chur's old town in a side street.

Great location. Very fine food and, above all, loving service

Amazing food, especially the Flammkuchen was excellent! After having a terrible experience at another place beforehand, we came in here unhappy. The friendliest service and great food managed to cheer us all up. Though it is quite expensive and the options are limited, this place deserves five stars because of great service and great food.

At Ela, the coffee is served the way a coffee lover would imagine: with a glass of water, a small piece of chocolate cake and fresh milk in a tiny jug. The coffee itself is also excellent. Ela is very friendly, attentive and always has a smile on her face.

Nice local and good coffee. Unfortunately, a very unfriendly service that gossips about guests present with regular customers, and then at a volume that those affected can hear... a total no go! Wouldn't recommend it!

The familyname on the ELA building is the same as mine. Explanation in brief from the servant was that the former owner from the backery left some 40 years ago. I as Dutchman was quit happy to see my familyname somewhere in the original state being Switzerland. We enjoyed a good coffee and tasted a perfect cake.

Sunday morning in Chur and desire for an aperitif. Good with cocktails. The young lady who served us was beautiful and smiling but above all efficient.

Very nice service, the Chur meat cake was great and the lemonade also deserved the name. There is also a very nice café inside.

Ela is really friendly and the cocktails are super delicious... Gin Fizz and Moscow Mule tested and found to be great! Unfortunately we were just passing through, but would be happy to come back if the opportunity arises :)

Very nice and cozy café in the birthplace of Angelika Kaufmann, probably the most cultured woman in Europe. When it comes to operation, however, any kind of sophistication was sought in vain! We were treated extremely unfriendly and snippy. The cozy atmosphere quickly disappeared; due to the absolutely inappropriate behavior of the waitress towards us, after a while we just wanted to drink our coffee as quickly as possible, pay and leave! It's a shame that such an interesting and charming little room scares away its guests with incompetent staff!! Kind of embarrassing!

What an adorable cafe!!! The waitress was lovely and very accommodating. We enjoyed delicious hot chocolate with espresso (which was our special request). We’re happy to have stumbled upon this cozy cafe.

Not necessarily recommended. Coffee with milk for 6.60 CHF and unfriendly service.
